Great food and great service
The service is great. The French fries with the seasoning and the meaty crabs are the reason I keep going back.
This restaurant is apparently a Philadelphia institution being in business for allegedly 40+ years? I have no idea how they have lasted that long. The ambiance is non-existent. It was almost completely empty when we arrived (at peak dinner hours). The food was absolutely terrible. The wait staff nonexistent when you needed something. For the price they charge, a better meal could be had for substantially less at Red Lobster, Bonefish or other chain seafood restaurants. The bill was approximately $180 for 5 people, and that was with one kid returning his appetizer and only eating $7 soup!! The rating scale of 1-5 was not low enough.
If you like crabs this is the place to eat. Nothing fancy, down and dirty. Dig in, crack your own and enjoy. DiNardo’s never disappoints. We love coming here for crabs, been eating here for 30 years.
Food was below average especially for such an iconic place. Staff was super friendly especially “blue” one of the waiters. He deserves a serious raise. I would go back to give the food a second chance just because of him. I will say the Crab soup was excellent and the fried calamari was good. My fish entree was a little limp and too much butter grilled shrimp were very over cooked. Love the old school ambiance.
The food was good, the prices are ridiculous $11/$12 per crab, means I Wont be returning. You can get better ambiance and a higher quality of food elsewhere for those type of prices. Dinardos has lost touch with what made it great, great food and reasonable prices are no longer their forte.
This restaurant was over by far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The service was slow and couldn’t remember drink orders. The food was small portions for a “family style size”. Fed closer to one person. Example the stuffed mushrooms came out as 4 tiny mushroom maybe the size of a quarter. The crabs legs were priced at $60 a lb for that price I was appalled. Even so I would expect at that price they would be delicious but they were dry and bland. The beer was flat when it finally came out after our meals. Overall this was the worst dinning experience I ever had. I would recommend Red Lobster over dinning here. Terrible. For 5 people the bill was well over $300 for a normal meal. A few appetizers and an entree each. Not a $30 under entree place.
Food was very good. We had the Crab Balls appetizer, sautéed Crab dinner and Broiled Shrimp Stuffed with Crab. However, they don’t offer you bread with the meal.
Go cats. I love jay Wright
Without a doubt DiNardos is one the best for seafood in Center City.
The server barely checked on us. Within an hour and half of being here we saw our server, 4 times and that was all prior to getting food
The overall service was great. Very friendly and customer service devoted staff. I ordered the clam, clams, shrimp and scallops over linguine, ever thing taste good, only thing was some of the she'll mussels were not hot, but appeared fresh. Appetizers were abit pricey given the serving size portions. Given the location i dressed accordingly, but when i got there I felt over dressed giving the atmosphere, but yet comfortable. I would certainly visit again in the near future.
Me and my use to go to Dinardo’s Long time ago, and it was a nice dining place, but on this past Saturday it was not a good experience , will not be going back
The food was ok. I was not impressed. I have been to other seafood establishments and I can honestly say this place was nothing to write home about! I advised my server that I had anything allergy and I asked her to make sure plz nothing was prepared with nuts. The cheesecake came & I asked her is this nut crust & she didn't know! I asked for the manager & the manager didn't know the cheesecake was not prepared in-house so needless to say... I will NOT be visiting DiNardo's again!
Linda made out experience awesome! She is the best.
The service was very slow. It took well over 20 mins for my party to be recognized after being seated. My entree was horrible. The baked potato was hard as if it was over cooked in the microwave and the salmon was very dry looking. I attempted to eat some of the potato but I did not touch the salmon at all. My date said it was dry. Furthermore, the desert was didn’t taste fresh. The only thing that I enjoyed was my cocktails from the bar. My experience was horrible and I would never choose DiNardos again. The server didn’t try to accommodate me at all when I complained about my food. She said “take it home to your dog” as if it was dog food.
Wanted to try a different place for Restayrant week and was disappointed the Mussels were empty shells the entree was small In size (kids meals are bigger elsewhere)and not attractive and not appetizing. I should have went to Chima’s. The bartender though was very pleasant.
The food was good, the service wasn’t so good. It seemed like the kitchen couldn’t keep up with the orders coming in so it was a bit of a wait and it seemed like there was only 1 server and a bartender filling in as a server on a Friday night. It was restaurant week so I expected it to be a little busy but it seemed like they just weren’t prepared for it.
