Dirty Habit Ratings and Reviews
Made reservation for 5.45pm got seated at 6.15pm didn't get our food until 6.35pm. they brought appetizers at the same as the main Courses. I ordered a 100 dollar bottle of white which arrive warm. we had to rush to get to the concert. I thought 1h30 mn would have been enough to have a nice easy dinner.
I understand that you can be overwhelmed on a concert night but the get more staff.
The food was excellent and our waitress Bethel very accommodating.
The overall experience was just ok. Too bad!
We walked in on a Friday and asked if there were any tables available. The hostesses response was “girl, no”. So I went on open table and easily made a reservation and walked back in. When I said I was able to get a reservation on open table, the hostess then informed me that it’d “be a quick turn” and we’d need to be fast. I’ve literally never been treated like this at a restaurant before and the food wasn’t anything special. Definitely won’t be back.
Dinner was pretty good but not remarkable. We went here before the Caps game for dinner & again post-game for drinks. Our post-game experience was disappointing. No food whatsoever (they found a bowl of peanuts for us), no wait servers working in the back bar so we had to visit the bar to reorder drinks (we were sitting at a table). Restrooms are on 3rd floor (though we were told that since the hotel/restaurant is a Smithsonian building, they could not add public restrooms to lobby/1st floor). Would return but hope bar service improves.
Only order the truffle fries. Steak was literally cold. Even The salad was a fail. The rest of the menu is awful. Really. And they don't keep up with the restroom..men's and women's. Gross. Feel sorry for guest that stayed at the hotel.
Went to DC with a friend as this was his first time in the US. We found this place with good high ratings. We booked a reservation but got a little lost as we didn't find the entrance. It was inside Hotel Monaco but did have a side entrance. We got the Rib Eye Steak (Steak Frites) and the DHDC Burger and it was great. Service wasn't excellent but good enough.
Poor service was provided. Server was not made eye contact nor introduced himself and offered doughnuts to start out with until we wait for our friends. Drink was not prepared to my liking which I expressed to our waiter and I added that I am fine with my water. He still brought an other drink and kept it on our bill. Two servers seemed to have confusion identifying their section and they both introduced themselves as our server, female server even corrected me saying, no I am your server. We were not finished our plates when the male server were rushing us by trying to take our plates. Our check was dropped without asking if we were ready. We have planned to have dessert but never offered. With the check already on the table we have asked server #2 for the dessert menu which she stated “ we don’t have” and she explained the 3 options which we declined. The food was good quality, however crab-cake had corns in it which was unexpected and was not noted on menu. My food choice would have been different if I know there was corn added. Overall did not reach our expectations.
Great vibe, good service, EXCELLENT CALAMARI, overpriced. I like this place and will probably try it again because the high points were so good. The rest of the story is so-so: Cocktails & cheese board- meh; crispy brussel sprouts- excellent flavor and texture but greasy.
Service was EXCELLENT! The staff greeted customers as they walked in or approached the host stand. Our server in particular (tall, slim black guy) was very knowledgeable about the menu offerings as well as drink specials. I was actually here with a friend for our weekly get-together and I may have to start coming here regularly. Especially for business-purposes. VERY NICE PLACE!!! And the food was superb. I had the Duck and it was presented very well. The plate and sides were not "overdone" (presentation-wise). it was perfect and tender!!
The worse restaurant in DC. Don’t let the nice pics fool you. Very average food and the service was terrible. We go to lots of restaurants and I’m not trying to be picky at all but this place was extremely disappointing. It’s as if the wait staff didn’t want to be there! Kept reminding our waitress about our drinks. The food was mostly fired options. No one greeted us when we walked in. Overall not a good place for dates or even group gathering. The bar is just ok, that’s the only good thing I can say about this place.
The food was the star of the show! Those grilled oysters were fantastic and so too was the rest of our meal. Service, while professional, was rather slow, e.g., wine late for the meal. The ambiance is just as advertised - had a late 80s Eurovibe and very dark, but the the tables are nice, seats comfortable, staff very friendly.
Not vegetarian friendly or accommodating. Asked the waiter what was vegetarian and was told the menu changes and there was no entree now, so fries. We spent over 100 dollars here-was asked to leave when I brought in a sandwich from elsewhere so I could eat dinner. Really disappointing.
The bartender was great. Revamped outdoor space aims for more sophistication, but is the same , if not worse. The new Indoor dining area is nice, despite a slightly over-neurotic manager. Unfortunately, the food is very heavy on deep fried. In the age of health consciousness it seems odd. I am not suggesting carrots and lettuce, but having that many items deep fried with no alternatives (I asked) seems odd. Overall, my impression is that they’re trying too hard to be. It’s hip and different from the old version - a recipe for failure . Won’t be back.
The ambiance is very modern, sexy, and chic. So when I saw that they had a brunch I knew it was on...I just hope they had reservations for the time-frame we were vying for. To my surprise they had the reservations and I was elated!
So, everybody meets a Dirty Habit and If you've never been then it's kind of hard to find (something I enjoy. lol) , but we were promptly seated. Our Server David was nothing short of amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and one of my friends had a Birthday and he made sure to make her birthday very memorable at Dirty Habit.
Appetizer wise we had the Truffle Fries and the Donuts. Both were pretty good. They really know how to make good truffle fries. I was pleased, because the last few places I have been with truffle fries has left me underwhelmed.
I decided on going with the Lobster Poutine and boy am I glad I did. I want to thank Yelp for the reviews as well as David. When they mentioned this is a hearty meal, they are not lying. You get your money's worth and it has pretty decent portions of Lobster. The majority of the group ordered this dish and everybody seemed to enjoy it. One other person ordered the Burger and mentioned it was really good as well.
I have to mention the bottomless Mimosas ( or punch deal). It was amazing. The punch of the day was a bourbon with lemon juice top with Prosecco. I did not even touch the mimosas, the punches had me feeling good. The manager I believe his name was JoJo (forgive me if i'm wrong, he's not hard to miss. It's the bald guy dressed really nice) was attentive and came over and introduced himself and gave us a little history about his background. Overall the service + food was amazing. I can definitely see myself adding Dirty Habit to my Brunch line-up.
