This was our first time there and we will be back!!! Awesome food.
From the moment we entered the door we felt valued and at ease. Our waiter was perfect - enough attention at the right time. Food was amazing - all dishes were tasty, hot, and perfectly spiced. Deserts were outstanding. We will be back soon!
Dry pulled pork, under cooked chicken wings and they were out of white wine
I asked to be seated close to the stage but was given a booth on the complete opposite side of the restaurant. We didn't end up staying to see the band since it was packed near the bar area. Won't go again.
My girlfriend and I came here for a date night. I would highly recommend putting in a reservation. We came in on a Friday night around 6:40 and it was a nice size crowd. Parking was a challenge but ended up getting lucky after a few circles around. We were greeted at the door and seated immediately after we notified them of our reservation. A very entergetic waitress came over about 5 mins after we were settled. She was very helpful as it was our first time here. Orders were taken apps came out about 10 mins later. As soon as the plates were removed our entrees came. Super fast service. Quality all around. Amazing food! Must try the Wango Tango wings. 👌🏾
Best BBQ ever! We look forward to the Capital Region Garden show because we know the dinner will be great.
We had a great time! The food and drinks were excellent, as always. Service was quick and friendly. Our server was Mary Ellen (I believe that's her name-- apologies if I'm misremembering). She is always great. We are regulars at Dino, and it was so nice when Mary Ellen welcomed us back. Thanks for a great dinner!
Why go anywhere else for BBQ in the Capital Region?
Caught it as they were setting up a band for St. Patrick’s Day, so I kept getting blasted with cold air when they opened the doors. I suspect that had to do with the extra noisy and busy night they were having.
Other than that, an excellent dining experience typical o Dinosaur and their staff.
Quick service despite a large packed restaurant. Food great. Drinks great. Staff very pleasant and attentive.
We all had a great time. The food was excellent and Gary was very funny!
We were immediately seated when we got there. We tried the fried green tomatoes & spicy shrimp this time, both were amazing. We also had our usuals, the 1/2 rack of ribs, chicken sandwich, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese & coleslaw. This place has never disappointed us!
They had some server issue and refused to seat us.
Awesome lunch at Troy Dino. We’ve eaten at Bflo and Roch locations as well Food was great!
They are busy, always. If you have a mild aversion to spicy food, like my wife, you cannot even order mac & cheese without it being a bit spicy/peppery. That said, the barbecue was on point, the drinks were refilled and our waitress was super friendly and more than accommodating. We will go back... at least I will ;)
We drive here about 3-4 times a month from Pittsfield, MA. It’s worth every bit of the drive. Always perfect.
Excellent Food and Service! We were seated directly down the walkway entrance and it was fairly cold with people constantly holding the door open. Besides that, fantastic experience!
Met friends out for dinner. First time there. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Waitress could have been a little nicer. Not very friendly and we were there before the dinner rush so she wasn't busy yet. Would go again. Just have another server.
Very good experience at Dinosaur BBQ. We didn't have to wait long for a Saturday night. Good service. One of the meals were wrong but it was quickly fixed. Food was excellent.
Fantastic food and great service makes this the go to restaurant to enjoy a great family meal.
Very tasty BBQ served at the right temp. Even the sides were all very good. Service was spot on and friendly. It was pretty loud but it was a Saturday evening. The big downside here is parking. It sucks. Not even close to enough spots. A narrow one lane road leads under the bridge to another parking area that was also packed. Best bet is to park someplace else and walk a few blocks. NOTE: this section of Troy NY seems much busier than in the past few years. Parking was tough to find in other areas too.
Great good , 5 of us with 5 different meals , all awesome! Forgot iPhone there and called and they had set it aside for me ! Thank you!!
Waitress was excellent. All employees we had contact with were extremely friendly. Management can feel very good about their staff.
Rushed me out. Should not take 9:45pm reservations if they want to get out by 10pm
We had a great time eating great food and drinking great drinks for my brother's birthday. The service was awesome our food and drinks were on time and tasty! Thanks Julie! You were awesome!
Chose this restaurant for a business meeting based on Trip Advisor rating. The group was all from out of town. Pleasantly surprised on the service, presentation and great taste of the food. Recommend without qualification.
Favorite restaurant in Troy. Terrific, tangy barbeque, especially ribs. Drunken shrimp, a must. Generous portions. A helpful server topped off a birthday celebration by exchanging a pale beer for preferred stout at no charge.
Ribs were a little overdone. The rest of the meal was fine.
Always love the Dinosaur, grew up on the Syracuse location and maybe because I have those memories the food seemed to taste better there. The Q was spot on sides fell flat.
Love this place!!! Great food, great atmosphere, great beers on tap!!!
Had reservations for 6:30...our food didn't come till 7:15...very bad service. The french fries were fair...kind of soggy...very small portions...I wouldn't recommend going there.
I took my son and a friend. It was one of my son’s birthday presents combined with a concert afterward.
We were immediately welcomed by our super helpful and friendly server, and absolutely everything we ordered was just delicious. So much so that we had a tough time not eating every scrap and were stuffed!
That’s an observation, not a complaint!
We look forward to coming back.
Terrific meal great service on RPI parents weekend. Nice job! Brisket was amazing so was chicken but all good.
Tremendous, all-around!! Disappointed in needing to clarify that I showed for the reservation and the like. That part has me a tad jaded. It was the restaurant that failed to take my name.
the salmon was a little old, slight taste of mold - server did her best but something with kitchen on 10/22 and food was really slow to be delivered - Troy NY
This was my first time. I had a good time. The food was good. However, waitress forgot my salad. I was there for the live band, but your sound equipment wasnt working. PLEASE give Peter Annello another opportunity to play. I will come again. Thank you kindly!
We came to town to see a show and had heard some good things about the chain in general, so we decided to give it a whirl.
We had reservations and were seated quickly upon arrival. There are a fair number of things to look at around the place which keeps you busy if you do have to wait.
Our server was Gary who was very friendly and personable. He took our orders and quickly brought us our drinks (diet Cokes). I had the Pork Plate (I cannot give the whole name here, let me just say you would get the first half of the name if you ate enough of these plates); my wife had the 1/2 BBQ Chicken. Both were very tasty with an ample but not overwhelming size. We decided to forego dessert but some of the offerings look interesting.
Parking was okay, although a bit tricky to get to if you arriving at dusk or night. Price before tax and tip was just under $38- a fairly good value for this meal. Give it a try if you are in the area.
Very good food. The BBQ chicken was excellent! We got a whole meat platter and it was all good. Service was very nice. Homemade dessert was super yummy! Fun atmosphere. Kid/family friendly.
We went on a Sunday at 2:30 and it was pretty busy. The hostess asked if we would like to eat inside or on the patio. We said patio and were given direction on how to get there rather than being taken there. Upon finding our way there we looked and found out there were no tables open. We walked back through the restaurant to the hostess desk and informed her there were no open tables. She looked at us and said "Oh" grabbed two menus and walked away expecting us to just follow her I guess. We were seated and even with the poor start the food made up for it. I would recommend to ask for BBQ sauce to be put on the side rather than on the meat. Sauce was good just a bit to much of it for my taste. We will definitely go back again.
I usually love this restaurant but the wait time after being seated was over 40 minutes. We were about to leave when our meals was served. Avoid Saturday night.
