It took a while for the waitress to take our order. I ordered my steak medium rare and when it came I out I was disappointed. It looked almost grey and was cooked through. The taste and texture was mealy.
Great food and Christian is really friendly!
food was good, but portions were very small and expensive compared to similar restaurants in DC.
Last minute decision to stay at the Hotel Monaco. Got a reservation at Dirty Habit. The prosciutto board is unreal but the pork chop is likely the best I’ve ever had. Thanks to Drew for bringing by some incredible wings and literally to everyone at DH, it was a treat.
Loved the food and decor
Dirty Habit is a DC gem that I've been going to for the past three years. The food is outstanding, from a classically trained, Korean influenced, Boulud vet. The cocktails are unique, using exotic ingredients and unusual spirits. The atmosphere is supremely relaxed, inside you can lounge at a table-side armchair amidst the industrial backdrop, and if the weather is nice you can go outside to the gorgeous courtyard bar which might be DC's best kept secret. I literally tell everyone I meet about Dirty Habit. There isn't a better place in the whole metro area to spend a night with friends or family over some shared plates and cocktails. Everything I've eaten here is amazing, but I was most recently wowed by the eggplant (charred and glazed with honey) and the whole cooked fluke (fried whole in a sweet soy vinegar sauce). In years past I've also had incredible duck here, don't miss it if it's on the menu.
Everything went well and service was awesome. Basic brunch but the French toast is delicious! I didn't rate them a 5 star because the host didn't accommodate our seat preference.
I absolutely loved the food and staff i most definitely will come back when i visit again.
Had a great server who recommended the appropriate drinks for our tastes. Great atmosphere located in a one of a kind hotel.
Will be on my list when I return to the DC area.
Given the reviews we read, we expected great service, fun cocktails and ok food. Was much better than this. Service was, indeed, terrific. Cocktails were fun and excellent. Had the fuji-La and prickly position. Both interesting, terrific and good size. It was the food that surprised us. It was excellent. Had snapper and burrata appetizers. Both interesting and excellent. Already a hit, as the only reason we go out to eat is to find food we cannot make ourselves. Snapper had us guessing, and the Burrata gave us idea that we'll easily be able to do at home (but wouldn't have thought of before). Main courses: Spaghetti with squid ink simple and delicious. Pork with all kinds of stuff (that's why I got it - I always like the stuff that goes with a dish) was excellent. And desserts (creme brulee and tirimisu) were terrific. We couldn't have been happier with the meal - interesting, different, and delicious - good service and, got restaurant week price, which made it even better.
The staff, food and drinks were all outstanding. Beautiful ambiance added to our delight.
I would have easily given this restaurant 5 stars. The food, drinks, waitstaff were excellent. The food was perfectly prepared. Staff made recommendations. Glasses were filled but bus boy did not interrupt dinner. I gave it a 3 star because the HOSTESS was so rude that we considered not even staying. If we hadn't been so hungry we would have left. She actually shrugged her shoulders that she didn't care when we replied to HER QUESTION. I've never been greeted or ungreeted at a restaurant like this. This place could be something. They need to start treating people right at the door. Get the chicken or the steak. Baked Alaska is too much for even 4 people. But fire the hostess!
Our server was wonderful, excellent service. Drinks were good too but the food was very disappointing. I ordered a medium rare filet mignon and both times it came out well done.
Loved the atmosphere, staff accommodated my table of 12 seemingly well. The food was delicious and everyone wants to go back! Great mojitos!!
We went on a Friday and randomly picked the place. Restaurant week had ended but they were still offering the restaurant week menu. The food was divine and the ambiance was really cool. Our server Melissa was attentive and accommodating to my allergies. She was also kind enough to tell me that the squid ink pasta was turning my lips blue and helped me remedy that problem. Thank you! I can’t wait to go back.
This was my second time coming here. The first time was good but this time was even better. The waiter made the experience very good. We had Rashad, he was amiable and funny. The food was great! We went during restaurant week brunch. The portion size was good and the meal was filling.
