Great place for great italian. I would recommend any of the pasta's under the First Course. They're all pretty filling. And the bread is great!

We absolutely love Dino’s. We have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The food is classic, unpretentious yet well developed and refined. And excellent quality to cost ratio

The menu has expanded and it's all very good. The goat and wild boar are my favorites, but the pastas my table mates had were quite delicious. Dino's also has an excellent wine list and corkage policy. No corkage fee on Sunday Monday or Tuesday nights. We enjoyed some excellent old wines from my cellar. Our server even provided a decanter.

We were very pleasantly surprised with this find. Amazing food. The bruschetta with greens was great as were our main dishes. Small place, very unpretentious, but great food!

My sister was in town visiting and I wanted to show her the "DC Brunch scene". We arrived a little early, not realizing they didn't officially open util noon! The place was empty and they were still setting up, but they very graciously offered to seat us and gave us a cup of coffee. I was a little nervous about no one being there, but they weren't even open yet! At noon people started to file in, and it was a fun and lively brunch spot. And the food, oh the food! It was fantastic. We got the burrata and napoleon to start and both were fantastic. (Note the burrata is $2 more which they don't list, but it's still worth it). My sister got an egg scramble which she loved and I had an incredible eggs "bendetto" with parma ham and delicious herbs. And, they were great with refilling mimosas, keeping them coming even after we finished eating. Seriously cannot beat this deal!

My family and extended family needed a great place to have dinner the day before many of them ran a 10-Miler and the request was for Italian. We wanted something local that could also accommodate my 10-year old. We could not have been more pleased by the menu, the service and the results! Everything was amazing! My son said his meal was an 11 out of 10 and that was calamari to start and the best Alfredo he says he’s ever had. The men loved the meatballs, my sister in law had a beautiful Caesar salad and I had lobster deviled eggs to start that were incredible. Our main entrees were even better! We finished our meal with dessert and could not have been happier. A true “mom and pop” establishment with all the charm and warmth of having dinner at a friend’s house! Can’t wat to come back!

This place is a true find, tucked into a row house that now boasts some of the most unexpectedly delicious Italian food based on old-time favorite dishes, yet updated in a way that enhances. The happy hour specials at the bar are fab and the place just has a fun vibe whether you're upstairs or down. Love it each time!

I was excited to try Dino's Grotto after hearing about their Passover menu for many years. The food was interesting and the drinks were good. They were dramatically unprepared for a dinner service (ie. being repeatedly encouraged to go to the bar instead of the dining room, asking several times for someone to take a drink order, no waiters, having to find people to take our order, lots of waiting). Staff were friendly, but it just didn't cut it.

Called them to see if they had a table for 4 and how long to be seated. They said 30-40 min, so I said “thank you” and decided that was too long. Booked on open table and wait was maybe 20 min (815pm reservation). As I was walking there, they called to say they have a table open immediately-didn’t get message as phone was silenced. Got there, and the host remembered speaking to me, and said he had a table open now. Loved it! Great service by waitstaff. An excellent evening.

Dino's Grotto maintains the high standards established at the original Dino's in Cleveland Park, with a regularly renewed menu and an eye-opening collection of unusual and fairly priced (especially mid-week) Italian wines. The goat paprikash, new for 2018, is worth the trip. One small fault during my last visit on a very busy Saturday evening, the overcooked pasta. Muttering "al dente" to our waitress, a charming native of Salerno, would probably have helped.

We, the four of us, went to Dino's Grotto for their bottomless Sunday brunch. The staff was pleasant and flexible with our reservation, some of us were running late, but they allowed us to sit and wait at our table, this was super helpful!

The Bloody Mary was to die for, it had fresh ingredients and was perfectly spicy. I had the grilled vegetable vegan dish with potatoes and the sauce was savory and mmmmm mmm good.

My friends all enjoyed their food as well.

There was a slight misunderstanding with our order, one of the dishes was wrong, but the server quickly rectified the by making us the correct order and even left us with the mistake.

Overall, nice staff, cozy atmosphere and great food, I couldn't have asked for more in a chill DC Sunday brunch.

We went to Dino's for the first time, prior to attending a concert at Howard Theater. I found it confusing to enter. The first entrance we went into was up the steps, but when we got to the door, we saw there was a table of people right there, so we figured that was wrong. Then we went to the downstairs entrance, which was just the bar. There was a staircase in the bar, and we got to the main restaurant from there. A simple sign would've been nice. The food was delicious. I ordered a seafood dish, and it was a TON of food, which is a good problem to have. Service was pretty good. I would return there, now that I know how to get in.

Very friendly service but just inadequate attention. 20 minutes for drinks to arrive. The meals were good but nothing was exceptional. We wanted desserts but after getting dessert menus it was over 15 mins for the waiter to return and we were running too late to stay.

Seriously, it's all good. Among other things, they have the best Lambrusco list in town.

The food was amazing (one of the best poached eggs in the area), and even more amazing was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and seemed happy to be there. We had a pleasant chat with the husband and wife owners, who told us how they source local produce as much as possible and proudly showed us their impressively curated hot sauce collection. I plan on coming back many times for brunch and half-price wine bottle nights!

The service was excellent overall. It was a busy night, being a Saturday during restaurant week, but there was still a rather prolonged period in the middle of the meal where no one checked if we needed our waters filled. The food was delectable and the restaurant played nice oldies. Portion sizes were filling. I would absolutely come again.

Went for Restaurant Week Winter 2018. Overall food was ok. The Duck Lasagna and Free Form Lasagna tweeted great. The octopus was rubbery, the Brie sandwich was really good and I would Seder again.
We sat in the bar downstairs and which was a great place to end up.

Dino's Grotto has a wide-ranging menu, much of which is gluten-free. We went during Restaurant Week which was a great deal, especially since you can still choose from the whole menu. The main meal was good, but the desserts are out of this world, so save some room! The restaurant is a bit on the small side, which lends it a more intimate feel and means you don't get lost in the shuffle, but keep that in mind if you are trying to bring in a large group.
