Great location on Whiskey Row in Louisville. The bar is fun and the food is good. Had the Avocado toast, but probably should have gone with the brunch buffet. Not much Avocado on in the dish. It was tasty, but wanted more of the green stuff. Server missed my additional request for a side. Been there 3 or 4 times and always was great. This is the first time I did not sit at the bar.
Located in downtown so parking was difficult. The price was reasonable but the food was just ok. Do not recommend the avocado toast as it was just sliced avocado on top of some toast topped with a couple eggs.
Read some great reviews online about this place and it did not disappoint. We sat at the bar and had top notch service. They do a great brunch buffet on Sat & Sun. and it's a steal for $15 per person. They have a made to order omelet station, fresh fruit and salad bar, but they also have staples of eggs, sausage, bacon and cheesy hashbrowns. But they also have biscuits and gravy, grits and the best fried chicken. Sometimes fried chicken ends up very dry and/or very greasy. This fried chicken was neither of them. Additionally, they have some of the best bourbons (read: rare) on the market and their prices are very reasonable. If their breakfast buffet was this good, I can't wait to try their lunch and dinner options!!!
Very tasty! Limited wine list- casual
Jolie our server was outstanding! Thank you for asking our names and then using them whole we were dining. You were terrific!
Only table served and had to unlock door at 8:00 AM
We had a great time at Dish on Market. I would like to see a couple of true vegan options. My husband didn't have much choice in what he could eat. But otherwise a GREAT experience.
Food was pretty good, buffet a good value ($14 adults, $7 for kids), but the ambiance left a lot to be desired. Not what I was expecting from other reviews. Wouldn’t re-visit.
The food was below average and it’s a best up, dark restaurant. The server was great but the breakfast food took forever and the omelet was cold and burnt. Do not recommend.
Based on other reviews we were expecting more than we got. The menu was limited and the food we ordered was adequate at best.
There were 8 of us for Sunday brunch. I recommend getting a reservation if you are planning a gathering of this many because of the cozy layout of the dining areas. Our space was in the balcony and very comfortable.
The food was delicious, especially the Hot Brown casserole. The only native Kentuckian in the group had 3 helpings!!
The service was so accommodating. We were celebrating a 1st wedding anniversary. The servers got us small plates, forks, and a knife so the anniversary couple could cut the top layer of the wedding cake and share it with the table.
We will certainly return whenever we come back to downtown Louisville. A couple dining next to us said it is their go-to restaurant.
I highly recommend Dish's fried chicken! It is a large portion and yummy!
Good food. Nice servers and staff. They messed up my order.
A great place for breakfast on a lazy Sunday morning. Food and service were fantastic. I’d suggest booking a table on weekend mornings as there were a lot of folks who didn’t have reservations waiting for a table when we arrived. We all ordered off the menu but there was a buffet that looked really good as well.
We went during the weekend for brunch. You could have the buffet or order from the menu. They had made to order omelets on the buffet, which really made it worth the price. The server was very pleasant. The buffet options were very good, again making the cost of the buffet very reasonable.
Food is average, cute place. Service is good but it was overkill while they were training a server, excessive hovering. Fish was greasy, slaw drowning in dressing. My friend had turkey club which he said was good. Very large group of boisterous men sat next to us. We could not have a conversation without yelling.
They were out of five or 6 different items on the menu as well as one of their taps. The worst part of the night though was when I ordered a $7 bourbon and the waiter said I had to try a different one (much better) that was close to the same price. My mistake my wife says because I trusted him. It turned out to be $16. To make it worse he actually said he took $1 off. Last when we left I noticed the $14 burger he sold me was on special that day for $8. What the heck!
We enjoyed the food. The waitress did a great job. My only complaint was they had us upstairs. I had two people with me who had difficulty with stairs. In addition, the steps were a little steep and the floor wasn't really designed for those in heels. My niece, who is in her late 20's almost slipped and fell twice. I am not sure what can be done about this, but I would think something should be before someone does get hurt.