Loud table of
nice food. clock room too cold
Went for restaurant week and did the beverage pairing as well. Amazing food, friendly service, loved the vibe of the restaurant as well as the hotel it's housed in. A great spot for a date.
The service was outstanding! I went here during restaurant week and loved the cocktails of choice to pair with each course. The waitress was excellent with giving suggestions. Since it was my birthday they brought out a special birthday dessert which tasted very good. I can't wait to come back.
We went to Dirty Habit for Restaurant Week and it was a treat! Everything we had was delicious and I LOVED the cocktails and desserts! Besides, Hotel Monaco is such a great place to hang out!
We went to Dirty Habit for Restaurant Week, and it was fantastic. It’s a gorgeous restaurant with good food. The bar outside is also nice because it is in a courtyard sectioned off from the majority of the noise of the city. The drinks the waitress recommended to pair with our meals as part of the Restaurant Week special were one of the highlights. Definitely check it out if you are looking to impress someone.
Great experience, can’t wait to go back!!
Dirty Habit food was good, but the service not so good... the waiter was trying to entertain the whole time, refused to serve my friend a pineapple juice mimosa, dumped a breakfast plate all over my other friend's lap/dress... and then didn't comp anything.
This place is decent for a HH. They have a cool bar space in the back and outside. And the drinks and service are on point. Don’t eat here though. Food is below average and ridiculously overpriced.
I was intrigued by the name DIRTY HABIT and eager to take out of town business associates here during restaurant week. The atmosphere is fun and interesting, the service friendly and attentive, and we four were seated on time at 7 PM at a nice table. The food was the real disappointment. There were only about six entrees and after ordering we were informed that they were out of pork loin, the entree ordered by two of us. My second choice required a $15 upcharge and was the most ordinary filet mignon ever. I left half of it and the server seemed surprised when I declined her offer of a take-home box. None of our four entrees was a wow. The appetizers and desserts were decidedly better, however, we all left feeling let down. I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending this place for anything but cocktails.
The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff friendly and attentive, and the food is excellent. I highly recommend!
The food and service were both good, but there was nothing spectacular about this experience. I would consider returning if a friend of mine wanted to go, but I would not seek it out myself. The food was good, but not worth the price.
The food was amazing, service was fast, the servers were knowledgeable and friendly. A great time had over a great meal in an eclectic atmosphere!
We celebrated a 21st birthday with brunch. It is very quiet at 10:00 am then picked up around 11:00. Service was outstanding! Food was delicious. We enjoyed the bottomless DH Punch.
Our server was not very attentive. Did not like eating in the open bar room section. Prefer the seating as you arrive inside. More intimate and cosy. Not as good as before.
The presentation of the food and drinks was great. BUT the food wasn’t as great as I would have hoped.
Always a good spot for a quick dinner in that area
I really enjoyed myself here for a birthday brunch. The decor is stylish and beautiful and there’s tons of light. The drinks were tasty and flowing. The food was good on the whole — French toast was awesome, donuts were dry. Our server was efficient and he had fun with us!
That’s a yes for me!
Meeting an old friend for lunch and we arrived 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. No problem, the hostess, waiter and kitchen staff were fine with it. The meal came fast and it was great.
The restaurant was empty which meant it lacked atmosphere
Food was below average and over priced for Brunch. Our waitress was new to the restaurant however she didn't know the response to anything we asked about the menu (you would think if you're newly trained then it would be fresh in your mind). Very boring ambiance and very quiet (wouldn't recommend for a birthday brunch/dinner). Would only recommend for a quick drink.
Went for brunch on a Sunday. Great space and ambiance with the view of the courtyard, but the food was just so-so. Not bad but nothing amazing. It was pretty quiet/not crowded on a Sunday for brunch. Biggest complaint is the lack of a bathroom - you have to go far into the hotel to find one.
Delicious food. Great service. Beautiful restaurant.
Interesting ambience, quality food, we had an awesome server-loved him. Great for a pre theater meal. Recommend it!
