The Eggs Benedict Hot Brown was delicious!
The Reuben sandwich was mostly fat and not meat. The gin and tonics were made with what tasted like plain water. Even after remaking them they were not drinkable.
Very few people in the restaurant and I now know why.
Would not recommend this restaurant as I won’t be returning!!!
Was concerned when there were very few people there on a Friday night but everything was great. Free app with reservation. Greeted quickly and seated. Waitress and hostess were great. Apps came quickly. Pickles and bbq nachos are fantastic. Wife had the fish and chips and she said it was delicious. I have the buffalo chicken sandwich. Very tasty and spicy. Sandwich was huge. All portions were huge. Price was great. Great hidden gem. We were in town for a cheer comp but will hit this place again next time we are in town.
Hot Brown Benedict very good. Dish Benedict not very good. Ala carte bacon, eggs & biscuits just okay. Service was not very good.
Food was really good, but portion size was EXTREMELY small. Service was VERY rushed, possibly because there was a show at the Center that evening.
Ate there for dinner and went back the next morning for breakfast. Excellent both times. For a small bar they have a decent selection of bourbons. Will definitely be back.
Ordered a “Bloody Truman” off their speciality drink menu, which was really the only reason I chose this place. When I complained to the server that the drink was missing the bacon and olives, she shrugged and said the bartender was really busy.... so I paid $10 for Jim Beam and tomato juice, which is just gross. Also they were out of the complimentary fried pickles.
Service and friendliness was outstanding.
Fried pickle appetizer with reservations was a nice touch
quality and flavor of food for price charged was not worth it.
I was disappointed that the menu they have on their website is not accurate or up to date. When we arrived and saw the limited scaled down menu it was very disappointing. I selected this restaurant based upon their menu. The service was poor....waitress was very busy, and seemed like we were an interruption to her day. The female bartender who brought our drinks upstairs was very nice and friendly. She tried to help out our waitress...but she was not very nice to the bartender either.
The proximity to the Kentucky Center for the performing Arts and Actors Theatre increase this restaurants value.
Great setting and good service. We tried the salmon, and the shrimp and grits - both awesome!
The Bourban Punch was delicious. I enjoyed the Hot Brown which is not something I will order just anywhere. My wife enjoyed her fish and chips. The food was great.
Great place for 2! The shrimp and grits platter was delish!
Service was super quick but part of my food was cold.
I saw the fish tacos on the online menu. I asked to order it, and was told that they didn’t have it, but they could make it. It was horrible.
Food great, service friendly but could not have been any slower. And not because they were busy, only 2 tables with customers eating and not more than 6 people in the entire place
Courtney was great! She should get a raise! We will ask for her next time. Thanks Courtney! From The Northerns
My wife's sweet potatoes were cold but that was about all we could complain about.
Good restaurant!
Permanently Closed!
It has been very emotional for our family to make a decision on the future of Dish On Market but unfortunately 2020 has made it impossible for us to continue operations. While originally, we had every intention of keeping open our doors, it became obvious as time went on that this was not going to happen.
We sincerely apologize for taking so long to communicate. Things were changing so fast with reopening phases and restrictions that it took us until just recently to make a final determination.
After so many years in business, we have so many dedicated customers and a staff who have been like family to us. We can’t thank them enough for all of the support. We will miss all of you very much.
The food was decent at best, nothing over the top good about the steak, fried chicken, or fried pickles we selected. Mashed potatoes were so-so. Decent Bourbon selection, poor beer selection, decent wine selection. Our waiter seemed to have the entire room as her section, but was very good. For the area and price, you can find other selections that will satiate your appetite.
Food and service were great. Price a little high and the restaurant is a bit run down, but clean
We found this place on Open Table as we were looking for somewhere for our group of 6 to eat mid-afternoon during my granddaughters cheer competition close by. Most other places were fully booked so, as this was close and had availability we booked a table. Our first impression was "is it open?' but once we were greeted, seated and our server started to take our orders we were pleasantly surprised thereafter. Food was good, hot and plentiful. As it was an unusual time of day for most restaurants it was not only quiet but void of any other customers. This did not detract from our experience however and I just wish I could remember the servers name because she was very helpful and knowledgable
Just got slammed and were overwhelmed due to Louisville Bball game.
Consistently good food and awesome service. I eat at Dish at least once a week.
Great brunch on a pre-UL bball game Sunday. Huevos Rancheros were delicious. The Hot Brown Benedict was tasty and unique. Service was excellent and all food arrived very quickly. We have another reservation for this Sunday prior to a Ky Venter show!
We had breakfast & everything was just fine. I would have no problem going back.
Food was cold and waitress only came to the table when I kept calling her over. Terrible service we're only having about six tables filled in the restaurant.
We walked up to the restaurant and other than a neon Open sign it looked closed. We walked in and the place was empty. The drinks were mediocre and nachos were cold and the meet was not very tasty. The nachos took a long time to come out. We were told that the jar of caso spilled all over the first batch of nachos and the cook had to make another batch of nachos. The online menu is different than what was offered on the menu presented. We would not go back and would not recommend Dish for a place to stop on the Urban Bourbon Trail.
We went to Dish for lunch before the Nutcracker- all of us had the brunch buffet. The majority of the food was very good, a few dishes were a little cool. The French toast was freshly prepared and excellent. Overall it was a great value for three generations to try a variety of foods. The cost was just right and the service was great. We had plenty of time to walk back to the Ky center for our program and were very satisfied.
The free appetizer with this reservation needs its own review. The deep fried pickles are outstanding. They were the perfect combination of tart and crisp, fried perfectly and served steaming hot. The dipping sauce complimented them and we cleared the plate.
The food is excellent and at a very good price! The fried chicken, fish and chips, and hot brown were awesome!
We will definitely be back. The food, staff and ambience were amazing. My husband was very happy with the price.
A wide variety to choose from on the menu. From fried chicken, burgers, to shrimp and grits. Terrific service and we sat upstairs.
Great food & service. The host who seated us, and our server were both very friendly.
Dish is good. Nothing to say OMG I want to go to Dish. The steak was cooked perfect, but didn’t have much seasoning. The chicken tenders and fried pickles was good as well. Everything was hot and service was great. The side salad didn’t have anything on it but egg and dressing so that was disappointing. Overall not bad.
I met a friend there before a UL basketball game. They had a game day special: hamburger, fries & a beer for $8.00. Everything was excellent.
Convenient little restaurant near the Kentucky Center - we visited before an event and had a good experience. We shared the fish and chips - the restaurant kindly split the meal for us at no extra charge. We also appreciated the complimentary appetizer (fried pickles). Service was on-spot and attentive. The menu is well-priced for downtown Louisville and of sufficient variety to please most tastes. The food was tasty and fresh. We were seated in a booth near the bar, but things were not overly noisy. There was a wide selection of bourbons and other drinks. Although it would not be a destination for us, we will gladly return when in the area.
Had been looking forward to trying this place for a while. Was a bit disappointed to be honest. Definitely a hole in the wall, needs major cosmetic updates inside felt a bit dingy. Food was ok nothing to write home about.
Food was great. I got the fish/chips and we are already planning on coming back and bring daddy. So good!!!
Our party of 7 was seated promptly, had great service, and all of our food was excellent! It was a great find for lunch on Saturday before heading to the theater to watch The Lion King. Great start to a fabulous day!
