Cant blame the restaurant too much. They were just not prepared for outside dining due to Covid. No heaters outside so it was cold.
Food was OK, a little on the Greasy side. Our waitress was new, But she was friendly and helpful. Price was a tad bit high but overall the experience was pleasant. Grateful they were open on a Sunday evening because most other places were closed.
We chose to eat outside and the flies were really bad and it was pretty warm
... they need some fans maybe it will keep the flies away ?
Food was not good. Taste and decor is very dated. Nice people, but we’re not coming back.
We were so happy to be back inside out of the heat and the smoke!
It was great sitting outside and enjoy the fresh air. Services and food were outstanding
The restaurant has changed since I was last there. It's beautiful, the food and service was excellent. I felt fortunate to be able to get a reservation on a Saturday night and look forward to returning.
Great service from John and the food was very good and reasonably priced.
Always seems to be many flies here. The service was slower than usual too.
We come at least once every year while attending the local Hot Raqs festival. Staff is always so kind and accommodating and the food is excellent!
I loved the ambiance, the food was good. We were looking for an alternative to eat at besides the pricey resort we were staying at. This was still, I felt a little pricey for pasta, but worth the trip to come see the restaurant. I enjoyed that they had Frank Sinatra videos playing and some old school crooners to serenade me during dinner. The building is quite impressive and gives you the feeling that you are sitting in the courtyard of an Italian villa's. The service was great, so if I was ever back in the area, I would defiantly come again.
Great atmosphere, great service, and excellent food! Also, loved the piano player on stage. I got the manicotti and it was delicious!
Music was fantastic, service was friendly and the food was outstanding!
We had a large group and we made a reservation and we were seated immediately. Excellent service and nice atmosphere.
We couldn’t have asked for a better place to start our New Year’s Eve celebrations. Food was outstanding and so was the service. The atmosphere was perfect. I’m so glad we chose this restaurant for the start of our evening. With all the good food and wine we completely forgot to let them know it was an anniversary dinner celebration. But we will be back again.
Service was horrible and a pasta dish was bland. There were many mishaps with our bill and the tables around us weren’t bussed at all. I wouldn’t recommend this place for a meal at all.
Didn’t have our reservation when we got there. Counts make proper accommodations. Wanted to separate our group of 8 on two different tables. Left and found a better place
I'd recommend this restaurant on a night that no one is in there. We arrived for our 5:30 reservation that they did not have, but a kind gentleman that worked there (not manager) managed to get us seated by 5:45. The restaurant was almost full with several tables set aside for reservations, but manager, waiters, waitresses appeared extremely flustered. They were friendly enough, but in such a rush it was not a pleasant dining experience. Then to top it off we ordered our food right away (by 6:00 pm) and did not receive our food until 7:00 pm (minus the bread and our salads that we received in expected time). The food was edible and close to room temperature, but not delicious as we had hoped. Usually I take home leftovers when dining out, I left over half my meal. Actually, not one of the eight of us brought home our leftovers. Perhaps our experience would have been tolerable if the staff had apologized, asked about our food, or been a little warmer. We felt like we were putting them off by being there and to be honest we were very patient as we had all been looking forward to some good Italian food and thought good things come to those who wait...well, not that night.
Myself and my date had an enjoyable time. There were no problems.
Great place and highly recommended. This was a referral by the hotel and top pick here.
This is a good value local Italian restaurant. It has good food with nice atmosphere.
We had reservations and were seated immediately. Water was friendly and attentive. Only three items on menu and high priced. With that, the food should have been the best quality of meat or seafood. Was not, couldn't chew the steak and shrimp were small and tasteless. Will not go back to this restaurant.
Great food- but service was a little lacking. Took awhile to be acknowledged and helped. Again, food and drinks were really good, though.
Great food and service! We had a group of 8 and they were serving 2 other large banquet parties which would normally effect the food, but everything was timely and service attentive. Large food portions and plenty of options on the menu for everyone. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.
Everything was great, except the bread.
White bread and hard butter, not good.
