Outstanding food and service! Very impressed indeed! I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back. My only complaint was that our table was very close to other tables on both sides. The other people felt like they were on top of us, and almost knocked our table over when they had to leave their seats.
Went for restaurant week - great food and enjoyed the Malbec :)
The food was terrific, but the wine prices were ridiculous. Restaurant week menu was plentiful and every dish was delicious! Chicken wings were flavorful and short ribs were incredible.
Great! We were greeted warmly at the door. Emani arranged for our accommodations. The waiters were very helpful.
My husband and I drove down to DC for the weekend and stayed at the Kimpton hotel attached to the Dirty Habit. Having stayed at many Kimpton Hotels and knowing that the restaurants attached are usually very good and after reading the menu and some reviews on Open Table, I decided to make a reservation. My mistake. First, we were seated not in the restaurant but in the bar area at high tops, very uncomfortable. When we complained we were told that the restaurant seating area was really busy and we would be more comfortable in the bar!! There were lower regular tables off the bar area too, but they didn't seat us there either. I was very not happy. By the end of the evening the bar area filled up and my husband was being pushed by people juggling for space to stand with their drinks and screaming in their neighbors ears.
Now to the food, we ordered the brussels sprouts to share for a starter. I was amazed they even brought them out they were burned to a crisp. So oven done. Luckily, our entrees were perfect, I had the duck breast and my husband the steak frite. My husband mentioned ordering the truffle fries as a starter and I declined, so our waiter mentioned them with the steak frite. Then I noticed they charged us extra for the truffle fries on our bill! What a rip off.
We had reservations, we dress (I think) nicely, we are educated and therefor can speak nicely (my husband is a Dr. and I work in education), I don't believe we did anything that should have allowed the hostess to have treated us the way we were treated or treated anyone the way we were treated. I won't go back. I will go back to Kimpton, but not their restaurants.
The drinks and service were excellent... and the space is very hip. Our server, Annie, was wonderful. The food was just OK, though. My wife had the duck which wholly lacked seasoning. My steak was pretty good. The real winner was the fresh-baked brioche loaf with fois gras butter. We'd try it again with our eyes back on the cocktail menu.
Open Table suggestions & this placed did not disappoint, beautiful interior with a sweet, yet professional staff.
Great bustling bar scene. Had the short ribs and they were excellent! Very accommodating wait staff and friendly.
I don't have a detailed review we were just very pleased with the entire service. The salsify soup and wagyu tartar were fantastic, so was the brioche w fioe gras butter. The duck meatball served with the seared duck breast was fantastic (the table next to us ordered it too and agreed) . The manager really stepped up and made the experience all the more mememorable (I wanna say john, was his name)
We had great traditional brunch fare - which is exactly what our friend visiting from Germany requested. The food was quite tasty and well cooked. The breakfast burrito could use a bit more chorizo, though. Staff were freindly, efficient and helpful. At one point, a drink was spilled by a server (miraculously missing everyone at the table!), and a replacement was provided very quickly. We were impressed with the quick fix for what was a minor problem. We appreciated that we were allowed to linger over our meal for a while, with no pressure to give the table up.
Very eclectic, upbeat, hip atmosphere. Super posh inside with tasty food options. The manager was very nice and the staff was pleasant. Will be back
Steak frites amazing. Tables much too close and very awkward to get in and out of. That’s the only drawback to an otherwise very nice experience.
Unfortunately, despite booking a table on OpenTable, the restaurant was unable to accommodate us. We arrived 5 minutes early. They made no effort to resolve it and said we could sit at the bar (which did not have any seats available) or advised us to go to another restaurant.
Portions small and not great
Small menu few choices
Nice place for a drink and appetizers but the meal portions are small
The place was beautiful but the food and service was not equally as nice. I had to send back food (which I do not like to do) and was just all around disappointed with the experience. Even though I spoke to a manager, Lowery (food runner) is the only one that seemed to care that we were having a bad experience and tried to help.
