Dinah’s is a special place. Hasn’t changed much, fortunately, over the years and is a great outdoor dining location.

Surprisingly good restaurant in a cute motel overlooking the pool. $45 3-course dinner menu is a bargain. Not fancy, but good food and well worth it. I haven’t been yet, but I hear the brunch and happy hour are also fine.

I had the Salmon special which was excellent. Salmon was moist and perfectly cooked. It came with a variety of vegetables chopped small which was the right accompaniment. My husband had the steak frites. which he ordered medium rare and it was cooked just right for him. The salad that comes with the steak had very fresh greens and a good dressing. Actually, steak frites is one of the best dishes at Dinah's if you are in the mood for red meat.

Probably the last of the hidden gems left around. Attentive and consistent servers and chef's, combined with a relaxing setting; Dinah's is a much needed respite from the overcrowded sea of mediocre lunch choices in the area.

Dinah’s is a hidden gem. Weren’t I traveled I avoided eating lunch or dinner in the hotel because they were usually not great. Dinah’s is an exception. I had a cup of a delicious canalleni escarole soup and an outstanding fish and chips served with great shoestring fries (much better than the traditional steak fries). Even the tarter sauce was house made. My wife had their Reuben that was better than Dittmers, which was previously the gold standard. The staff couldn’t have been nicer, bringing a refill on my wife’s lemonade without us asking. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so we will be back often. I highly recommend you try Dinah’s.

Lovely day for dining by the pool. The food was as good as we’ve always come to expect and Alexandra’s service was warmly friendly and efficient. It was my first time to try the breakfast burrito and I enjoyed it. My companions both had omlettes and enjoyed them as well. We’ll definitely be back; we’re regulars.

Always enjoy coming to Dinah’s Poolside for breakfast or lunch and I now know that they are open again for dinner!! The service is great and the small room with the fireplace is very welcoming (although I really love lunch by the pool when it’s warm. I’ve been coming here for over 30 years and have hosted private parties here and I always feel like I’m visiting friends when I arrange to eat here!

Eating poolside at Dinah's is how the world thinks of California, glamorous, easy, chic, warm, sunny and friendly. I feel like I'm in a movie every time I'm there.

Even though there were hardly any people at the restaurant, the service was pretty slow and even slower when we waited for our desserts. Also, I did not like the chocolate mousse...some chocolate that they used wasn't very good.

It was our first time to Dinah's Poolside Restaurant. On arrival the greeter was very cordial and receptive. She located our reservation and got us seated quickly while accommodated our request for a child seat without delay. The server was quick to greet us initially but failed to return to take our order for at least 15 additional minutes. We finally ordered and the food came rather slowly in my opinion, arriving to our table in about 20 minutes. Our server failed to return again to inquire if the food was to our liking and failed to even fill our water glasses or clear plates while we ate. At no time did management approach us to ask if the food was to our liking or if they could get us anything else. Again, not a busy restaurant atmosphere for a Saturday morning and definitely not too busy in my opinion to make the customary rounds to check quality of service. Price with tip (even for bad service) for 3 full breakfasts and 1 Ghirardelli chocolate milk was about $55. Our food was tasty, not great, but a good value for the price in this area though honestly we likely would have had better service at Denny's or iHop. We may return for a second chance at service because the food was good and the pool view was nice. Here's hoping for a better tomorrow.

I was looking forward to this dining experience; however, I was extremely disappointed. It started at the hostess stand where the hostess was not attentive or friendly. The server was also not attentive and after our food was set, we never saw him again. No refills on a our iced tea, or any type of follow up. We had to ask for the check as did other patrons who also expressed disappointment in the service. When the server finally came to the table we asked to see a dessert menu, which took the server at least 10 minutes to return with the dessert menu. When we were ready, we had to waive the server for his attention. I had a question about the dessert and he could not answer my question, nor did he have any interest in finding out; therefore we declined. In regards to the food, I was looking forward to the grilled avocado, which was two thin slices put on a plate. Not half or a whole avocado, but a quarter of an avocado. Very disappointed. Will not be back.

The environment and ambiance of this restaurant is spot on in terms of outdoor dining. My friend and I ordered fish dishes...the cod and salmon. The cod was not prepared as requested and drenched in soy sauce. Couldn't finish it. My friend's side vegetables were not great and included a sauce she was allergic to - after describing to the waiter what her restrictions were. Wouldn't recommend dining here but seemed like a good place for happy hour.

I was meeting an old friend that I hadn't seen in several months, and it was so nice to be able to linger over conversation and not be rushed to leave. The food and coffee were excellent and a great value. The only challenge was moving around under the umbrella to avoid sitting in the sun, but being outside was beautiful. I love the trees and flowers at Dinah's - it felt like we were in Tahiti rather than in the middle of Palo Alto!
