The food and service was wonderful.
Long wait to order and then for food. Had to ask for side dishes after entrees were delivered. Captain was basically absent. Not worth the high price.
We love Dickie Brennan’s and eat here every time we are in New Orleans. We were a little disappointed by this visit though. Both of our steaks had to be sent back, and our drinks were empty for most of the meal. I assume this was just an off night.
The service was terrific, Troy was as a trip!. Every steak and prime rib ordered at our table was over cooked. We only sent one back as med-rare showed up well done. No one likes to ever send food back, I hate writing a review about a bad meal. The apps were good, the crab cake is simple lump crab in the shape of a cake and was tasty. My expectation of a Brennan prime steak house being one of the best was disappointing.
Our reservation was at opening (5:30 PM). We showed at 5:20 and were offered the bar to wait until dining room was open. We ordered wine and after several other people were called for their reservation, we went out and asked about ours (now 5:45). The lady at the counter said that she didn’t know we were done and then rifle asked whether we had closed the bar bill (for one martini and two glasses wine). Having never been here we did. It know but went and did that. The staff was aloof and then took us down to the dining room and although many tables were open, we were then seated in a dark, crowded corner right next to the ordering stations for the wait staff. Only one young man, who brought the water, explained to us that all items are ordered separately (steaks come with no sides) - and he was lovely. The waitress barely acknowledged us and my husband had to eat with the hip of wait staff off his shoulder practically the whole meal because of the staff traffic to those order stations. My uncle was facing essentially the wall and the noise was also high because of staff interaction. I recommend abandoning that table back in the right corner because I can’t imagine that being a pleasant dining experience for anyone. The steak was wonderful and perfectly cooked, but as stated previously, all sides are additional cost, which was interesting - not sure why they don’t just up the prices to include the sides and offer at least a salad or potato. Our family really wanted to go here because of trips long ago, but I would not dine here again - the food was solid but sometimes we actually are paying for the ambiance and experience, not just a steak. Very disappointing.
Worst dining experience I have ever had in New Orleans- and there is no close second. The staff made errors on every course, and disappeared for 20 minutes at a time. I had them check 4 times on the status of our entrees, which wound up taking 1 hour and 15 minutes to receive after our salads/entrees- which, by the way, were wrong as well. The manager came over to apologize, and wound up comping us one cocktail “for our troubles”- what a joke. Food was OK, but not great for the price. Would never, ever, EVER dine here again.
We dined here the week after Mardi Gras. The restaurant was busy and bustling. Our servers were helpful and attentive. Both my husband and I had to send our steaks back because they weren’t cooked the way we ordered, but our server handled it well and got us new steaks quickly. Our favorite items were the turtle soup, creamed corn, prime rib and lobster. Would recommend for a great steak dinner.
Staff was great help me propose to my fiancee after other plans failed.
Took my wife to celebrate valentine day. Outstanding restaurant! Food was excellent, ambiance was amazing. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
First time to dine there, it was our honeymoon and we could not have been more pleased with the atmosphere, staff and food!
We had one of the best meals EVER and we have been dining in fine restaurants for over 50 years!!! Everything was perfect and Hilray, our server, was outstanding.
Have to say we were generally disappointed.
Nothing was terribly wrong, just sort of “meh.” Perhaps our expectations were too high. The steak was a solid 3 out of 5 Stars and the housemade Worcestershire sauce was a home run. My wife’s shrimp dish with the heads still on was not very appetizing, and IMO not a good decision on the chef’s part for the typical American palate. Their onion rings were very disappointing: soggy and bland. Great service overall and their bar is nice with a shout-out to bartender Madison. We would probably return for cocktails and an app at the bar, but dine elsewhere.
The food, presentation and atmosphere were very good. The service staff could stand some improvement.
Recommended to us by locals to try during our visit to Mardi Gras. Thankfully parking was convenient, unlike most of NO. Arrived early, enjoyed the bar. Matt was congenial and engaging. We were promptly seated and served by three wait staff. Our expectations were exceeded. We, of course, had steak, added a lobster tail as well. The only things I would suggest is make sure the bread is hot and fresh before serving ( our first piece was cool and dry) and I would prefer the drawn butter in a ramekin served in a butter warmer to keep it hot. One other thing, a true Caesar Salad has the anchovies blended into the dressing rather than draped over the lettuce (the option of without anchovies was offered). Finally, the dessert menu that was verbally given was somewhat limited compared to the published menu. Disappointed because we had hoped for bananas foster though I had the bananas cheesecake which was disappointing. My wife had the creme brulee, which she enjoyed. I must also compliment the maitre d as I encountered him several times outside the dining room and he always addressed me by name and expressed his desire to see our needs were met throughout the evening. Overall a relaxed enjoyable evening, never feeling rushed, always properly attended to and above all, superb steak. Bon Apetite!
Simply amazing! From cocktails to dessert, absolutely flawless presentation. Wait staff couldn't be more knowlegable and attentive. and of course, the steaks are LEGENDARY!!
My favorite restaurant in NOLA! The food, presentation, and service was impeccable!
The good here is truly amazing! Honestly the best Valentine’s Day dinner ever. From the impeccable service to the truly mouth-watering food, you cannot go wrong. My favorite NOLA restaurant!
I can’t say enough about our dinner! 4 adults and a well behaved 2 year old....we had the large filets, ribeye, and a lobster tail. Salads were delicious. Gumbo was great (and I’m a local), steaks were cooked perfectly, our sides were Augratin potatoes, asparagus, and onion rings which were all worth ordering again, and lastly for dessert, we had the French toast bread pudding which was amazing!!!! They did offer a kid’s menu also! We will be back!
My wife and I was the first couple in the restaurant and the food was luke warm and not hot as if it was just prepared. These food items were prime rib, cream spinach, and mash potatoes.
Exceptional service, food was very good and rapid service for being there during Mardi gras.
Amazing food, service and ambiance!!
Dickie Brennan's steakhouse was wonderful! We had steak & lobster, along with bread pudding and cheesecake for dessert. It was recommended to us by a friend & I would 100% recommend this restaurant to someone as well. We will definitely be going back next time we visit New Orleans!
Always top notch drink, food, and service. Love the acapello serenading group!
Exceptional experience. Steaks were excellent along with salad (split for two) and sides: oysters, creamed spinach and asparagus. Mardi Gras trio was a delight for us, they sang stand by me, my girl, and others. Aewsome!
We visit the French Quarter twice a year and always make one night a Dickie Night. Great food and service. This visit, they thanked us for being a return customer and gave my wife and I an appetizer taste which was delicious.
This is our favorite restaurant in New Orleans! The food is just outstanding and we love the ambience in the bar.
Fabulous service, delicious food and great wine. I recommend the turtle soup, it was delicious. The filet melted in my mouth. You must save room for desert. The banana foster cheesecake combined my two favorite deserts and it did not disappoint. It will be our must go to place next trip.
Excellent service and our meal was great.
Wonderful and memorable dinner.