My friends and I enjoyed a Sunday brunch with unlimited mimosas and punch. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. The food was very good and arrived shockingly fast. Unlike many brunch places in DC, while the food was quick, and the drink refills faster, we did not feel rushed and had a wonderful dining experience.
The restaurant did not have my reservation when I arrived. They made me wait at the podium while they discussed where to put me after I showed them my reservajon on my phone. They did not give me a wine list menu and it took forever to have the server come by. Very strange experience for a DC a restaurant like that.
I loved it! I will be back again! The restaurant is very nice. Food and drinks were excellent. Our waitress Stephanie was the best!!! 💓
Love Dirty Habit! Melissa, our server, was fantastic and very funny! The food was good but just a little overpriced, not major but just a little. The drinks were great but the moscow mules are served with way too much ice. Unfortunately, I went to Dirty Habit when it was freezing outside but the outdoor seating looks great and the ambiance was astounding!
Service was terrific, food was good, restaurant very quiet. It had to be since at lunch we were the only ones in it. It was January 2 so that might explain it.
This was my second brunch at Dirty Habit. The staff is super friendly, and they make sure to bring the bottomless mimosas coming! Such a good deal - $16 for bottomless mimosas and Brunch Punch. The food is delicious, and I think the brunch menu expanded since I was there in the spring. I had the Pastrami Hash, which was spicy delicious and the perfect portion. My boyfriend had steak and eggs, and my friend had the DHDC burger. We also ordered the donuts - definitely order the donuts, the are soft, moist and lemony perfection.
My wife, daughter and I went there for New Year's Eve dinner and were not disappointed. There was this wonderful prix fixe menu with items completely different than the normal menu. Those courses were insanely good and shows the creativity, passion and understanding of food that comes out of that kitchen. One of the most creative dishes was a halibut wrapped in cabbage, a preparation I have never considered. The fish was absolutely amazing, as was the dessert course which consisted of a chocolate lava cake. Overall a wonderful dinner and I can't wait to go back.
Welcoming service. Food and cocktails are great. My favs were the Shiso Twisted and the Tuna Poke.
The staff was so friendly, accommodating and kind. The hamburger and truffle fries were amazing as well. A perfect pre-game dinner spot!
Timothy and Rai, outside valet and bell hop, went above and beyond to help us. Also, the hostess that was working on 12/28, in the evening, was also very kind. She even charged my dying iPhone so I could be sure to get the babysitters call! Again, everyone went above and beyond!
Didn't have a very good experience. It was Christmas Eve and we were looking for a nice place for family dinner after show at nearby theater. We were seated in the bar section, with multiple TVs blaring, and then ignored for 20 minutes. Finally got someone to pay attention to us and got served water! When we asked if we could sit someplace with a little less of a sports bar environment, we got sort of a snippy answer from the hostess. My daughter has been a waitress and normally always defends restaurant staff, but even she agreed that the response was not what one would have hoped especially on Christmas Eve. After all that, we simply got up and left. We won't be going back.
My birthday dinner was amazing! I absolutely loved the fried chicken wings! The ambiance was great!
I’ve been here a few times and I love this place. I’ve been told it was great when It was poste but now with the awesome patio seating area it’s totally a knock out. My fave are cocktails and food. Hands down best old fashioned I’ve had. I usually get it with old forester. If not that, then woodford. They recently switched up the menu. Gone is the pork belly dish. Sad about that but finally a pasta dish! I’ve been hoping for a pasta dish here and it’s amazing. Tagliatelle! Nice thick al dente noodles with rich sauce and lamb. The fluke is mind blowing. If you like fish it’s a must try. Calamari and truffle fries are always on point. My fave place to go to for happy hour. Try the rude bwoy, old fashioned and rice and roses.
Really good service! It was a bit loud as it got busy in the evening but it was not annoying or anything. Loved the short ribs we ordered. It was fantastic!
My wife and I are both gluten free with Celiac Disease. The majority of the menu was GF friendly. Overall, the food was solid but the short ribs were a little fatty. The cocktails were fantastic. Darryl, our waiter, was a 10/10! Will definitely be back as the Monaco Hotel is one of our favorites in DC.
