Lovely place food was great will definitely be going back once the outside open up .
The service at Dirty Habit was excellent. The pre-dinner briefing on the location, the history of the building was really interesting. Our server was awesome; knowledgeable and personable. The drinks...were very good. You can sense the bartender enjoys what he does. The food was 10++, it was so so good. We had the District chicken and also the miso sea bass. Top notch preparation, presentation and flavor. Not very crowded; understated elegance. Will plan for a return visit!
Hi Suzy! Thank you for your wonderful review and recommendation! Have a wonderful day and I look forward to seeing you again soon. All the Best, Robert General Manager - Dirty Habit DC
Great! Excellent service and better food. A great place overall, would definitely come back again
First time going to dine in DC since the pandemic. The food was amazing, the service was great. I did not know this but they charge a service fee now as part of your meal. Our service fee came to $28 dollars. I asked if that was the tip and the waitress said no, that goes to all the servers, busers and bartenders. My tab came to $180 dollars with that service fee and they expect you to put additional gratuity on top of that. I have never seen this before and I will not be going back to a place that nickle and dimes you. Pretty much if you spend $200 dollars, get ready to spend $60 dollars in additional service charges.
Dear NickN, Thank you for enjoying Dirty Habit DC and for the kind words about the food and service. I am sorry the Service Charge was not well explained. Due to having Service Charge there is no obligation to add additional gratuity as well - through the Service Charge we are able to take care of our service team members making gratuity completely optional. Should you need any assistance with your check, please feel free to contact me directly. All the Best, Robert General Manager
An energetic hot spot with excellent food and a very creative drink list
Great place! Jacob was attentive and welcoming, along with every one we encountered. Will be back!
My friends and I did a Sunday brunch just before heading to a baseball game and we decided to head to Dirty Habit since many of the other restaurants in the area were fully booked. We had only been to Dirty Habit for cocktails in the past, so checking out their brunch options was something we looked forward to.
I would consider the overall experience relatively great. However, the seating arrangement was very questionable. We were a party of 5 and we're seated in a booth and chair hybrid setup which resulted in a very tight and uncomfortable seating experience. When one member had to use the restroom, we had to essentially play musical chairs to get around.
Besides this, the food and drinks were great (a bit pricey), as well as having a comical server.
Michael is the best server, he took great care of us for our birthday celebration. Please ask for him as he will take immaculate care of your party. Food was amazing and ambiance was great, perfect for a date night
Food was good. However …. pre dinner drinks had to be chased up several times and the arrived as the starters and main course arrived …all simultaneously. Very bizarre. Friendly but hopelessly incompetent wait staff. And…. when we asked for tea at the end of the meal no black tea was available. This is in an expensive Kimpton hotel. Surely to goodness they can manage tea?
We have eaten in this dining space several times before. In its iteration as Dirty Habit it was sadly very disappointing.
We tried the restaurant for the first time for brunch and apparently, their brunch menu had went live the day before so the items I wanted to order wasn’t available on the menu (American Basket, French Basket and Chix Waffle). That was disturbing because I had to settle for something that I could typically make at home.
The food, ambiance, and staff were amazing! Def a fun place to go grab drinks or a nice dinner. The only thing I’d change is the bottomless mimosas were very weak. Mostly OJ.
Second time during stay all the staff was friendly and attentive. It was our second time being served by the bartender who exhibited a cool confidence and warm demeanor!
Very nice. Trevor did a great job. Watermelon tartare was phenomenal and worth going for even if you don’t get anything else. New menu features include Kara -ok chicken sandwich which was great. New chef is terrific!
Dear Craig, Thank you for the acknowledgement of Trevor, he a wonderful example of the care, skill, and personality of our team members here at Dirty Habit DC. It is also a pleasure to see you enjoyed the new menu items! I hope you are able to visit us again soon - should you need any assistance with a future reservation, please do not hesitate to contact me. Have a wonderful day! Server Portia was phenomenal. Drinks wonderful. Good superlative!
Marginal at best. Food was very bland and lacked seasoning. Server brought out condiments to French toast but never the French toast! Waiter which also served as bartender had a hard time taking it off our tab when it never came! Bartender wasn’t really friendly and barely wanted to keep our bottomless mimosas (which was primarily juice) coming. He told the bar back guy they only have a few minutes left. Like wow, how?
The ambiance is what you pay for now it seems like and not quality food or service.
