Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse
“Top Steakhouses in America” Maxim Magazine and Playboy, and featured in the Wall Street Journal, Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse serves straightforward prime steaks with a New Orleans touch. Signature dishes and sides include: The House Filet (served with masa flash-fried Louisiana oysters), Tomato Blue Cheese Napoleon, Pontalba Potatoes, and a Roasted Sweet Potato with Creole Pecan Butter. We enjoyed the special Coolinary menu. Food was delicious!
Our server was attentive and not overbearing. A wonderful time was had by all.
From the moment we walked in it was perfect. They were ready for us and took us directly to our table. We had an excellent waiter and an assistant that seemed to pop up just when he needed help. Food was great although we ordered a little to much. But how can you not with all the good sides. The green beens were just perfect, they made a joke because they did not come out with everything else that they had to go to the farm and get them but they did taste like it. Our steak was done just like we ordered it and was incredibly tender.
Food was awesome. Great service! We will be back on our next trip.
Corn and crab soup not to hot but service was great the rest of food delicious au gratin very good steak cooked perfectly overall will eat their again
Great experience overall. High energy room and lots of activity which made the experience more enjoyable.
The food was ok. The experience was ok. There was nothing special about this steakhouse to make us go back with all the other options in NOLA.
Food was excellent, but pricey. Service was outstanding! Wine list, amazing! Our best dinner while on our vacay, but also our most expensive.
Very great staff loved the food nice setting. We overall had a very great dinner.
Our waiter Alfredo was one of the best we’ve ever had!!! Our steaks and sides were delicious. The service is outstanding, attentive and not overbearing. Our favorite NOLA restaurant!
Jorge, our server was great, no issues there. Tableside martinis have too much basil for my taste. Steaks very underseasoned, actually had to ask for salt. Au gratin potatos, wedge salad, bread were very good. Chocolate cake was average. Hopefully it was just an off night as this restaurant came highly recommended.
As always, the food is incomparable. The staff is welcoming. It’s like coming home after being away too long.
I highly recommend this establishment. The service was beyond awesome. Everyone had a smile on their face. I will definitely be returning
The most amazing night! Our service was outstanding. We will definitely come back when in NOLA.
Great time with family as food and service was excellent.
Service was impeccible from the beginning to the end. Food was delicious and the steaks were perfectly cooked. Desserts were incredible, don't skip!
It was our wedding anniversary!
It’s overpriced, poor quality, and under staffed
When I made the reservation I notated it was my husband’s 50th birthday dinner and it wasn’t even acknowledged. The steaks at Copeland’s are seasoned better than the filets we ate at Dickie Brennan’s. The portions a la cart are supposed to be enough for two yet the green beans (which are cheap) we’re served in a small ramekin justt enough for one. Service was good.
Top-notch service and the food was delicious. It’s an experience that everyone should try.
This was our first visit. Absolutely great steaks, perfectly prepared and presented. Loved the Caesar Salad. Very attentive service. Can’t wait to come back.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse. The steaks were perfect. The turtle soup was fantastic. Sazeracs were the best we’ve had. Marquis was friendly, very helpful and professional. A truly outstanding dining experience.
Everything was fantastic from the minute we walked in.
By far this was the best meal my wife and I have ever had. The service was amazing.
The barbecue ribeye was delicious. The oyster appetizer was really awesome.
Dickie Brennan's is tucked away between Bourbon St. and Royal St. and was a perfect location! The food was five stars. I had the wedge salad, filet, and shared the au gratin potatoes with my husband. He had the filet with lobster tail. The potatoes were the best we've had anywhere! I like my steaks well done (I know, I know...) and the filet was still so tasty and juicy. Our server was friendly but slow. This may still be due to Covid and the restaurant being short-staffed. I would certainly go back!
We visited the restaurant for a birthday celebration while on vacation in New Orleans. We were excited for the evening. The decor is a little outdated but we were greeted and seated immediately. Our table was in the back in a semi private room type of set up with approximately 6 tables. We had an older waiter named Alfredo. We placed our order and several members of our party ordered appetizers (no entree) and two ordered entrees (no appetizers). Alfredo didn't ask us how we'd liked to be served and he didn't process that all people would like to eat together, so the appetizers came and those people ate while the others watched and then the entrees came and the others watched. It made for an awkward celebration when the appetizers could've been scheduled to come with the entrees so we could all eat together. I ordered the petite filet medium rare, it was prepared medium but I waited so long to eat, I didn't risk sending it back. The drinks were sub par - I sent mine back. Alfredo was VERY SLOW and he messed up one of the orders entirely. I didn't finish my steak and there was NEVER any mention of the birthday. I don't have to ever go back to this restaurant and recommend if you visit, request anyone other than Alfredo as your server.
We arrived early to enjoy a drink at the bar. We were told we could be seated early. We responded we prefer to have a drink. While at the bar, 2 hosts came to tell us our table was ready so we reluctantly sat down early. We noticed plenty of very casually dressed customers. Shorts, T-shirts etc. definitely not adhering to any dress code. It was restaurant week so we were looking to get a sampling of what is typically a good representation of their best sellers. We ordered the caprese salad (very mediocre)as well as the vichyssoise (amazing). We both ordered the twin filet choice medium rare. My husband commented that the twins must have been premies lol. The filets were overcooked and rather unattractive. We also had to request salt to season the meat. I don’t mind a smaller portion but I expected a better steak. It’s a steak restaurant after all. We were told that 3 kitchen employees were absent as a means of apology.
The waiter Chris was very good. We appreciated his wine recommendation.
Overall, we felt rushed. The food was just okay. The ambiance was not special. Probably would recommend many other restaurants before this one.
Great food, and service.
Great place for a romantic dinner. Outstanding service and food.
Jerrard was the best!! He got the Master Som to our table immediately and was brilliant throughout the dinner!
Ambience, food, everything was great as always. Especially our server Lorenzo. Very energetic. Made great tableside cocktails. Great menu recommendations and very personable with fun facts and things to do in the area. We will be back for sure.
Wonderful dining experience and the A cappella just made the night even more wonderful. This was truly an excellent evening.
My waiter Lorenzo was absolutely amazing ! He really took care of me and helped me find my new favorite wine ! The atmosphere was perfect & the food was outstanding
Excellent wine list. Steak prepared perfectly. Service was exceptional.
Impeccable food and service. Alfredo was a great server
We had six diners, two orders were completely wrong, We were told the fish would be Black Grouper, were served Tuna instead, I ordered the strip, medium rare, was so over cooked I couldn't eat it (They didn't charge for the two Tuna's or the steak. Three steaks were great, two filets and one ribeye. Lady ordered cocktails twice and recieved the wrong order each time.
Was really looking forward to the evening and was extremely disappointed. From out of town, and had also planned to eat at the Palace Cafe but after this experience we ate elsewhere.
Visited during Restaurant Week. The filet mignon is good but a great deal in compare to the price paid. The taste is superb.
Overall Staff services are exceptional. In particular, Mr. Loronzo's table service was outstanding.
Exceptional service and a wonderful menu full of upscale New Orleans favorites. Our server, Lorenzo, was extremely knowledgeable about the cocktails and dishes, and was able to make excellent recommendations. We enjoyed our meals immensely, and loved our dining experience at Dickie Brennan's. We will absolutely be back next time we are in town!
Great service, great food!
Absolutely amazing! Th food and service was beyond expectation!
