Dino's Steak & Claw House
Dino’s Steak and Claw has an incredible menu and amazing ambiance working in its favor. You can find it in the historic Grapevine area of Dallas. It is in a vintage bank building, and once through the doors, you’ll immediately notice that much of its classic look remains intact.
Of course, you’ll soon be busy with the menu at Dino’s Steak and Claw. As the name suggests, this restaurant is all about surf and turf. However, there is also plenty of poultry to be enjoyed too. You can order things such as beef medallions, Atlantic salmon or a fresh salad. While you eat at Dino’s Steak and Claw, a local pianist will keep you entertained with some light music.
Great atmosphere fun time
We had the Claws for Appetizer, they were awesome. We had the Filet , very hard to beat. Would strongly recommend this place to anyone
We had a party of 8 so they put us in a private room. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was great!
Great steaks, good wine selection. Can be noisy but I like the live piano. My only negative is the price of the specials. My father's steak special was $56, which I think the wait staff should mention along with their description.
A restaurant could have the best food in the world, but if the service isn't there, I won't be back. Conversely, a restaurant with decent food and great service will see me again and again.
Dino's has delicious and tasty food, however, the service is what earned the 5-Star rating!
We enjoyed Crab Cubes for an appetizer, I had the Wedge Salad, and shared a Porterhouse. I sampled my dining companion's Lobster Bisque, and it too was amazing.
During our meal, we were attended by outstanding servers, were visited by the Maître D', Manager, and had a wonderful conversation with the Lead Bartender.
The food was extremely good, however, it is the impeccable service that I will fondly remember about this place.
I will definitely be back the next time I am in the area.
Fabulous dinner. The filet and scallops were cooked to perfection and the ambiance with the piano player was perfect for a night out.
With so many options this is a great local gem. The steaks were perfectly prepared and the seafood was excellent. Everything was topped off with an out of this world creme brule! The wait staff was attentive and available, but not hovering or non-existent. Great food, great place, will be back.
It was amazing
Good atmosphere and good location on Maine street in DT Grapevine. Live pianist was a fun touch. My Sea bass was cooked too well done, and Risotto was overcooked and mushy. Enjoyed our date night but food could have been better.
we don't go to these places except for special occasions, and i thought saturday's experience was just so so. the service seemed to take a long time. we waited for our food for what seemed way too long. the food was good, but not knock me down awesome like the price should tell me it should be. the ambiance was excellent though. really like how the place was set up, but i'm sorry, we probably won't be coming back very soon.
Food was great. My teenage girls and I had a 5:15 reservation and there was not a sole in the restaurant. We were immediately taken to a table back in corner by bar, and right where staff stands. I asked to be seated somewhere else and t
This is probably not a fair review. The week before we went to Bohanan's in San Antonio. Dino's is in an old bank building and offered a wonderful atmosphere. We sat upstairs looking over the bar area which was a bit loud for a while. It did calm down and the noise level wasn't bothersome during our dinner. My wife had their surf & turf (filet & scallops). She said it was a very good dish. I had their 16oz Bone-In Ribeye. It was okay but sub-par for a prime cut of beef. The service was wonderful and the prices were reasonable. We would probably try others before going back but we wouldn't steer clear of Dino's.
Food, service, and ambiance make this a perfect place for a special occasion or date. We enjoyed the pianist and ease of making a reservation at the last minute!
We truly enjoyed our evening at Dino’s. Wonderful food, expertly prepaired. The staff was completely accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble for a customer. Friendly, professional, presenting themselves well. Loved the pianist. She takes all requests. Even songs that haven’t been played for 50 years. Great location, beautiful interior. Nice selection on the menu. Excellent bar. Treat yourself to a evening here. You will be glad you did.
There are several fabulous choices to eat in downtown Grapevine. Don't waste your fine dining experience here.
The ambiance was quaint and welcoming, the wait staff initially seemed to be on top of service, until the food issues began. We started with crab claws that were decadent. Then one of us ordered a surf and turf plate - steak cooked medium well instead of medium rare as ordered and one of the two scallops was overcooked so bad the chewiness never stopped. The next order was a filet- once again overcooked from medium rare to medium well. The third order was the recommended scallop risotto. The sauce was so overpowering you couldn't enjoy any of it and the scallops were overcooked as well. When we sent the scallop risotto back after only one bite, no one came to see if there was another entree we wanted or to question what was wrong. When I brought it up again to the waiter, he said "well it's one of my favorites". The table, still hungry, ordered dessert. The creme brulee was watery and poured off the spoon when you held it up, but the cappuccino pie was wonderful. We were charged full price, even for the scallop risotto that was not eaten AT ALL. After waiting for over 20 mins to speak to the manager, who never came, we finally left.
Such a disappointment after a fabulous day of shopping and wineries in downtown Grapevine. Trust me, save your time and money and head south a couple of blocks to Bob's or go back to the Gaylord's steakhouse where you can truly experience fine dining.