We took our daughter for her 6th birthday because she loves Raviolis. I had my favorite Scarface and we all loved our meal. Hands down the best DiCicco's in the valley. Oh and the secret salad dressing!!!!!!! Will come back for sure.
absolutely the worst place we have been ,the service was bad didn't even have a place setting the waiter looked like she was in not even with us . do not recommend this place
We were seated quickly and the staff was incredibly friendly. The food was just ok though. We got garlic cheesy bread for an appetizer and it was decent, the bread used for it was dry though. My cheese raviolis were pretty good, but my boyfriends lasagna was on the verge of being disgusting. The noodles were soggy and the meat tasted unnaturally sweet. The Dicicco's in Sanger, which i go to usually, is honestly so much better than the one in Clovis.
Annie our server was excellent .. cant believe you dont serve wine in carraff
Visiting Fresno for the 2nd time. Had dinner here 4 years ago and it was fantastic and it still is! We used to go to the Di Ciccos in Santa Clara and the one in Campbell back in the early '80s and it was our favorite. It seems that it must be traditional family recipes because the menu is still the same. The bread must be home made Italian and it the best. They also make a garlic bread covered in cheese that we ordered. I had Rigatoni with an Italian sausage that was really tasty and my wife had the lasagna. Even the salads are great. Highly recommended!
Loved the food and Customer service.
I was a bit apprehensive after reading the reviews mentioning noisy music, but we ate here on a Thursday night and did not experience this problem. We had an almost 3 year-old and a 5-week old nursing baby with us, so were appreciative of the booth provided.
Everyone else in the group had been to DiCicco's in Old Town Clovis before, and praised the food. We all ordered something different, from spaghetti to lasagna to eggplant, and several people left with food in boxes. The portions are a good size and the items we chose were tasty. The restaurant was quite busy, so the service was a bit slow.
We all found street parking, but had to drive around the block twice to find spots nearby.
the food was delicious and the service was friendly.
I have been here every weekend for the last month. Music has been very, very good. Service couldn't be any better. I am a fan of their food. I am disabled and in a wheel chair and they make sure my seating is easy for me to navigate . I would recommend them as a great place for anything from a date to a family reunion.
Everything is good, but calzones, in my opinion, are the best value on the menu. They will also smother them in extra cheese and sauce for a couple dollars more!
The four of us (2 authentic Italian's) yearned for an authentic Italian meal and this restaurant was conveniently across from out hotel. Our entree's were tasty, the waitress(s) nice; but our desert consisted of 1 (very small) scoop of Spumoni. Around lunch time, my husband and I had ventured to the restaurant to view the dinner menu and had asked if the chef would be willing to prepare Cannolis. The waitress volunteered she had never heard of Cannolis but did ask the chef, who said he didn't know how to make them. Our dinner meal and service were fine, but next time we're in Clovis / Fresno, we probably won't return. Maybe it's like comparing apples to oranges, but Bibi (Sacramento) is hard to beat...
I don't usually give bad reviews, but me and my wife had a bad experience. We were there for the two city marathon and we like to eat pasta before run the next day. We ordered the calamari, it was more like calamari crumbs, like it came from the bottom of the bag. It had more cilantro then calamari. Then are pasta dinner came, it only took about an hour to get, we thought they were back there making fresh pasta it took so long. We had two seafood pasta dishes. It was horrible. The sauce was just poured on top of the pasta, it looked like it came from a can. The seafood part if there was a seafood part, was never to be seen. Very little seafood to mention anything about it. For $20 you expect more. HORRIBLE!!!!
We book a table for 7 on a Sunday at 5pm. There were very few people in the restaurant since it was an early booking. It took over an hour to get our spaghetti dishes and 2 people who ordered a pizza from our group got theirs after 1 hour 20 min. The food was only warm and not anything special. This place was a recommendation since we where there for the marathon. What a miserably painful experience!!
Try the Scarface! Perfect everytime. Always great service and Italian food.
This was our first time in the Fresno area and we checked OpenTable for a restaurant for dinner with friends also there for a meeting the following day. This turned out to be a very good choice. We requested a table near the entrance and got it. We were seated right away. We ordered a bottle of J. Lore 2011 cab which the went through a very elaborate decanting process and the wine was very good. The menu had everything one would expect on an Italian menu and then some. Both our servers were excellent. The food was very good and plenty of it. The prices were about where we expected they would be, low to mid $20's for dinners and mid teens for pasta dishes. We didn't have desert but the salad and soup were also good.
