   Great food and decor. Server was very knowledgeable and cheerful. Everything is made to order so be patient for the food. The drinks were unique. Sangria thought needed brandy added. Overall a very good experience.

   Great food and atmosphere. But the service was so slow, it just was a damper on the evening. We had to get up more than once to ask a server to come over. Took 15 minutes just for a drink order. Then another 10 minutes just to get the drinks (one pitcher of margaritas, so not complicated). Took longer to get our foos order in, then the worst thing- brought entrees for all except one in our party. I assume the server got the order wrong, but we weren’t given any explanation or apology. And it took a long time to get that last dish served. Also poured water on one of our party. This when the restaurant was not that crowded. So truly poor service all around, the server was inexperienced, unapologetic, and just didn’t know what she was doing.

   With a table of more than 6 they have a 20% gratuity included, when the check came the tip on the bill was 35%. After the service being poor, we requested the tip be 20%, the tip still came back higher than 20%. It took 3 checks for the bill to be at 20%.

   Delicious entree. It was well prepared. The soup portion was too large. It was really a stew rather than a soup. The soup/stew was a meal all by itself.

   The queso was very good. The salsa is very bland and I don’t even like spicy salsa. There just wasn’t much to it besides cilantro. Cilantro is also the main ingredient in the guacamole. It was basically a cilantro salad with some avocados mixed in to it. My friend and I each had the grilled fish tacos. Corn tortillas are the only option and besides the fish you get tomatoes, a tiny amount of sauce and a bunch of cilantro. Very plain and not much flavor. Great atmosphere and staff. Ranch water and margaritas were really good.

    we enjoy this neighborhood gem for date nights! the staff is always so friendly and the space is lively without being too active or noisy. the vegetarian and vegan options really stand out and are yummy...but so are the meat-based options as well. definitely worth a visit!

    We have been to Diego's several times before and it was always great. This time we were a little disappointed in the food. It was pretty bland. One of our party ordered shrimp tacos and they had 2 shrimp each. We will go back, I know they've had a lot going on, so I'm hopeful this was an anomaly.

    We are originally from the southwest. For over 40 years, we have been looking for a good Mexican restaurant in St Louis. While the menu is not a traditional one, it still offers the flavors we have been searching for. We will definitely be returning. The only item we were disappointed with was the salsa.

    Second time in. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is average, the service is bad. They cut off access to chips at an arbitrary time. At first the server refused to split the check, then did and did it incorrectly and it was never resolved correctly. Also very unpleasant.

    This was a much anticipated return trip to Diego’s for us, we had really enjoyed our first experience back in 2022. After a couple nights of attempting to walk in without a reservation and finding it too packed (which made us want to come back even more) we finally remembered to make a reservation ahead of time and came back! For the first 20 minutes though, we noticed that not only was it not nearly as busy (half full at most), no one came to our table to take our order. We just sat there as multiple times, multiple servers walked by with nothing in hand and in no rush elsewhere to serve other patrons. Once we finally did order and get our food, we noticed that the quality was very substandard. The various chicken tacos and the fish taco, were either bland or downright foul tasting. It was quite a disappointment for us as it’s so close, but we won’t be returning to Diego’s anytime soon.

    The tacos with the grilled cheese shell are my favorite, but honestly, everything on the menu is so very fresh and delicious you can’t go wrong. Everything about Diego’s is luscious , lovely, warm and welcoming.

    Really enjoyed Diego’s! The service was excellent and the food was very food. The margs are clearly freshly squeezed (which makes them a little tart for my taste). It was very busy which made it quite loud. We’ll return!

    First time here and it was very good. The ambiance is incredible, lots of very nice details from fresh flowers to the very cool lighting and the food was delicious. I was however a little put off that given the pricing everything was a la carte- that's okay, but charging for additional salsa when the quantity was probably less than 1/2 cup...? We will go back because of the quality of the food and the ambiance, but will be more prepared for the pricing.

    Diego’s is a fantastic dining experience all around. The service is always absolutely superb - friendly, accommodating, prompt and enjoyable. Our waiter was witty, respectful and always ready to help make the experience the best it could be with recommendations and service. Now to the food - it’s the best. The grilled cheese shell is phenomenal….PHENOMENAL. A MUST. The margaritas are delicious with light, fruity flavor options that aren’t overly sweet. The queso is flaming, literally they light it on fire. And the grilled banana dessert is the perfect little sweet ending to a meal. The atmosphere is delightful with greenery and twinkle lights and cozy details all around. This place is trendy and cozy all at once with excellent service and food for decent prices. It’s one of my favorites and I highly recommend.