Other than that, we had a great time. I would visit again, but only if I am not seated upstairs.
Charming place. There were several groups of regulars that made their way in while we were there. That is always a good sign in my book. The food was very good and the staff were great! Prices were very reasonable. I just recommended the restaurant to a friend who is in town and she had a similar experience.
The service was great and the staff were very accommodating. I had the shrimp and grits, grits were very good but the shrimp was overcooked. It was Thurby so we were glad to find a restaurant without a wait.
I think my family really enjoyed the brunch buffet. I made the mistake of ordering the avocado toast. Was shocked to see a few shavings, perhaps 1/8 of an Unripe avocado on a bare piece of toast. One of these shavings still had the peel on it! Even more shocked that the kitchen and the otherwise thoughtful server would let this be served! My family laughed at me and couldn’t believe we’d spent $12 for this! If there is a next time, I will stick to the brunch buffet.
Very good place.... the inside is gorgeous, and the food was great. Service was wonderful, much enjoyed. Thank you!
The hot brown was ok...mostly bread...
Service was great, burger was great, filet was cooked as requested
Desserts were good.
The Fried Chicken Dinner was awesome! Three huge pieces of golden brown, crispy chicken accompanied by country style green beans and yummy potato salad. It was enough to share with my husband. House salad was fresh and honey mustard dressing was delicious. Derby pie and ice cream finished off a fantastic meal!
Sorry, I hate writing bad things about a business but how else do you fix a problem if you aren't aware of it?? I used the online service to make a reservation the night before just to make sure our travle plans weren't interrupted and we arrived at the specified time. We stood by the the front door, waiting to be greeted but after 5 or so minutes without seeing a single employee, we simply went in and seated ourselves. There, we sat another 5 minutes without seeing a single person until one of the employees, just arriving for work, came in the front door and walked in looking around and seeing several customers twiddling their fingers a waitress finally came out, walked right past us and went to a nearby table......... She then walked away as the gentleman who walked in walked by and began to work behind the bar. We again twiddled our fingers, no coffee, no menus etc.... and began to engage in discussion with the table of 7 near us about poor the service was. We literally had to call to whichever employee we saw to get someone to actually provide us with our needs. One of the guys at the nearby table finally said that he's leaving and left his friends to bring him a take out order. Long story short, the food was pretty good but there was some pretty bad planning, and attention to the business.
I was disappointed by the lack of vegetarian options.
Stewart was a great ambassador for the restaurant and city!
The best spicy Bloody Mary ever!!
The BEST FRIED PICKLES.. they were thick and didn’t get soggy in the middle 😋
The quesadilla was poor!!
I've eaten at Dish twice--both in the same week because the food was so good the first time. The food was excellent, service was awesome, and the price was fair. The bartender is excellent!
Seated at reservation time. Friendly staff. Casual ambiance. Fried chicken and fish tacos excellent.
Fantastic atmosphere! The BURGER was incredible! The history incredible!
Have been there before and it was better. Maybe I made the mistake of ordering the wrong thing, but I ended up with the world's worst "Hot Brown" ever. C'mon, using white bread??? And the sauce / sauces were pretty bland. Would have to try Dish again before I could recommend it. Previous visits were more positive.
Hamburger for breakfast! Other three had perfect eggs. Best fries in Louisville! No better choice downtown for value and exceptional food.
This is the ultimate comfort food spot. Perfect fried chicken, beautiful shrimp and grits and the dish puppies (hush puppies with cheese and jalapenos in them) are to die for.
Good food. Good service!
We were thrilled to get a last minute reservation for a large group on a Sunday night. The food was very good. Our server was excellent.
And their bourbon list is quite nice!
The service was superb. The waitress made a point of calling us by our first names. The food portions were huge, and everything tasted great. A hidden gem in the city.
Delicious! Server was super sweet. Had lots of suggestions that were grand. The hush puppies were stellar
Food was excellent. Took the advice of the hostess and bartender. Had the salmon and fried pickles.
Convenient dinner locale before a show at the Kentucky Center. Great value and good food.
