The service was excellent! We had the Sunday brunch, which could have been a little better… Some of the items were cold, and looked as if they had been sitting out for some time
It was a terrific experience- our server Jolene rocked! She was wonderful and made my Mom’s birthday celebration extra special. The food was delicious! Definitely will return.
Good food but restaurant needs a major overhaul
Tables and chairs looked like they were falling a part No TV's in the one Room that we sat in
Great food and attentive service
Service could have been better, but food was great and it was a perfect little lunch date spot.
A great neighborhood restaurant with awesomely eclectic diners. We had Sunday brunch, so can’t speak to the regular menu. The brunch was very good. The bacon and biscuits and gravy were perfect.
Really great service and special dessert for our special occasion. Loved most of the food we had, but a little disappointed in the mixed vegetables and salmon was good but not great. Also had fish and chips which was excellent. Ordered a starter, fried pickles - good taste but not a very crispy batter. Service and ambiance made up for any minor criticism of food. Would definately go again.
We’ve been to dish several times and the food is always hot and fresh. Service is always personable and prompt.
I was disappointed that my hot brown was not served hot. I think the taste was good, but it likely was not hot.
A Great Little Dive Behind Main Street with Good Food and Lots to Drink.
Dish on Market offers one the downtown-area’s best breakfast, lunch and happy hour spots for the business-class customer. Dish has a long and narrow bar area with high definition television on one side, comfortable booths and quiet scenery on another side, while at the same time, there are tons of seating upstairs overlooking the downstairs dining rooms. Plenty of food choices for meat-eaters and vegetarians.
I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich ($10), that came with fried chicken dunked in their Dish Buffalo Sauce, lettuce, tomato, and kettle chips; I asked to top it off with blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese sauce… it was a glorious mess. The chicken was a huge piece, bursting through the sandwich and the sauce was tangy, hot, and delicious. Eating through it took both hands and with so much drippage, I couldn’t put it down—nor did I want to after I started into it. My buddy ordered the Louisville Hot Brown ($14), an open face dish with house smoked turkey, Texas toast, mornay, cheddar cheese, topped with green onions, tomatoes, and bacon. It looked very hearty and delicious and he cleaned it up. It’s on my list to try next time I visit Dish on Market; along with their Bloody Mary that comes with strips of bacon!
I’ve been here a couple times before and every time, it’s a solid experience, with good food, a great staff, and reasonable prices. There’s plently of space for large groups and their bourbon list is extremely extensive—something that is standard for any good restaurant in Louisville.
Great dinner at Dish on Market. The shrimp and grits was crazy good!
We were surprised it wasn't busier because the food was great and reasonably priced. Wished we'd have known about it earlier in our week-long stay. There's something for everyone and everything we had was really good.
Simple, tasty, well presented food in a casual atmosphere that is good for a variety of dining reasons.
Menu was not the same as the open table app. We ordered a variety of dishes including chicken. Seems like they cooked all the food and waited on the chicken to be finished. Chicken was warm rest of food including chicken sides were not very warm. The shrimp and grits were cold.
We cancelled another reservation to go local and we were disappointed.
Appetizer took a long time to come out. When it did, it was barely warm enough. Entree came out cold. When it was redone, it was just warm enough (barely). Positive, they did comp the entree for the error.
staff was not well equipped for the pre-concert rush. We had a 6 45 reservation, the table wasn't ready because they'd sat someone in our place, we ordered right away (drinks, appetizers, and main course) and waited over 45 minutes for drinks and over an hour for food. there was only one server we could see for a HUGE section and it looked like kitchen staff was helping to run food. I had to send my steak back because it was overcooked and VERY sweet. On a positive note, everybody was very nice, my husband loved his food, the appetizers were great, and the bourbon list was impressive.
We wanted a quick dinner before we went to the theater. I had made a reservation and we arrived on time and were promptly seated. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. We ordered drinks which were very good (Bloody Truman). Our food came quickly and we had plenty of time to walk back to the Kentucky Center for the Arts. We will go back again on another theater night.
It was a wonderful experience! The service was great and she was very knowledgeable.
Never had a bourbon bacon bloody mary, it was a nice change.
Some friends and I went here for dinner before a concert. Really good Burgers and Fries! Great service and the price was very reasonable! Will go back!
Great place and food amazing!! Loved bourbon burger, chicken and waffles, and hot brown burger!!
Excellent service. Please ask for Jolie, an amazing server. And Amanda is a superb bartender.
Always good food, especially the fried chicken and the
Service was slow...sat us in the bar area and the bartender was by herself but only had two tables and one person at the bar. Food was good though and she was nice so that helped.
Food was great. We showed up early and the crowd was fairly light and we were seated right away. Our waiter was very helpful and gave us some great suggestions. We were not rushed at all and were very pleased with everything, especially the value.
The fried Chicken was great as always, served hot and juicy...wish I could have had another piece. The other meal items were great as well, tasted home made. The service was friendly and timely. Overall, a good meal for the two of us, at a very reasonable price. I plan to return!
Had a great dinner with our family. Server was very accommodating and helpful. Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
The food was very good. The waitress was very attentive and very accommodating.
Great little find in Downtown Louisville. Nice menu...not too many choices as to get lost in decisions, but just the right amount of offerings to please everyone. We had heard about the Fried Chicken and my husband picked that. The 3 pieces of perfectly crusted and browned chicken were HUGE! Plenty enough that we could have shared. The green beans and potato salad that accompanied it were just so-so though. I would have much rather been able to choose my 2 sides, as some of the other dishes sounded more pleasing. I chose a small Caesar salad. It was very tasty and the size was perfect. Our server was very pleasant and kept my husbands tea glass filled. Very good first impression and we hope to return!
Dive restaurant with substandard food. The service was outstanding and the only redeeming feature. Ordered fried chicken which was ok but I didn’t eat the mushy green beans or potato salad
Ate breakfest with my son. Awesome chicken and waffles. Large pancakes. Comfortable atmosphere.
They were great! Very accommodating
Food and service were great! Met some friends prior to a concert at YUM. Not too far of a walk especially when all the other restaurants were booked!
It wasn't bad. Service was good and the food was okay. It seemed a bit pricey for though.
walking distance to Yum Center so a great place to eat before a concert. The waitress was efficient and the food was very good. I had the burger and it was huge as well as delicious
Service was great. Typical burgers but the fries were yummy!
We were very pleased with our dining experience at the Diah. They accomadated us on short notice. Service was a above average. All staff were very friendly and helpful.
We went on July 4th so it was not busy. We had a nice relaxing meal with good service.
I would recommend the restaurant.
Awesome fried chicken. Great service. Don't let exterior dissuade you.
Food was really good! Waiter made the meal fun and was very attentive.
Feel the restaurant could do a cosmetic makeover. I would still come back for the food though :)
