DiNardo's Famous Seafood Ratings and Reviews
It could be that I had higher expectations based on other food establishments in the city that I had dined at. This was an OK restaurant but fell short on my expectations. We were there during restaurant week and I ordered the crab cake and steak for my main, with the coconut shrimp appetizer and some cake that had pineapple on it as my dessert. I did look at the regular menu and the prices seemed a little pricey for me but I was going to make a call about returning here after seeing what the Restaurant Week food was like. Having now dined there, I feel the regular menu is a bit over priced given my opinion of the taste and quality of the food I had. The coconut shrimp was ok, and I had definitely had better crab cakes. The staff however is very friendly and courteous.
The food was average . We went for restaurant week so the menu was limited . The linguine was ok, i overall Expected more. Drink list could have been better, and their prices for crab are expensive . But the customer service was awesome. I would Go again and try something else on the menu
Atmosphere was a bit dated. Food was good, but on the bland side. Disappointed with the portion size of the stuffed mushroom appetizer...three small mushrooms... Our waitress was very friendly and quick to fulfill our requests. Was looking for something different for dinner for new year's eve with the family...not quite what I expected.
We ordered the largest crabs, $14 each!!! What we got was out of 6 crabs we got only 2 good ones. The others were "slimy" our assumption was that on Thursdays DiNardos gets their crabs. They cook them all for the weekend. They them refrigerate them and flash steam them as ordered. They just don't last 5 days that way. The seasoning was mediocre. Clams and oysters nicely opened, very tasty. Fried oysters...not so good. All and all, for $110, won't visit again.
Hadn't been to DiNardo's for a number of years. However eight of us needed a mid-level priced seafood restaurant Saturday night and we certainly found it. Excellent salmon and crab and crab soup and fries. Perfect seating for a large group. And the experienced waitress was outstanding and the food was served quickly and well-prepared. Really a comfortable place and reasonably priced restaurant for dinner.
Was looking forward to fresh seafood but that was not the case. The seafood pasta was mediocre and oysters in it uneatable. The crispy crab cake was billed as a specialty, delicious and full of crab. It was awful - soggy, a lot of filler, mushy and cold. We were with friends so couldn't send it back.
When the server was asked for a wine list she stated that they had all kinds and suggested I just pick one. She didn't understand the concept of someone who understands wine wanting to make an informed choice.
Really disappointed in this place.
We chose DiNardo's because it was on the subscriber list of discounted restaurants for the Walnut Street Theater. It was about a 20 minute walk, but well worth the trip. We had plenty of room for our group of 7. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Knowing that we were on our way to the theater, she kept things moving for us. The food was delicious! Our group's choices ranged from the special of the day (salmon with crab meat), to shrimp of various varieties (the blackened was the best), to a salad with so much chicken, it couldn't be fully consumed in one sitting. We look forward to visiting this establishment again in the future.
Fairly regular customers, however service was less than normal. Our waiter was overly attentive to other patrons, food and checkout took longer than normal to receive. We had to ask another waiter to inquire of our waiters' whereabouts. The highlight of the evening was the impromptu anniversary serenade by one of the assistant waiters.
The crab legs I got were overcooked, which isn't great for a place that specializes in seafood...specifically crab. They did remake it, but I had to hunt down our waitress who we could never seem to find. If the prices were lower, I'd say "ok, you get what you pay for"...but the prices are not low. And, the place is in desperate need of an upgrade - booths are all ripped, the plates are all scratched and the overall ambiance is nonexistant.
Wonderful fresh seafood. The restaurant is friendly and pleasant. My husband had pasta with seafood which was fantastic. I had a seafood salad that had great seafood, but the lettuce was unispired, and the salad was drowned in dressing. This is a nice restaurant. I would probably not order the salad again -- but if I did, I would definitely get the dressing on the side. The booths could use a renovation of the springs as they are not the most comfortable. This is a great location for fresh seafood, but the salad was retro. This dish would be great if more care were exercised with the lettuce and greens -- and there should be choice and warning about the dressing which overwhelmed my dinner.
My wife and I were out celebrating our anniversary. Our dinners were very good, my wife had the broiled seafood platter and I had the stuffed shrimp with crab. At time we felt like we were being rushed to order, did mention a couple of time we wanted to take our time, but for the most part our server was good and very attentive. I would definitely recommend this place for good seafood. Casual place so if you're looking for ambiance this might not make the cut. I know we enjoyed ourselves and will be going back again.
MY BFF AND I WANTED TO TRY RESTAURANT WEEK FOR THE FIRST TIME, DINARDO'S HAD ONE OF THE BEST SELECTIONS FOR THERE MENU FOR $35. WE ENDED UP SPENDING $200 TRYING ITEMS OFF THE REGULAR MENU. I MUST SAY THAT THE DRINKS COULD HAVE BEEN A HAPPY HOUR PRICE, NOT $12 A DRINK. OTHER THAN THAT THE FOOD AND CRABS WERE DELICIOUS.
This has been one of the best food restaurants I've been to. The Customer experience was amazing. Every "single"staff member was friendly, catering and simply amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone without a second thought. In fact, I already told my friends about it. I enjoyed my exceptional customer service and plan on visiting again!
The food was good not great. The service was very slow and our waitress lacked good hygiene habits. When we entered the restaurant she was blowing her nose publicly. I did not realize at the time she would be my server. It made it very uncomfortable for me to enjoy my food. I took a take out and she proceeded to put my items in my container using her hand. When she observed me watching her she used the small container that my coleslaw had been in to dump my food in the container. And even though we gave her a good tip and also mentioned that it was my birthday she did not do anything special for me. We probably won't be returning.
