Great meal and great service! I loved the scallops!
Great salads and entrees. Nice patio with heating and good wine selection.
The oysters were good but nothing after the oysters was close to noteworthy which would be okay if the cost was not so inflated. The meal did not measure up to the price. It’s such a beautiful hotel and space that it was disappointing the food did not match the surround. I would stick with the food truck dinner outside and use the extra cash to buy an extra $20 glass of wine.
It was fantastic. Great experience for Mom and Dads first date night since the pandemic !
Our first dining out experience in a year and it was fantastic! The patio was wide open, we had two heaters, wait staff were very helpful even masked and gloved.
Dinner was delicious! We love it!
The fairmonts food truck experience is a solid date night option or even to hang with a group of friends. Live music is a bonus too! We will definitely be back.
Dessert apple crumble was like kids one and food was not that good at all for the price . Menu was limited. Wine menu says per glass price is for the bottle.
The people who work here are unbelievably sweet. I felt well cared for and the food was super yummy. It was an extremely pleasant place to sit by myself and just enjoy my food and my cocktail. Going again tonight!
Friendly and courteous staff. We were placed in a cabana due to the rain and it was cozy and intimate. The food was exquisite and the chef was accommodating to our requests. My wife wanted scallops in her Caccio a Pepe and the chef obliged. We’re looking forward to regular dining there once the restrictions are lifted. We’ll be back.
The staff was so kind and seated us right away even though I got the reservation time wrong. We were treated with respect, the staff was very knowledgeable about the food, and although it was outdoors due to covid restrictions, there were plenty of heat lamps and the tables were spaced nicely. The food was of course phenomenal!
We're locals and we really like the menu they are serving right now for outdoor dining. We definitely be back again.
Wonderful. Fabulous food and amazing setting and great service
Doing a great job with outdoor dining during COVID from a safety angle, but...service was horrible. Not just a one-timer; had breakfast next morning and food was great but service was still horrible. Wait for everything. Thirty minutes to get appetizers. Another 30 for entree. Had to get up to grab someone to ask for water multiple times. Rather than wait, I would get in your car and drive to another restaurant.
First time coming to Sonoma and staying at the Fairmont, and was a great experience! Great property, just 2.3 miles from downtown Sonoma, you can walk, run, or drive. I love their private dinners in the Cabana's overlooking the pool. With all of the fire pits and tree lighting, it created a perfect sanctuary.
The property offers a lot of social distance places to relax. It was not too crowded, it was just right.
Dinner special, Rack of Lamb over grilled Brussel sprouts with a yogurt-base sauce and mashed potatoes for two was delicious! We found it to be too much food, and we enjoyed the leftovers. We will definitely come back!
We celebrated a birthday dinner . The food had wonderful was terrific . Very pleasant outside setting with nice patio heaters . The dinner was served quickly.
Food was ok, no “wow”factor to brag about, service was ok as well, i expected more because it’s fairmont but the service was comparable to a regular mom and pops restaurant. I amthinking maybe because of covid but the next day, my husband and i went to have dinner at another hotel restaurant and the service as well as the food was exquisite and exceptional even in covid times, i dont mind paying more if the service reflects it.
Very good food and excellent service!
We all enjoyed our dishes and waitress. I had the scallop dish. Incredible. Will go back again.
Not sure if the level of service or the quality of the food was due to COVID, but still even at a resort there should be a base line level of luxury even in these times.
Loved our food, Brussel sprouts were delicious, filet melted in your mouth and the scallops were huge, and perfectly cooked. Our server Michaela was wonderful also. We love being within walking distance!
Even though we were outside, we were warm and comfortable. It was a tiny bit dark but that didn’t hinder the dinner. We had a great tome.
Fantastic food in a beautiful hotel
Expectations were not met with this Michelin rated restaurant. Nothing terrible. Nothing exceptional.
Food was a bit salty especially the stuffed lobster and fries. Also, the service was a bit chaotic. Also, food quality vs price could have been better for such a high end restaurant.