Oh and for my small party of 3 they charge a 20% gratuity automatically when the website states parties of 6 or more. So why would the server even care to be friendly.
Celebrated anniversary with friends here we had a quaint table for 8 Food and drink were great
The food was great and the ambiance was nice. Great location for a date or outing with friends.
Great service...the food was awesome and the mimosas were mixed to perfection!
Our waiter was very attentive, quick and friendly. I was disappointed in the food - very subpar.
Dear MDvadc, I do apologize you were not satisfied with you recent experience. As of June 2nd we will have a completely new menu and hope you will be able to come back and experience us again. Should you need any assistance with a future reservation, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Have a wonderful evening! All the Best, Robert General Manager - Dirty Habit DC
We tried Dirty Habit for our date night. The ultra-modern ambiance paired well with its gourmet dishes and elegant cocktails. It felt a little loud for a date night, but doable.
The service seemed a tad slow - we needed to call our waiter over to us. In retrospect, that wasn’t a bad thing for a date. We were able to talk amongst ourselves without being interrupted.
The truffle fries were delicious and of good portion. We ordered the salmon and the sea bass. Both dishes were plated well and tasted nicely. However, the portion sizes were a bit small for what I expected. The value for the meal was nearly there.
They implement a 20% “COVID gratuity,” which apparently helps pay for masks, sanitation stations, social distancing equipment, etc. A part of the gratuity also goes to the server. I found the included gratuity easy to overlook. I wish they were more explicit on how much the server receives of that gratuity.
Thank you very much for you review and I hope you are able to come back soon! Please let me know if you need assistance with a future reservation, I will be happy to assist. Have a wonderful evening! All the Best, Robert General Manager - Dirty Habit DC
Amazing! Such a cute find in the city. Glass restaurant in the center of the Kimpton Monaco hotel courtyard. Fantastic service by Trevor, bar drinks (even those off-menu) were DELICIOUS (recommend the portini), and the food was so so so good (tartare, beet salad, tuna, vegan curry lentils #spicy, house made linguini with pancetta and pesto, etc)! We took our last cocktails out to the courtyard to enjoy on beautiful outdoor furniture/sofas (which manager-type Roberta expertly carried on a silver tray out to the courtyard for us and made us feel like royalty) and enjoyed our last sips by the light of the stars and the roaring gas fire pit. Great city locale for these country lovers!
Dear AtlantanReview, Thank you very much for your wonderful review and your acknowledgement of our service team members Trevor and Roberta. I hope you are able to visit us again soon, and should you need any assistance with a future reservation, please feel free to contact me directly. Have a wonderful evening! Service was too slow. Drink came out incorrect. Appetizers was just okay
Great service, ask for Ivan... The brunch was delicious as were the mimosas. The staff was friendly and we had a blast!!!
WOW. What can I say about the Dirty Habit. If you are looking for a great night out with your significant other. Dirty Habit is it.
Located inside a hotel, when you first arrive you feel like your going into an upscale dinning.
Reservations are highly recommended for this restaurant as it gets fairly busy. We were seated and all the sleek furniture and romantic ambiance is what I liked the most. For me I really enjoy getting dressed up and dinning out. The food was fresh and tasted very well. The cocktails are strong but a little pricy.
The only odd experience I had was the restrooms were located on the 3rd floor. Although this may seem like a minor point, most restaurants have restrooms on sight in which you do not have to leave the actually business.
All and all Dirty Habit is a great place for an evening out and I highly recommend anyone look to grab a great dinner, along with a wonderful experience.
Dear Derrick, Thank you for this review, your feedback is an extremely important part of us being a success. I do apologize about the bathroom experience. I hope you are able to come visit us again soon, and should you need any assistance with a future reservation, please do not hesitate to let me know. Have a wonderful day! We love Dirty Habit
Great service and food ! Second time visiting location. Will recommend.
Out waiter was just lovely and made sure that the entire experience was special. As we transition to a more open environment he was so wonderful at putting us ease and helping us all relax and really enjoy what has become a special treat - eating out. The seas bass was delicious as were the appetizers.
Service was impeccable. Maybe the best I’ve ever experienced. Sincerely. Also, place has a cool ambience.
The apps were mediocre, but the dinner food is absolutely awful. Both our dishes were poor quality. Speaking for myself the steak I had was the worst steak I’ve ever had at a restaurant and it was around $40. Wouldn’t have paid $2 had I known.
Can’t give the service team enough credit though. They deserve much better quality food to work with.
