They were closed when we got there even though they accepted our reservation
Food was excellent as always but service was disappointing. We were 2 of only 4 people at the bar and no tables were occupied in restaurant. Had to ask bartender for menus, had to ask to order an appetizer, had to ask to order soup and had to ask to order entrees. Seemed as if an off duty co worker was one of the 2 other people at the bar. Lot of interaction between him and the bartender. I was disappointed with service.
Food was very good, service was not. They did try to make up for it by buying a drink. Something was off that night. Heard alot of breaking dishes in the kitchen. They weren't many people in the place.
This is such a nice, local place. The staff is very friendly and the food is always great.
Good restaurant for the entire family. Good food and great wine list. Open late which is a plus for late night eaters.
Sandra is an exceptional server and should receive an increase in her compensation. Very pleasant!
Beautiful little place to have a nice quiet dinner .
Good eats pleasant atmosphere just as good as first time we were there.
Will tell or friends about it.
Meal was excellent. Service was excellent. My first time at this restaurant. I will return
Wonderful food in a very comfortable atmosphere. Wait staff was very helpful and attentive. Menu offers many great options.
First time visit - food and service were great. Will definitely visit again!
Seems they have had a mgmnt shift in the kitchen of late, so things were a bit different.
Awesome as always The whole family totallyrics enjoys this restaurant
Second time having dinner there. First time was good. This time was a disaster, although the food was good. Waitress was clearly new so I will cut her a break but there seemed to be no sense to what was going on. There were six of us. The restaurant was not even half full. Our waitress kept bringing our drinks one at a time, with minutes between deliveries. It was awkward with some people having drinks and others waiting for as long as 10 minutes. She would come with three drinks, one for three different tables!
Worst part though was when I had to ask for steak knives from the busboy and he literally dropped them (2) onto my plate of food and just walked away. No malice was intended I don't think. Just clueless.
Fortunately we had been to DiMicco's a couple of times before this visit or we would NEVER have returned. The first time we went, the food and service was wonderful. The only downfall was where we were seated in the bar area. It was so loud we couldn't hear each other. The second time, the food was not as good even though we ordered the same meals. This last visit was a nightmare! We waited 2 1/2 hours for our food!! We were told that they lost our slip and when the GM spoke with the kitchen and printed out a new slip, THEY LOST IT AGAIN!!. We were visited by the GM who apologized and comp'd our whole meal. When the food came out, it was awful. Unless they change their kitchen, it will continue to go downhill.
Delicious... as always!
Great online reservation system, delicious food, good service, food made to order so it takes awhile but worth the wait. Owner onsite and friendly.
This restaurant needs to identify itself as a neighborhood bar and restaurant, not as an "Authentic Italian Eatery", since that implies a very different ambiance than the one we encountered. We were seated in the bar section, and the noise level was deafening. Which is a real shame, since the food was outstanding. The cozze gorgonzola was amazing, and the tagliatelle bolongese was to die for. The service was earnest, but not very polished. This is a work in progress, and one hopes that the operational issues get worked out, since the food is so good.
Not very good. Food took over an hour. When it finally arrived, it looked liked scraps thrown on an oversized plate. Waitress seemed to be distracted. Big disappointment.
We had made reservations for 9 celebrating college graduates in our family. We ordered family style and had so much food. Everything was delicious. The server was friendly and organized. We will definitely return on our next trip to Rhode Island.
Service was very good and the restaurant was very accommodating to adjusting our reservation when our event went over schedule and we added guest at the last minute.
Nice choices in salads. Salads were very fresh.
Dinner choices are varied and creative takes on standard combinations. Food was served quickly and hot.
A good choice for any casual get together.
We went on a Saturday evening - there was a large group of us (nine), so we made a reservation and were seated promptly. They sat us in the back room/bar area, which was very very noisy. Could not even have a conversation with the person across the table from me. We asked if it was possible to move, and they accommodated our request. After a bit of a rocky start to the evening we had a wonderful dinner. Portions were good, food was excellent.
Food was great, prepared fresh and so took some time coming out. There is no sound attenuation, so the nearby table overwhelmed us with their chatter and laughter. Wine selection was good. If they were more accessible from the East Bay we would probably go there on occasion.
We have been several times and the food is always delicious and creative, very authentic Italian cuisine. Service is generally fair to good, but it is a fairly new place and I believe it improves upon each visit. Would recommend it with that caveat.
Excellent all around!
This is my 2nd time going to DiMicco's. I will say that they are very nice people and their food is good. However, they need to work on service and timing. We ordered soda's, water and 2 alcoholic drinks and appetizers at the same time. The appetizers were delivered before the drinks. Excellent response from kitchen, but waitress was very slow. Not a big issue but something that needs to be worked on. Food was goody but doesn't compare with the Hill.
Great place. Outstanding service-very attentive. Food is excellent-many choices. Large section of appetizers. Moderately priced.
So many dishes to choose from! And one of the best fillet mignons I've ever had! So tender! Very good pizza also! Bartenders Donna and Kelly were great!
DiMicco's is beautiful inside and very comfortable. The menu has many choices and the are happy to make your dish any way You like. They have a great selection of Wine,Beer and Mixed Drinks and the prices are reasonable. Our server knew the menu and made suggestion when asked.I will go again and have recommended it to friends.
Food was outstanding although it did take quite a while to come out but worth the wait. Unfortunately, we had asked for a booth or a table off to the side as it was for an Anniversary dinner, the young man that seated us brought us to a center table and when we mentioned that we had a request he said that he didn't bother to read that. He did accommodate us with a side table near the bar and it was very loud.
Arrived to dine with friends and was looking forward to enjoy a great evening of food and conversation, unfortunately neither would be fantastic. The menu is full of choices and most of the dishes are reasonably priced, that's about where the positive ends. we were a table of six and seated in the back room, the ambiance could be better if there were not a large bar in the room, making it more of a pub feel than an Italian restaurant.
Our waiter was Russell, who should be retrained in table service. While he was polite his skills were just not there. From the start he was trying to rush the service being a little impatient with the drink order. Not everyone knew what they wanted and instead of coming back he tried to rush everyone into ordering. Russell never suggested appetizers and when asked what the "house" was best known for his answer was "I don't know".
food arrived piping hot and had a great visual appeal, All the dishes with the exception of the ahi ahi tuna were extremely over salted. My order of bolognese was so salty I could not get past the second bite. Russell arrived about 15 minutes later, never noticing I wasn't touching my dish and when asked how things were I informed him of my dish being to salty. The response from the waiter was "I didn't cook it." not once did he offer me to order another meal or credit the dish. I really didn't want the dish credited however I would have like to try something else, instead he took my full dish away and left me at the table with nothing in front of me. Russell, was coming by as people finished and clearing plates as others were still eating, not good especially since he was reaching over the people that were still eating.
A gentleman who identified himself as the owner asked how things were and I explained to him how my meal was and what had happen. The owner was very apologetic and wanted me to leave my information so he could call me the next day, however it was way past that point.
The service was great, friendly staff, great food, drink and dessert. I will refer friends for sure!
Delicious, best food I have had in a while at a restaurant!!! Very very good!! Go and enjoy!!
Great food, good service, good prices. Lots of families there, but not lots of noice. Chicken parm was very good, and my husband had the seafood mediterranean dish that was chuck full of lobster, clams, muscles, calamari.....excellent dish
First time there and it was excellent.
Will definitely return