It took a hour for my food to come out. My chicken was over cooked, I sent it back and they returned the same piece of chicken to me. The pasta was very nasty also.
I thought that the food would take a dip in quality because of Restaurant Week. I was wrong in my thought. The food wasn't rushed and was as delicious as expected. The service and environment we're top notch. Well done.
I ordered the stuffed flonder it was good but the Fry's were sooooo salty other than that I will be returning. I have to tell them no salt please.
Ed everything was good, my crab filled salmon was delicious. The only issue I had was I ordered large garlic grabs and they sent me out the smallest crabs I ever seen. The owner saw them and said they were way too small and took then back and off my check.
Food was horrible! I would not go back again unless it is the Summer time when crabs are in season.
The environment was not what you'd expect from a CC Restaurant Week location -- it reminded me of your great aunt's shore house.. not in a good way. Our server was fine aside from the fact that he didn't acknowledge me waiting for my other party. I didn't even receive water or a greeting until my partner arrived.
I understand that many restaurants do not allow modifications to menu items/entrees during restaurant week but my server was apprehensive to even allow me to add on a side of veggies in place of the default baked potato. After he allowed me to and we received our food, I wasn't given the potato which was meant to be included in the meal.
Dessert was very good though. We shared cheesecake and pineapple pie. Defitnely weren't homemade but we didn't care. Still very good.
Was disappointed I haven't been there in years. I went for restaurant week. I ordered the shrimp scampi and my noodles were overcooked. I didn't return it.. But I will not go again.the place needs a fresh look. Its 2018.
It was my husband and my 32 wedding anniversary❕
The staff is great but the food needs a lot of work. It seems like they only use butter as their seasoning.
Had to wait for an hour to be seated, even though we had a reservation. No place to sit while waiting, so we stood for an hour. Waitress checked in with us quite rarely, had to ask for water to be refilled and took a long time for the check to come.
Food was okay, scallops were fresh and the crab cakes were very good. Good value for money if you order the big seafood platter.
We had reservations and were sat 30 minutes late. There were 3 in our party and we were there for 3 hours and didn’t even have dessert. I was very disappointed in the service. The food was ok. Based on this experience, I would not recommend.
value was poor very noisy and group near us was using vulgar language that management should have addressed. parts of meal were good rest just okay.
The decor is so outdated, looks like you’re walking into a diner from 40 years ago. The food was ok but definitely not worth the price. My pasta was undercooked the first time so i sent it back. I shouldve just got something else because it came back so bland, worst than the first time - not sure if they know what seasoning is.
The restaurant was completely unprepared for restaurant week. The portions were too small and the wait for each course took approximately 30 mins each. The noise level there was pretty loud and from what I could hear it did not seem like the other customers were pleased with this location either.
My experience was unpleasant, we came 10 minutes before our 9:00 reservation and did not get seated until 9:20. Our waiter was literally all over the place and was not personable at all. I was told very nonchalantly that there weren't any more baked potatoes and we had to get french fries instead. However, we overheard him tell the next table that he found baked potatoes "just for them" and we say other waiters/waitresses with baked potatoes as well.
We got there at 8pm and didn’t receive our meal until 10. It was restaurant week however they didn’t seem to prepared. When our main course came out it was suppose to be with a baked potato instead we had French fries on our plate. When asked why they stated we ran out of potatoes. The server didn’t let us know before hand and ask what we would like instead so we spoke to the manager who was more than happy to accommodate us.
Service was terrible. Things took waaaayyy to long. Staff is very rude. Although we went during CCDRW, this is not excusable and it was not that busy once we checked in our reservation.
Need new waiters and they over charged my girlfriend bank card worth $100 plus our meal. She ask for a ginger ale and they brought her a beer. Food took a hour to come out
It could be that I had higher expectations based on other food establishments in the city that I had dined at. This was an OK restaurant but fell short on my expectations. We were there during restaurant week and I ordered the crab cake and steak for my main, with the coconut shrimp appetizer and some cake that had pineapple on it as my dessert. I did look at the regular menu and the prices seemed a little pricey for me but I was going to make a call about returning here after seeing what the Restaurant Week food was like. Having now dined there, I feel the regular menu is a bit over priced given my opinion of the taste and quality of the food I had. The coconut shrimp was ok, and I had definitely had better crab cakes. The staff however is very friendly and courteous.
The service was quick & fast, my waitress was excellent she made me this delicious cocktail which was perfect, I had the stuff flounder with crabmeat very good.
