    DISH is one of our favorite Lincoln restaurants! Dare I say our very favorite. The constant rotating menu always offers something new and delectable to try. We were thrilled to see that the fried chicken was still on the menu as we have been daydreaming about it since we tried it a couple months ago. The wait staff was warm and inviting, it was fairly busy when we went, but our waitress was attentive and prompt! It is really a fabulous dining experience.

    We had a nice experience with our group of seven for brunch. That said it wasn’t impeccable. It took about an hour to get our meals and before everyone was finished they were trying to clear plates. When I went to open table to make our reservation, even though parties greater than 6 was an option, when I went to book, I was blocked saying you had to call for larger parties. Ok, so I called and left a message and my mom called and left a message also. No one called is back. Eventually I went ahead and made the OT reservation for 6 and included a note saying we were really a party of 7 and had called but no one returned the message, and it all worked out; my reservation was adjusted to be for 7 people. But that whole lack of a return phone call was frustrating. Food-wise, the food was, for the most part, very nice. One person who ordered the breakfast burrito noted it could have used some salsa or green chile sauce. I had the smoked salmon with poached egg, roasted potatoes and hollandaise, and was surprised by something akin to gefilte fish balls served cold. Not bad but a little salty. Could have used some more potatoes. Apple cider donuts were good as was the cinnamon roll.

    Carrots Carrots Carrots! Absolutely the BEST dish I have ever tried! (Chicken lollipops are EPIC and I wait for the return)…every shareable plate came out temperature appropriate and beautifully plated…everything we tried last evening was wonderful, creative and our entire evening was just a continuation of how lucky Lincoln is to have a restaurant like DISH!

    Unique dishes which seemed to focus on seasonal availability of items. The wait staff were very attentive and made sure we had a good experience. The squash starter was so tasty! Didn't really care for the dessert selections which wasn't the best as this was a birthday dinner. But, would certainly go again.

    We love DISH and support Rachel's vision and creativity. Our brunch items were very, very good, no complaints there. What threw the experience "off" just a bit for us on our most recent visit: bad electro rock music that was definitely too loud, and bad coffee. We asked for the music to be lowered, but couldn't really tell if it was. Why do restaurants think that the type of music that suits an 18-year-old is going to appeal to a 78-year-old? Seriously? For Sunday brunch please, NO vocal music, NO rock or hip/hop. Keep it subdued and relaxed. It's the "morning after," after all. When asked we told the waitperson that the coffee was too weak, and she made a new pot – this was the French press pot. Second time around it was much better, so thanks for being agreeable on that score. Hoping that there might be a couple of new brunch items soon, as we move into winter, for variety's sake.

    Ambiance, service, food and drinks: all top notch. The elevated cuisine is clearly very skillfully prepared and perfectly presented. Staff is very knowledgeable and gracious, and while it is definitely among the top eateries in Lincoln when it comes to quality, it has a very appealingly laid-back atmosphere and is reasonably priced. Highly recommend dining here.

    We met friends at Dish after a lecture at the Sheldon. Our friends go fairly often and have raved about it. Our food was very good, well seasoned and interesting. The reason I gave you a moderate rating was because our food was lukewarm. We did not say anything to our friends ( or the staff) because we didn't want to appear unappreciative. Also we all felt somewhat pushed out the door after our meal. Our waitress kept coming back to clear any little thing she could... It was noticeable and irritating. We had paid our bill, there was still a very large table eating in the restaurant, and we were visiting. We all joked about it on the way out the door, but really that should not happen. That being said, I would recommend this restaurant with some reservations... I would let those interested know about our experience.

    The food and service are always excellent, but the noise level is so bad it is always hard to hear. They thankfully don't blast patrons with loud music, but the acoustics are awful. People usually go out to eat to sit and talk with people, and a loud environment prevents that.

    We both had the steak and it was incredible tough. The dull knives they gave us could hardly cut through them, and they were not quality cuts of meat (full of gristle, so much that I considered sending it back but that’s not in my nature). Overall, it was not a meal worth the price, so that was a bummer.

    Great food and great prices. If you are looking to have a meal with high flavor and richness, it’s a great place to go. It’s probably more expensive than most places in Lincoln, but it’s really good food.

    My husband and I chose to have our anniversary dinner at DISH after seeing Chef on Chopped back in August, and it was a great decision. We started out with the focaccia, which was the best bread I've ever had, and the red pepper butter it came with was a great compliment. We each also ordered a cocktail, mine was the smoke and mirrors (of which I had two) and my husband had the cherry tequila drink whose name I can't recall right now. Neither of us are big drinkers, but we enjoyed our drinks. For our entrees I had the smoked honey glazed salmon, which was incredible, and my husband had the striploin. I'm not a big steak person, but after trying his I definitely stole a couple more bites. Our dessert was the raspberry crepe cake. The raspberry jam was perfect, and the dessert as a whole was good. The texture of the crepes left something to desire, but that is apparently just to me as my husband loved the dessert. Our server was wonderful, and every employee we interacted with was super nice. We will definitely be going here again sometime.

    Exceptional cuisine. Just perfect food. Carrots, carrots, carrots, roasted beets, risotto, chicken, salmon, and the extreme corn(on the wild side). It was all so wonderful! Absolutely one of their best performances. Thank you DISH!

    The menu options were great… but the service needed to be upgraded - First appetizer arrived… no utensils or napkins were brought to the table… we had to wait until we could make eye contact with our server and let her know we needed plates & utensils - The second dish required a steak knife, which never was brought…so we had to use a dull butter knife - Meanwhile all tables had a water pitcher... we didn’t have that “upgrade” - Long wait for our server… to ask for more drinks. Money lost for the restaurant. - Main dish arrived… we were sharing … guess what? No serving spoons… we just felt like home, lifting the serving dish and scraping the food onto our plates, using our butter knifes and forks to split our dish Take aways... Disconnection between waiters and food runners. Nobody noticed anything wrong? Maybe the servers can make eye contact with the guests and ask for more drinks… including water Maybe I should bring my own utensils so I can enjoy my delicious meal… For a top-notch restaurant the service needs to match the menu. The server needs to anticipate the guests’ needs. Overall the service was not what we expected, but, sadly is becoming the norm. Even for top-end restaurants. Per observation the staff was overworked, and maybe this contributed to the poor service. My guess is that this is all due to problems related to staffing. An under-staffed and over-worked crew is not going to be able to deliver the restaurant experience the guests are expecting, and this ultimately will not serve the restaurant well. They will be chopped.

    Absolutely love Dish. Food and drinks have always been spectacular. Dish is clearly growing in popularity and justifiably so. However, with that growth, some reinvestment into training of staff would go along way to bring the total restaurant experience from very good/great to exceptional. I would say staff are friendly and well intended, but quality of service will vary significantly by staff member. Training staff on placement of drinks, cutlery, and how to place entrees on the table, follow up on another round of drinks or when to present desert options - could transform the experience and have the overall service be commensurate with the quality of drinks and food.

    Just an amazing experience. Our party ordered mostly a series of small plates and each one was a delight. There were so many textures and flavors and unusual pairings. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
