Quick service! The food was delicious and there are tons of options for everyone’s taste. Great portion size at a reasonable price!
The food is amazing. Keeps me coming back for more.
Super easy ordering with disposable menus and AMAZING food wow; we got pork buns, extra spicy soup dumps and dan dan noodles to share, my partner also got the pork belly in brown sauce. Dan dan here is great cause it’s spicy but not burn your mouth spicy so you can enjoy. The peanut taste in it is VERY fresh and enjoyable as opposed to some other peanut sauces we’ve tried. Asked for tea to be served at the beginning as an anniversary perk for my partner (told them to pick what tea was beat) and they put out a lovely dragon tea that was very naturally sweet and romantic. Overall this place was a delight and they were also super nice to us when we were last to leave (9:30 reservation lol) didn’t feel any of that kind of “please leave” kind of vibe sometimes you get close to closing. Def a must-go place to stop by on your Philly trek looking for DimSum
all servers wore both mask and face shields everything was super clean
This was our first indoor dining experience since the start of the pandemic, and it was great. Highly recommend ordering a variety of dumplings (especially the crab and pork soup dumplings!) and small plates to share. We will definitely be back. Thanks for keeping our experience safe, socially distanced and enjoyable!
I've been here many times and think they do very well on the food. The dry pot with cumin chicken is amazing. They do great dim sum too, of course. The service is hit and miss though, usually a miss, depending on who you get and how busy it is. Maybe avoid getting the pan fried soup dumplings, took 35 minutes for mine to come out, which by that time I was done eating, so I took them to-go.
Dim Sum House is by far the best dim sum restaurant in Philadelphia. It is not in Chinatown but still the best. Not just dim sum dishes but they serve very good regular dishes as well. The food is authentic. I've been eating here for the past two years and it never disappoints!
Wait staff was very friendly and helpful but hostess who seated us quite brusque.
Dim Sum House offers lots of choices. Everything is good. The prices are reasonable.
Horrible service— restaurant was empty and waiter was nowhere to be found. Hair in the food, no apology given. Dumplings still very good but overall experience was not good. I will not return.
Amazing!! I would recommend this to everyone!!! !
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect.
My husband and I drove here for Valentines Day looking forward to trying Dim Sum for the first time. We were seated way in the corner right next to the kitchen and told "these are the only seats a available". Meanwhile we walked through a pretty, light and airy dining room with tables empty. It took forever to get our drinks and the food was brought out first. We had to ask for silverware, napkins and water. The service was slow and entree greasy with bones throughout meat. The Dim Sum portion of meal was chewy and hard to eat. The meal itself over priced. Won't be coming back here again.
Great spot for girls gathering. Happy hour was great.
Excellent food, lots of selections and great service. Looking forward to their upcoming opening in Center City!
The food was good. I'd still go to Chinatown for a more authentic dim sum experience. The service was borderline horrible at this late hour (9:30 pm) reservation. It looked like the bartender was also the one waiting on tables. The food did come out quickly in comparison which was the service ratings saving grace.
Ordered scallion pancakes, crystal shrimp dumplings, pork soup dumplings, pork and shrimp siomai, and beef ho fun.
Scallion pancakes were light, crispy, and not too oily. The crystal dumplings and siomai were double the size you'd find in Chinatown and had good flavor. Beef ho fun was nicely made. The soup dumplings were a little disappointing. It seemed that the broth had a lot of fat in it.
Probably wouldn't go to this place for dim sum again, but had an alright experience.
Restaurant does not know how to Apply open table dining rewards. No server had a clue on how to apply the rewards. Then they went to the Manager who also had no clue on how to apply the rewards. They tried to charge the full amount of the bill to the rewards card and the charge was denied (of course). I did not insist but this definitely was a bad experience.
Plus my server did not have good english and could not understand well.
Really great!!!
We tried this location for lunch Dim Sum. The service was great, but the food was average. We will go back to their Chinatown location. We requested a booth via our reservation. The lady at the front desk did not even try to provide a booth when we reminded her. The waitress was very professional and efficient.
We were sat within minutes and our dim sum goodies came out immediately after we ordered. Everything was so tasty, exactly what we were craving. We got several varieties of dumplings, scallion pancakes, and dan dan noodles. We like spicy stuff so I was in heaven with the dan dan, chile oil wontons and extra spicy pork soup dumplings, although to many sensitive pallets it could've been a little too spicy. Loved it!
Food was outstanding
This is one of my favorite places to go for dinner in the city! Its amazing for big groups of friends and dates. Love it here!
Great, fun restaurant with awesome food! We enjoyed sampling lots of dishes!
Dim sum to the next level! Entrees on point as well. Made to order deliciousness, great vibes. Beautiful bar in the main dining, pool table to enjoy while you wait for your food or just to chill with friends. We travel from NJ just to eat here.
We came here with a group of 8 friends and had a great time. The food is delicious, especially the dim sum. The atmosphere for a group of this size is fantastic since they have large round tables with a big lazy susan in the middle for easy sharing. I will definitely come back and bring friends.
Went here for Christmas dinner by myself. Was relatively busy. Good food. Good service. The location is perfect, and so is the ambiance. Will definitely return!
Very tasty and great service!
After being in the restaurant business on and off for 25 years, my girls and I try to go out on holidays whenever we can. We had never had Dim Sum before, so we decided to do it on Christmas this year! We had such an amazing time! Our server was great in explaining to us what the dishes were and making suggestions on what to order. There were five of us and we did multiple rounds of Dim Sum, and two entrées that we shared, and it was perfect!
Can’t wait to come back !!!
Our dim sum selections were good but our entrees missed the mark. The sizzling beef ribs were tough and fatty. The chicken and broccoli just average. Previous meal was perfection. So very disappointed.
My parents and I love dining at Dim Sum House. The restaurant is clean and spacious. Everything we order is always so delicious, and the service is great!
YUM. I used to go to Jane G's on Chestnut in CC and was upset when it closed. It is great to find this new one, and one devoted to different kinds of Dim Sum.
Dim Sum House by Jane G’s is probably my favorite place to go in the city for dinner. The service can be slow at times, but the food outshines any inconvenience by the wait. The soup dumplings are AMAZING and so are the dan dan noodles. 100% recommend to go.
Great place. Great food. Fun ambiance. My kids even loved it.
Dim Sum House has an excellent of dim sum plus other dishes. Everything is always good. I recommend the Cantonese dim sum sampler.
Try it all! The staff is always very helpful to make recommendations. Try a lychee martini!
I had the pleasure of dining here with my best friend and it is by far one of the best restaurants I’ve been too this year and one of my favorites. Please if you’re in the city stop by here you would be missing out if you didn’t and one suggestion try the Dan Dan noodles !!
One of the best Chinese cuisine meals that I have had in Philadelphia. Our initial reaction was: What, this is University City, not Chinatown !
I don't recall a restaurant of any type that I've had more helpful servers. Their recommendations were outstanding and their description of the various dishes were spot on. Hats off to a wonderfully run establishment.
PS: I read some other reviews that thought the prices were a bit high. There were 4 of us, all adults and the total bill was under $80.00 and we had to take some home. If that's too steep for your wallet, I suggest missing a couple of Lattes and then splurge. You won't regret it.
Great food. Fast service. Nice value for the $.
Best dim sum restaurant in the east coast and energetic and multicultural staff!!