LOVED! this place! The atmosphere, the food, the service all on point.
Such a great ambiance, the food was perfect! Loved our waiter! Just 5 stars all around!!
As a first time patron Travis was our waiter and we enjoyed ourselves. I took my aunt and work mom here for brunch to celebrate Mother’s Day and they had an amazing time. The Cobb salad was truly delicious with the salmon.
Great food and service.
Awesome place to enjoy company and have great drinks and food!
Amazing!! The entire staff was attentive and the food was amazing!!!! The tres leches french toast is delicious! Everyone was really spaced out too which made it easier to relax. I will definitely be back. :)
Dear Crystal, Thank you so very much for this fantastic review! I am so thrilled to see you would recommend us as well!! Please come back soon, and should you need any assistance with a future reservation, please do not hesitate to let me know. Have a wonderful day! All the Best, Robert General Manager - Dirty Habit DC
Great space. Food is great. Their private rooms are wonderful.
The restaurant tries to come across as more high end than it actually is. We made a reservation through OT and had to input our cc# and agree to a $35 fee if we canceled with less than 24 hours notice.
We arrived on time and waited for awhile to be seated outside. There were very few diners. Trevor, our waiter, was great. The drinks were weak and over priced. Everything was overpriced - $17.00 for a bowl of French onion soup...
The really annoying part is that at the very bottom of the menu, in very small font is the statement that a 20% service charge is added to ALL checks. I assumed this was gratuity for the servers but something made me ask if this was the case. I was told the servers only get a small portion of that 20% and the rest is "due to Covid related costs and them not raising their prices this year". This fee was not disclosed to me when I made the reservation online or when I spoke to someone on the phone confirming the reservation. We did not have a large party - just 2 of us. This of course was not Trevor's fault, and he was great, so we tipped him 20% in addition to the 20% service fee. The whole thing seemed a little shady to me. Of all the restaurants we ate at in the area last weekend, this was the only fee like this we encountered. It was also the least busy... There are so many amazing restaurants to pick from in this area - we would not dine here again.
Dear Foodie21, Thank your review, feedback is an extremely important part of a successful business. Although disappointed you felt the service charge is anything but honest, I have very much taken to heart your point and will have all platforms and our website edited to include such information. Thank you for the category suggestions and acknowledgement of Trevor (he is fantastic). I hope you will come back again soon! All the Best, Robert General Manager - Dirty Habit DC
So let me first state that this used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I have conducted many business meetings here and have fostered great connection the this venue. But I think since they have reopened they have fallen off the band wagon. Our server was perfect the hostess was perfect. But when it comes to efficiency I have to give them a poor grade. As an owner of five restaurants in midtown Atlanta and owning multiple restaurants in Manhattan and Brooklyn I know the order of how things are supposed to be done. And my last visit after not being g able to dine at dirty habit because of the temporary closure was a big let down. The worst part about it is when I tried talking to the general manager ( Robert Micheli ) just so he was informed he looked down upon me and was rude, disrespectful, and extremely condescending. Unfortunately I will not be eating here again. It’s a true disappointment. The worst part about it is that after his staff talked to him about my frustration he brushed it off and laughed. I don’t know any manger that would act like this. It was very immature and I will be speaking to 34th Floor Hospitality who manage the restaurant.
Dear Milton, When my staff came to me they were visibly upset after speaking with you, and were concerned after they saw the way you aggressively approached me - I made a few jokes off to the side to make them feel better. You being the owner of multiple 5 star restaurants in multiple states - I can only hope you do not treat your restaurant employees the way my team saw you treat me. I wish you the best. Robert General Manager - Dirty Habit DC
Unfortunately, found a long strand of hair on my steak AFTER it was in my mouth.
Dear Darryl S. I do apologize for this extremely unfortunate and regrettable situation. I had hoped after speaking and quickly agreeing to your recommended resolution you would have left this embarrassment at the table. I wish you the Best, Robert General Manager - Dirty Habit DC
Probably a great place for drinks but the entrees were not worth the cost. Computers were down and several patrons were upset with their cards not being able to be read. I was able to pay cash with no issue but still not great to have multiple upset customers in the dining area. Might come back for a cocktail and an appetizer but never a full meal. Beautiful location though.
Dear TristanK, Thank you for the recommendation! I hope you are able to experience us again in the future (and without any technical issues). Hope you have a wonderful day! All the Best, Robert General Manager - Dirty Habit DC
