In town for the weekend and looked online for something close by. We arrived on a Fri. 4/20 at noon and the door was locked although hours posted said open at 8am. Customers walked up confused with no sign posted. Tried phoning and only answering machine. No idea. Went back the following day and was told there was a private event. We did go for brunch on Sat. as it is 3 min. from Hotel. Ordered the avocado toast which said came with Spring Salad. No salad but a not so fresh bowl of fruit. The avocado was not even on the toast just a bit sliced on the side of the plate. Overall not very good at all and would not go back.
Excellent food and service. Perfect place to go before going to the Center for the Arts
Great place to eat before going to Ky Arts Center. Food was great.
Very positive. Love that they take reservations.
We have eaten at Dish twice before a show. Both experiences were excellent. The bourbon burger is phenomenal. The calamari and stuffed mushrooms appetizers are delicious. My husband enjoyed their cocktails. Our server was helpful, and the food arrived quickly. It’s a short walk from the theater.
We were in town for the T4G18 Conference, the restaurant was very busy, but the service was still quick and the server was friendly. Would definitely eat here again.
Food was great. They were slammed with a convention so service was a bit slow.
Excellent food and service!
Amazing restaurant masquerading as a dive bar. Cocktails, bourbon selection, and the FOOD, OH MY! You must try the Dish Puppies and the Barrel Old Fashioned.
Great local dining! Jolie is phenomenal!
The folks at Dish on Main were happy to make a sandwich for my friend that wasn’t on the menu. It looked excellent. I rated the food a bit low because I am not a fan of the taste of liquor in dishes. I ordered a dish which obviously had liquor in it and I didn’t realize.
Great breakfast! Fast and affordable! Tasty!!
The food did not live up to the reviews at all. It was “just ok” ~ I expected better for the money.
Food was AMAZING!! Service was significantly lacking. I made reservations days in advanced and we were sat in the bar, which we don’t drink and it was during happy hour. The male bartender was good however he went on break after we ordered. The female staff of about seven, all gathered at the entrance way taking and chit chatting. I had to go to the bar and ask for more water as well as our check and a box.
I Googled best places to eat breakfast in Louisville and DISH came up in the Top 3. A friend and I were looking for a new place for brunch after attending church. I made an online reservation and when we arrived at our appointed time we were seated rather quickly. However, it took more than five minutes between being seated to get the attention of our server. We were seated in a balcony area and it took a long time to get our drinks and food. I ordered the breakfast Hotbrown , wanted the buffet, but the dried out food in the trays was not very appetizing (we could see overhead from our seat), not to mention the number of shirt sleeves hovering over the eggs and hash browns. Also, I received my Hotbrown and there was no bacon to be found...I believe there was supposed to be bacon, but I did get my protein via the Turkey.
Food was gross. Didn’t wear gloves preparing the food for Buffett. Was sweeping right next to the Buffett with food
Excellent service, food, and atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it.
Dish was solid if not spectacular. I had a mid rare burger and it came out perfect. My fries were hot, but my son's fries were cool.
We decided to take my parents here for their anniversary. They loved the food and the waitress was super helpful. They even brought out a little derby pie that said happy anniversary on it! Overall a great experience.
We had a group of 7, for dinner prior to a UL basketball game. We all enjoyed GREAT food, and even our "picky eater" found something that she liked. Our waitress was great, taking all 7 orders by memory, and all of them coming out correctly. One note: We were told at the end of placing all of our orders that the fried chicken would take 20 minutes. Had he been told that at the time it was being ordered, he may have considered changing it...
The service was great. It was a comfortable place. We asked for a quiet table and that was honored. The special, salmon, was very good as were the grilled vegetables. We split a dark chocolate volcano cake with ice cream for dessert and it was fabulous.
My nieces enjoyed their meals (chicken and waffles; Bourbon Burger) but our meals were just ok (Smoked pork Flatbread; Shrimp and grits). The smoked wings were great! I recommend you stick with the "local" specialties or burgers.
Great service!! Food was average for brunch. Gravy was fabulous, biscuit was a bit dry. Our waitress was knowledgeable, nice and expedient. Cool vibe.
Loved the atmosphere! It was nice and quaint .. will definitely be visiting this place again when we’re in town!
Good eatery. Food was all well cooked. Assortment for a Sunday Brunch was good and plentiful. Short on biscuits this morning for some reason though. Service good. Quality of food was good, nothing special but very good none the less. For some reason I was expecting more after reading other reviews and information on the place.... not sure what I was expecting but did expect more for some reason.....BUT I will go back and would go back more if I were still living in Louisville.
The kitchen was very slow. Took about 45 minutes to get our entree and the rest of the room seemed to experience the same way.
The 2 Items(Italian Melt and Meatloaf) that I wanted to try from the menu link on OpenTable were no longer options. I had the fish and chips. The fish and shoestring/straw fries were very good. The Napa slaw was luke warm and a very small portion. The service was good. My friend had the Hot Brown, not the best in town. Wasn't very filling. Will go back again to try the shrimp and grits, looked very good.
hate to say that we were really disappointed with our meal at dish. we did enjoy the atmosphere, and i must say that the fried chicken was delicious, but everything else was disappointing. it seemed like the calamari and hushpuppies were just frozen products that you could buy at the grocery. we are from out of town, so based on the description, we had just been hoping for a more authentic "small plates" local meal.
Love coming here but we were sat upstairs right at the top of the stairs. There was a large group so I am assuming tables got pushed around but I would not want to sit at the top of the stairs again where traffic was very high. Waitress was awesome and the food was great as usual. Just wasn't keen on where the table was positioned.
First time & loved it for pre UofL game dinner. Would like the menu expanded a little more for healthy entree options. Great draft beer choices. Burgers & sandwiches were very good.
Very complete and tasty breakfast buffet at a reasonable price. Our server was delightful! Will always be my choice for breakfast or brunch whenever I'm in the 'Ville!
Smoked Wings were great but pricey at $12 for 6.
Hot Brown was good but not hot and had to return.
We had a party of 14 and service was excellent! Our server was friendly and efficient and everyone enjoyed their food.
We had a great time. Chicken and Waffles were delicious. The Shrimp and Grits were full of flavor, but the entire contents could have been a lot warmer.
I thought that it was excellent. Good, friendly service and excellent, reasonably priced food. It is a bar environment which suited me.
Dish was good - like a reliable standby, always good restaurant with good service and a nice ambiance. Food was delicious - everyone in our party of 9 liked their order. Drinks were tasty too!
Dish on Market was the perfect pick before the play we attended at the Kentucky center. We suggest letting the restaurant staff know that you will be attending an event to speed up the service.
This was my first visit and I will definitely be back! The food was delicious and a very inviting environment.
We ate at Dish on Market before a play at Actors' Theatre. It was a pleasant 2 1/2 block walk. The Sunday brunch was tasty but not "over the top." There were several prepared dishes and an omelet station. The atmosphere was very welcoming.
