Drink order was wrong; appetizer never arrived; beef overcooked on 1; undercooked on the other; everything wrong. Manager called and took everything off the bill to make it right, which is something we never do. Undeservedly, we tipped waitress much more than she deserved. Classy Manager/sommelier deserves to work at a higher end restaurant. Amazingly disappointing meal.
It took 20 minutes to get our bottle of wine. Our server rocommend the crayfish cakes as a appetizer, nothing special and was way overpriced. The steaks at two tables around us weren’t cooked as ordered which created a chaotic environment. This was our go to for steaks but we will be trying other restaurants in NOLA now.
The place was exceptionally busy so the the "captain" that was supposed to go over the menu never showed up. Partly through my fault I was misled by a very nice but. possibly inexperienced in filling the role she did, talked my into ordering a combination other than what i really wanted so, at the end of the day, I was not happy.
Recommended by a friend. Very good experience. We love a great steak and found just that at Dickie Brennan's. sweet potato was over the top delicious. Will definitely return.
Positives: Service was fabulous. The Coconut Cake was spectacular.
Negatives: We'd been to this "Top 10 Steakhouse" twice before, but it had been 5 years. The steaks had previously been outstanding, but this time the ribeye my husband had was not cooked to his liking(server agreed), but the kitchen manager who delivered it had a definite snobbish attitude. The replacement steak was alright, but undercooked.
"Living on Reputation" sums up our review.
Dinner with my son was very special. Outstanding service.
We were placed at the first overflow table when you go to bottom of step. Service was terrible. Filet medium was well done. Had to ask to reorder wine. No one paying attention. Terrible.
Food - mediocre Service - poor Ordered cola, twice but it never came Waiter didn’t know the menu, nor what specials were available. In my opinion, this is a miss, there are too many better restaurants within walking distance to suffer through an experience here
Although the food was superb, as usual, as well as the service, we did notice a slight difference in the polish (or lack thereof) in the staff. Normally the staff is neat as a whistle, but Thursday night they seemed a bit unkempt. We love to come eat steak at DB Steakhouse and will return as often as we can!
Excellent, sensitive service was really the highlight. Solid appetizers (crawfish cake and baked oysters) were pricey, but worth the serene setting in the hectic French quarter area.
The food was excellent, as always. The particular waiter we had could have been more attentive. I told them I wanted to order wine with my dinner but they never returned for that order.
Quality steakhouse menu better than most. Had a crawfish cake special appetizer which was an excellent start, followed by a nice arugula salad.. nicely dressed. Both prime rib and petite filet were perfectly prepared with au jus and french cream sauce. Creamed spinach and truffle Mac both excellent.
The food and service was excellent. Overall an awesome experience. Would recommend to anyone going to New Orleans!!!
Quite crowded and noisy in the bar but staff, food and service was exemplary.
Families last night in New Orleans and we wanted something truly special, and that’s what we got. Everything was outstanding from the cheese plate appetizer and wine to the steaks and side dishes. We even splurged and had the bread pudding and Crème brûlée for desert, and like everything else it was delicious. We will definitely be back!!!!!
I read a yelp review that said this place was not kid friendly. Let me tell you, this place was warm, welcoming and entirely kid friendly while enjoying the best fresh meets and salads around. I was so impressed by the friendly and attentive staff and really touched by how they catered to all of us, especially my children ages 6 and 10. Kid portions, plates split and endless Shirley temples with a cool glass of milk with dessert. Chef Greg and our amazing staff were truly a highlight of our visit to New Orleans. Thank you!
The food and atmosphere was outstanding and as good as that was the entire staff was over the top friendly and made us feel like they had known us for years! Dickie Brennan's will be a must stop on our next visit!
Felt ignored by servers. Other tables more important than ours.
Gray service, amazing food, always a great time!
We went to Brennan's as our first stop on our first stop in New Orleans. We were not sure what to expect so arrived early. The immediately seated us at a great booth. The wait staff was immediately there for all our questions. We started with a classic appetizer Crab cakes, but Crab was out of season and they replaced it with Crawfish. It was amazing. we followed that with the Chateaubriand. The plate of food was amazing. Steak was melt in your mouth amazing. It was paired with Two types of potatoes, asparagus, and fresh vegetables. We ate what the two of us could but left room for desert. The meal could feed three or more. We finished off with the desert Trio of cakes. The Sweet potato praline cake was the best. The Chocolate and Coconut cakes were good but the praline was the best. even better was the discussion with the wait staff on how it came to be on the menu. Make sure to ask if you order. Overall the experience was one of the best we had while in New Orleans.
The hostess was absolutely incompetent. We wait a half hour because she forgot us. The waiter was very gentle, but the arriving experience spoiled the dinner
steak was sent back four times and still not done medium well. no apologies or concern until we addressed a manager after we paid . women’s bathroom was a mess. not a great experience and quality was not as good as previous trips.
Wonderful steak restaurant right in the French Quarter. This is the second time we’ve there and will return if ever in New Orleans again! Great service! We had reservations and got seated right away!
Nice atmosphere. Food was average. I would probably eat here again.
We love Dickie Brennan Steakhouse. always a table, always good food
Dickie Brennan’s never disappoints. Food and service are a 10. I always look forward to going back!!!!
It was fantastic. One of our favorite restaurants in Nola
Awesome meal, great service!!!
Friday in lent so I got the lemon fish with crawfish tails. Very good but the Steak are the prize here.
The food and service was fantastic!! They gave us a beautiful cake for anniversary free!!
Not nearly as good as when I visited New Orleans several years ago.
Staff was professional with the exception of the bar tender.
The food and the service were way above par. The live music was a nice added touch. We will definitely dine there again the next time we are in town.
Excellent prime rib, done just right. The horseradish was fresh and potent. The service was very attentive and friendly.
Excellent food and service.
Always a wonderful experience, great service and tasty food!
Great food and service!
the filet was cooked perfectly and we like our meat rare. I recommend the baked sweet potato with honey and nuts. It is like dessert. The side dishes are large enough to share. The desserts are wonderful. We each got a different kind of cake and couldn't decide which was better. I definitely would return the next time I am in New Orleans.
