We decided to take my parents here for their anniversary. They loved the food and the waitress was super helpful. They even brought out a little derby pie that said happy anniversary on it! Overall a great experience.
We had a group of 7, for dinner prior to a UL basketball game. We all enjoyed GREAT food, and even our "picky eater" found something that she liked. Our waitress was great, taking all 7 orders by memory, and all of them coming out correctly. One note: We were told at the end of placing all of our orders that the fried chicken would take 20 minutes. Had he been told that at the time it was being ordered, he may have considered changing it...
The service was great. It was a comfortable place. We asked for a quiet table and that was honored. The special, salmon, was very good as were the grilled vegetables. We split a dark chocolate volcano cake with ice cream for dessert and it was fabulous.
My nieces enjoyed their meals (chicken and waffles; Bourbon Burger) but our meals were just ok (Smoked pork Flatbread; Shrimp and grits). The smoked wings were great! I recommend you stick with the "local" specialties or burgers.
Great service!! Food was average for brunch. Gravy was fabulous, biscuit was a bit dry. Our waitress was knowledgeable, nice and expedient. Cool vibe.
Loved the atmosphere! It was nice and quaint .. will definitely be visiting this place again when we’re in town!
Good eatery. Food was all well cooked. Assortment for a Sunday Brunch was good and plentiful. Short on biscuits this morning for some reason though. Service good. Quality of food was good, nothing special but very good none the less. For some reason I was expecting more after reading other reviews and information on the place.... not sure what I was expecting but did expect more for some reason.....BUT I will go back and would go back more if I were still living in Louisville.
The kitchen was very slow. Took about 45 minutes to get our entree and the rest of the room seemed to experience the same way.
The 2 Items(Italian Melt and Meatloaf) that I wanted to try from the menu link on OpenTable were no longer options. I had the fish and chips. The fish and shoestring/straw fries were very good. The Napa slaw was luke warm and a very small portion. The service was good. My friend had the Hot Brown, not the best in town. Wasn't very filling. Will go back again to try the shrimp and grits, looked very good.
hate to say that we were really disappointed with our meal at dish. we did enjoy the atmosphere, and i must say that the fried chicken was delicious, but everything else was disappointing. it seemed like the calamari and hushpuppies were just frozen products that you could buy at the grocery. we are from out of town, so based on the description, we had just been hoping for a more authentic "small plates" local meal.
Love coming here but we were sat upstairs right at the top of the stairs. There was a large group so I am assuming tables got pushed around but I would not want to sit at the top of the stairs again where traffic was very high. Waitress was awesome and the food was great as usual. Just wasn't keen on where the table was positioned.
First time & loved it for pre UofL game dinner. Would like the menu expanded a little more for healthy entree options. Great draft beer choices. Burgers & sandwiches were very good.
Very complete and tasty breakfast buffet at a reasonable price. Our server was delightful! Will always be my choice for breakfast or brunch whenever I'm in the 'Ville!
Smoked Wings were great but pricey at $12 for 6.
Hot Brown was good but not hot and had to return.
We had a party of 14 and service was excellent! Our server was friendly and efficient and everyone enjoyed their food.
We had a great time. Chicken and Waffles were delicious. The Shrimp and Grits were full of flavor, but the entire contents could have been a lot warmer.
I thought that it was excellent. Good, friendly service and excellent, reasonably priced food. It is a bar environment which suited me.
Dish was good - like a reliable standby, always good restaurant with good service and a nice ambiance. Food was delicious - everyone in our party of 9 liked their order. Drinks were tasty too!
Dish on Market was the perfect pick before the play we attended at the Kentucky center. We suggest letting the restaurant staff know that you will be attending an event to speed up the service.
This was my first visit and I will definitely be back! The food was delicious and a very inviting environment.
We ate at Dish on Market before a play at Actors' Theatre. It was a pleasant 2 1/2 block walk. The Sunday brunch was tasty but not "over the top." There were several prepared dishes and an omelet station. The atmosphere was very welcoming.
Everything was awesome, great food, good service, Sangria very good!
Good food and great service! The pulled pork nachos were delicious!!
We came here for an early dinner and drinks before a concert and the bartender Jolene took great care of us. Very cool and casual place and would definitely recommend! The steak sandwich was delicious.
We were entertaining an out of town small group looking for casual and local flavor near the Galt House (where they were staying). Solid locals menu, vegetarian options, craft beers beyond the normal boring Sam Adams and Bourbon Barrel Ale and a killer Bourbon list. We ate in the room adjacent to the bar and it was quiet enough for a meaningful business dinner without having to go to a stuffy or overpriced restaurant - it was a Tuesday so I don't know how loud it would have been on another night. Definitely makes the short list of places to go back to for work or personal night out.
Great food and great service. Would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys great food at a great price.
We dine at Dish at least once a week and usually more often. The menu has something for everyone, the food is delicious, and the service is outstanding. Favorite place for lunch and drinks after work.
Like the ambience, wood floor very slippery tho. Good service. Food was slow to b served and was not hot. New place for us and I probably won't go back.
The hot brown was good but I have had a lot better. The steak was good and while not the best it was better than average. The Dish puppies had a frozen taste to them not sure if they had been made fresh but they still tasted okay. The pulled pork nachos were very good and a highlight for sure. The atmosphere was modern and nice better than it looked on the outside. The service was nice and accommodating but not very attentive and forgot my fiance's drink she had ordered. The food was good for the price for sure and we had a nice time might go back if I'm in the area.
Dish did well to accommodate our large party. Our service and food was great.
We celebrated a recent engagement during a Sunday brunch. The food was great (buffet was really good!) and the service was very good!
This was cute little restaurant in Louisville. The food was good, the atmosphere and staff were fantastic.
It was just okay. Sat at the bar and the bartender was serving the bar and booths. She needed some help. Measured pours are tiny, just saying.
I had the ruben and it was tough and skimpy. Had it before and it was good. Maybe used scraps, because that's how it looked.
This is our go-to place to eat before a (Home) UL basketball game. Being a couple blocks away from the arena gets you out of the crowd. Generally speaking we can walk in at 5pm and get seated immediately. They have daily beer & food specials too.
Tara, our server was fun and most professional! Will return!
Loved the food and service was great . Good place to eat and plenty of seats
This place always rocks! Great food and friendly staff!
First time and the creative comfort food menu did not disappoint!
Perfect place to have some good food and drink before show at ky theater or yum center with out paying an arm and leg like most of the other places
Had Sunday breakfast buffet. Really good. Very friendly waiter and staff
