Dilly Bistro, Bar & Bottle Shop Ratings and Reviews
Wonderful birthday experience. Our server Tyler was one of 2 servers for the entire restaurant and it was buzzing, however you would never know. He was an absolute professional. No request was to much. He was cheerful, courteous and so helpful and made our birthdays very memorable!
We have loved Dilly for years, it has been a great neighborhood place with a great wine list and acceptable food that is very convenient to the movies. However, on this last visit the kitchen was REALLY slow (our server was fine) and the shrimp tacos were definitely not worth the price. They were two small tortillas with almost non-existent shrimp with a little sauce and shreds of slaw. We really felt that there was a distinct decline in quality.
The tables for 2 up against the wall are just not that comfortable - especially if you have reserved for a special occasion and the restaurant is not that full. Don't sit someone out with their spouse for a special event next to a family with small children and a noisy table of friends when there are lots of empty tables - next time I will speak up and request the table I would prefer as this seems to become more common that certain restaurants try to get folks to take the least desirable tables first. This used to be my favorite work night spot - but it just is not the same and food portions were much smaller. The sweet potato fries are still the best in town but the meat loaf has lost something. Still good but no longer great.
I booked a reservation for five people for 7pm. We waited for around 20 minutes, which was fine, but when we were seated no one came to serve us. After another 20 minutes I asked a busboy to find our waitress. It seems that they had canceled our server and no one was assigned to take over our table. We finally ordered our dinner and were served at 8pm. The food was okay, but the service was terrible. We have been coming here for years and will think twice about coming again.
The Dilly is a great place to listen to great music and get great food and wine. With the wine shop part of the restaurant, you can select your wine and only pay an additional $5.01 for corkage. Great way to taste some wines. Always excellent food selections and specials. And when the weather gets warm, you can't beat music outside in their courtyard.
The Deli is one of my favorite local spots, good selection of beer, and it appears wine. Usually a good meal, but “medium well” might be too well done, and “seared” might be what I call burnt. Service is always excellent, but the execution has been disappointing in at least the past year.
Restaurant was quite busy, so service from the kitchen was really slow. Communication from the server was too slow. I had no idea kitchen was backed up until I felt it was too late. Ordered the fish and chips and was quite underwhelmed with the quality. I've had better meals here, hopefully this was just one bad experience.
Disappointing... We had such hopes. We do date night every third Thursday of the month and Dilly was our choice for this month. Looked promising, but service was very slow. An hour into our wait our waitress told us "a bunch of Uber Eats orders came in all at once and we had to get those prepared and out." In other words, you've been sitting here in our establishment waiting on your food while we prepared food for a bunch of folks who aren't even here. Finally, when our food did come out it had obviously been sitting in a warming station. The fish was cold, the coleslaw was hot and the French fries were old. Drive down from West Chester for date night. Won't be returning.
We had the greatest dinner last night at Dilly Deli. Our group of 10 women were treated so great by our server Tyler. He did an amazing job with our orders, wine suggestions and checks. I also had the tastiest Yellowfin Ahi Tuna. It was such a large portion and prepared perfectly. It also was accompanied by the most delicious side. I don't know what it was called but it was great! Will definitely be back again, asking for Tyler to wait on us and ordering the Ahi!
First time at this restaurant. My wife and I went there for dinner tonight. The food was good, and fairly priced. The drinks were good, but I felt $10 for a mixed drink was a little too high. Service was very good, and our waitress was very attentive. There was a live jazz trio playing which made conversation difficult do to the volume. The music was mediocre at best.
