I love Dinosaur BBQ in Stamford, the food is very good and I like the atmosphere. Our waiter wasn’t the most attentive, but the hosts were very friendly
Excellent BBQ and menu options.
It used to be significantly better two years ago. Portions went down along with some of the quality, prices stayed the same or went up. Used to be a 5 star casual bbq spot.
The sweetheart rib deal is delicious and very reasonable
Our waiter was fabulous. But it took an unreasonable amount of time for food to come out. At one point our watier had to go into the back and just make a side salad for my daughter himself. On the positive side, once our food did come out it was very good. They even took our nachos and my son's dinner off the bill as a courtesy.
We waited an hour for our meals.
We were told the kitchen could not handle the rush they had.
Strange. It is a large restaurant.
Maybe they should not have so many tables.
Always good food and good value.
The one negative is that we felt pushed out
Never offered coffee or desert
Just presented the check
Nice fun atmosphere and food was amazing, server and service was good.
Loud, kids running everywhere. Jennifer, our server, was amazing. The food was excellent.
Delicious food and WONDERFUL server!! Would definitely go back.
Went here to celebrate our son’s birthday. I ordered the brisket and pulled pork combination; my son and husband ordered the brisket and ribs combination and my daughter ordered steak. The ribs were so tough that they couldn’t eat them; the steak was so chewy that she couldn’t eat it and the pulled pork and brisket were so smothered in bbq sauce that..guess what...I couldn’t eat it. It was loud; the floor sticky and filthy. Took my daughter to the restroom and the vulgar profanities scribbled on the wall were absolutely disgusting. The only good thing about our visit was our waiter was very nice.
Son plays soccer at Chelsea Piers on Saturday evenings. We come most every weekend, often with friends and family. Hostesses, wait and bus staff are friendly. Service is super quick. Food is excellent. It’s not like I’m in bbq heaven, but for a place of its size it’s damn good. Make reservations because the wait can be a hour and a half on the weekend.
The wings are great. So is the shrimp boil. The pulled pork is very good. The ribs and brisket are better.
Corn bread is legit. BBQ beans with pork is also great.
Overall food was very good and plentiful. Had an issue with table readiness and manager immediately rectified it and credited all appetizers. Would go back.
Service was spotty at best- waiter did not understand my food allergy and did not remove an item that I am allergic to from my meal. They brought be a new meal. I had to wait 25 minutes and the hamburger was raw in the inside. The only upside was that they did take it off the bill.
It's always excellent with lots of choices. Rib are great as were all the sides. Very reasonable prices and good service on a very busy Saturday night.
We eat at this restaurant often. Great ambiance and the food is terrific. Overall, from management, to the wait and bar staff, the employees are very engaging and positive. That was not the case with our hostess last week. When we entered there were two hostesses at the greeting station. I told one that we had a reservation for 6:45 and we would love a booth if possible (I had also noted as such on OpenTable). One hostess (who was pleasant) looked and found us one. The second hostess, grabbed menus and with out saying a word, started walking away. Apparently leading us to a table. We followed. She put the menus on a table, never saying a word to us and walked off. Normally, we might not take notice, but, it was so uncharacteristic of the restaurant and the employees that we have encountered that it must be noted.
One of my favorite BBQ restaurants. The Syracuse location (original) is by far the best as the atmosphere is truly a biker bar and the portions are much better than the Stamford location. However, if you love BBQ, Dinosaur is one of the best! The ribs are amazing, and I highly highly recommend the pulled pork platter (my go to). The Mac and Cheese is always a great side (and you can do a double!). Make sure you save room though because the desserts are incredible, my favorite being the Mud Pie.
There is an extensive menu, but we always order the ribs. They are wonderful. Nice selection of sides and my husband was very happy with the beer our server, Chuck, suggested. Prices are very reasonable. I like the convenience of making a reservation on Open Table. There is a large parking lot--another plus.
We were celebrating my son's 9th birthday and they were out of Chocolate Ice Box Cake...his favorite. So we didn't get a dessert with a birthday candle. This was our second time visiting when they ran out of chocolate ice box cake!
Understaffed. Poor Service. Long wait time for Drinks and Food. Not much else to say.
Not bad - I would try it again. The steak that my daughter ordered was the best dish that we received - probably because it's freshly prepared. Most everything else is pre-prepared and simply assembled when you order it (makes sense - you can't smoke pork to order). Food was good, but nothing blew us away.
We all ordered ribs based on recommendation from friends (including my wife who had tried them before at Rochester, NY) and we enjoyed it, the sauces were really good. The side dishes were 5 stars worthy, the only downside was that the ribs were a little overcooked and weren’t as soft as expected.
first time for me, but not the last. one of the best bbq places i have been too. really good food and a fun place to dine.
The food was very tasty and the portions were adequate. The barb service could have been a little faster, however we went at a very busy time.
Fun loud environment. Food never disappoints.
Food was underwhelming. Server was less than enthusiastic for first timers.
High marks for Cynthia, our server, who was attentive and professional.
Food came surprisingly quick. Pulled pork was not as hot as other meats. Ribs and Sides all good.
Excellent and even better than our last time here when we thought it was really good. Ribs were delicious and very meaty. Our sides were really good too. Prices are very reasonable. Our server Marvin was a real pro too.
Dinosaur BBQ came highly recommended and did not disappoint. I will definitely return.
Very Energetic with reasonably priced food. Good parking and easy access. Great for the whole family!
The side dishes were very good. Oddly enough the ribs were not very impressive. They seemed dry and had a lot of gristle in them. The flavor though was quite nice, and they were good with barbecue sauce.
good barbeque . mac and cheese was very good . ribs were excellent
My husband and I visited for the first time and loved it. I had the jerk salmon it was delicious! We will be back.
We love Dinosaur, but this was our first visit to the Stamford location. Either it’s gone down hill or this restaurant isn’t up to the usual Dinosaur standards. Buns were burnt, the pork was fatty, burnt and gristly. No sweet potatoes. Service was fine, but the food was lousy. Won’t be back, at least to this location. :(
Very close to a true southern BBQ restaurant. Food was ok, a bit overdone, sides were not the best, but service was excellent, and value for price was reasonable. Good selection of beers.
Party of 8 for my sons birthday. Everyone liked the good. Wish they had heakthy side options instead of just side salad & greens. Overall- fun place. Good food
As usual service was excellent. Food quality of the special entree 1/2 fried chicken was cooked perfectly. Crispy flavorful coating, not greasy with tender moist chicken throughout all pieces, two legs a thigh and breast piece. Great value and quality. The 1/2 rack of house ribs of course did not disappoint, fall off the bone cook with a tangy slightly spiced dry rubbed...excellent. Overall a consistent meal. Mixed drinks a bit pricey for their size but again in general a great meal and great service.
Great food great waitress, great ambiance