Overall good, but not great experience. Being a Fairmont restaurant, and given the price point, service was surprisingly shabby. It just never seemed coordinated. A team was clearly assigned to our table, but they did not seem to have any coordinated effort. For example, they only refilled water glasses as we were leaving, made little effort to pick-up/keep the table neat, and very surprised when they brought out the duck (for two) to show us before taking it back to the kitchen to carve. The person held it about a foot from our table where we really could not see it, and said "I am suppose to show this to you before taking it back to the kitchen".
Food was top notch, well prepared. No better than other places in the area, but as good as anyplace else.
Ambiance is very casual, as was the dress code. I suspect they have intentionally gone casual to appeal to the typical wine country visitor, but it was surprisingly casual for a Fairmont property. This is fine, just know it will not be a high-end experience.
For our first visit to Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa and SANTE restaurant we chose a meal off the Valentines “special” menu.
We were not disappointed at all and loved every course.
Our only negative feedback is that the portions are LARGE and we simply could eat it all, but they offered to make a takeaway box for our picnic lunch the next day.
Food was excellent.
Everything was great except the dress code.
It was Valentine’s Day and we had people wearing t shirts and jeans next to us.
Pretty weak in my opinion!!!
great menu and wine list. Service should be better....its a Fairmont
Excellent, friendly and attentive service, a vast wine selection and high quality by the glass wine offerings.
Lamb for two was plentiful and delicious!
Delicious Lemon Pancakes. Service was attentive and personable, knowledgeable and friendly.
My favorite breakfast in Sonoma!
We stayed at the SMI and ate brunch the next morning. Everyone was friendly, the service was excellent, the selection was interesting and delicious!! Dinner, next trip!
We enjoyed our experience at Sante. We were there on a Sunday evening in late January, so it was very quiet. We had top notch service including the hotel food services manager checking in with us about our meal. The food was exquisite. We shared the roasted lamb. It was tender and flavorful.
Overall great, but my choice of a side dish (squash) may be the reason why I'm not giving it all five stars across the board. I had just enjoyed the most delicious squash side at Charter Oak in Napa Valley and this did not even come close. There was also nothing extraordinary about the potatoes that came with the main dish - I need more flavor. Wine, though: excellent! I will be giving dinner here another try, no doubt.
Sante offered a varied but tasteful menu, and the best part was their Sunday Supper. Keep that up and I'll be back for sure! The lamb shoulder was delicious as was the sunchoke soup. Wine prices were a bit high compared to similar caliber restaurants. Ambiance was ok, though sitting next to a window I was hoping there might be a lit courtyard, pool, firepit etc to look out on to make up for the draft coming in through the cracks. Our waiter was very informative, though gave the impression of being rushed.
It was my birthday. European foodies in town for the occasion. I was embarrassed. This is NOT a Michelin starred restaurant and it’s ridiculously over priced. For example, châteaubriant isn’t encrusted with whole black pepper corns. It just isn’t, anywhere. Google it. The cut was superb, but overwhelmed by WHOLE black pepper corns. Another example, Apple pie is not made in house and was not fresh. The crust was a joke, literally we belly laughed. Visualize baked apple sauce surrounded my cardboard. These people know food and don’t mind paying for it. I was genuinely embarrassed. If you go, eat at 38. The Wagu burger was superb with a glass of Hamel Ranch cab.
Staff was so personal and friendly. I was there for mother daughter dinner and they made the night more fun and enjoyable. A delicious experience.
We have gone to Santé for more than 10 years for special occasions. We were extremely disappointed for the first time. Menu has changed and food was mediocre. Our waiter was not attentive.
The Sunday supper for 2 was a great deal and the branzino was delicious. I would order again.
Sante, once spectacular, has become a good restaurant with excellent side dishes.
Pros: Brussel Sprouts with black garlic and mushrooms l! The mashed potatoes were classic and delicious: simply presented with inventive flavors and flair. The dismantling of the banana split, presented in display fashion on the plate, was gorgeous and had a childlike whimsy that delighted my hubby. Brian, the dining room manager, is caring and attentive.
Cons: clumsy and late delivery of drinks and food even when restaurant is nearly empty; also servers seem overly chummy and casual like a local diner.
Still, I’d recommend it while staying at Sonoma Mission Inn, because it’s festive and still thrills in small doses.