The server was okay. We have been to Dino’s in the past and always had servers that were very friendly and attentive. The server we had, also had some type of assistant that helped clear the table and refill drinks. This person was a bit creepy as he would stand close to our table and the minute we finished with a dish or utensils he immediately picked them up and took them away. It was very awkward.
Disappointing. Noisy, expensive, subpar seafood. Server was great but couldn’t overcome the negatives.
Second time to visit here and both times it has been perfect. The service is great and the food even better.
Great specials and food. Service and food were prompt
Went to Dinos to celebrate my husbands 31st birthday, and they did not disappoint! Food was delicious and cooked perfectly! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and very kind. Highly recommend, five stars for us!
We made a Saturday night reservation and had an amazing time. The food was incredible and the drink selection is high end. Overall a great time.
Perfect. Great service, wonderful steaks, good drinks. Terrific ambiance. Are upstairs with a view of the front door. Great spot.
Portions Were huge. Was disappointing to be seated next to loud babies when other tables were available. Great atmosphere.
We made a reservation after reading reviews and a friend’s recommendation. Our server, Missy, was outstanding. The crab cubes were a tasty appetizer. Unfortunately, the steaks were subpar. I had a bone-in ribeye that appeared to be a low end choice cut instead of prime. It had so much tendon that it was hard to cut with the steak knife (I was literally moving the table trying to cut it.) Honestly, I have had better steak at Texas Longhorn for far less in price.
We do not plan on returning.
Nice atmosphere; traditional elegant decor. Service was excellent. Main course - we had the rib eye, bone in filet and New York strip. All delish and perfectly cooked. Crab cake appetizer delicious. Shrimp cocktail over cooked and tough; otherwise this would have been five star review.
Food was wonderful and the service was outstanding. We loved the piano music, will definitely go back!
The service from the waitress was poor. She had a stained uniform and didn’t seem to know the menu or what was available. The other water waiter was awesome!
Food was just ok. This is billed as a prime steak and seafood place but it was more like a 2 star restaurant.
Outstanding service , music and dinner!
Great for date night. It's moderate for a family place, especially when you have kids that don't eat much.
Let me be clear, I have high expectations when I go to a good/expensive steakhouse so read this in light of very high expectations. Dino's was not bad and you can certainly get a good meal here. It just wasn't a great meal. While my expectations are high, I was entertaining clients and some of them were not used to high end steakhouses and felt their meal was average as well. The sides were a real letdown with mashed potatoes that tasted like they had been sitting and hardening for hours. The veggies were so al dente they should have been represented as raw. The scallop apps were really good and the steaks were cooked perfectly so all in all, it was good but just not worthy of more stars.
Great place!! Loved the food!
We always make it a point to eat here during Grape Fest. The atmosphere is casual/lovely. The service is awesome! The food is impeccable! The crab cakes are delish! The special for the eve was a filet mignon with scallops accompanied with mashed potatoes and veggies. The steak was perfect and the scallops were like butter. I recommend any of the salads and the bisque, YUM!
Celebrated a birthday here with family and was very impressed with the entire dinner. Most impressive was the food, starting with excellent salads. The filet mignon was exceptional - one of the best I have had (ordered with the au poivre sauce). Also, very good wines and tiramasu. A gem in old Grapevine - delicious!
Food was great! Service was terrible! Our water glasses were never refilled and we only had water.
A lady fell while we were there no one tried to assist her nor followed up with her.
Happy Hour I drink prices are only offered at the bar area, and all happy hour drinks must be consumed at the bar.
This place isn’t visitor friendly. Locals may love it but if you are visiting you may want to find some place different.
Very good food !!
We went to Dino’s for my birthday. It was a very nice dinner and experience. Service was amazing and food was fantastic. It was slightly loud with the piano but still very enjoyable!!!
Great service! Very thoughtful server. Party of 8 and was always taken care of. Will be going again soon.
I love Dino’s for it’s romantic setting. Too many new restaurants are designed to look modern- which feels a bit cold if they aren’t filled with people. Dino’s also gives you the feeling that you are family- they know you. Even though our favorite waiter Larry wasn’t working that evening- we still left feeling great!
I went there for a birthday dinner, and it was very nice
Celebrating our daughter’s 21st birthday dinner. We were seated at a table upstairs that looked out over the atrium below, as the soft music of the pianist wafted up pleasantly. The ambience of the entire restaurant is historic, well-appointed and unspoiled. Dimly lit, it is relaxing.
The three of us ordered two steaks and a Chilean sea bass. My steak & lobster were prepared just as requested. My daughter’s bone in filet was thick and tender. My wife loved her sea bass. We shared and finished everything.
Excellent experience but, with a few cocktails, expect a bill to match it. Great value for special occasions dining.
