Fantastic! We booked a 6pm reservation prior to our 8pm show. Thinking we would need all of two hours.....surprise! The food comes out lightning fast, hot, prepared properly and very tasty. The wine list is small but provides decent pairing options. Service was impeccable. Prices might be a touch too high but we knew the prices prior to arrival and having this dinner coupled with our show, just made it a very nice date night.
Great food and service.
Great restaurant and convenient for the Hobby Centef.
The restaurant was really packed with diners, and I think both the servers and drink people were a bit overwhelmed. We wish we had had Ruby to refill drinks, but we weren’t in her station. As a result, we had to ask each time we needed something. The food, though, more than made up for the slow service. Their butternut squash soup was outstanding. I had trout while my mother had the pasta risotto. Both were flavorful and very delicious.
New menu, good service and an awareness of the staff about timing of the shows in the Hobby Center make it the place to eat pre-theatre
Excellent food but poor service. Our waitress was the very definition of disinterested. Not rude, but not a single smile or any personality at all. Seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else and just going through the motions. We did not feel welcome nor appreciated by our server at all.
I wish tables were a little better placed so wait staff could reach all around the tables instead of depending on guests to handle dishes.
The soup as always was amazing. The kitchen messed up one of our orders, but the manager ended up not charging us for it which was very nice. We also appreciated Ruby who kept our glasses filled and checked on us especially after the order problem. She’s a good employee that always goes above and beyond for us. We are excited that there’s a new chef and can’t wait to see what new dishes he adds to the menu. Hopefully, they’ll keep the cheesecake because with its pecan crust it really is the best in the city.
The food was horrible, Fish was fishy smelling and cold. Re ordered and chicken was cold, Too bad as this is a perfect location.
The surf and turf was DELICIOUS!!!!!!! Our waiter, Benny, was wonderful! We had the best birthday celebration! Thanks Diana American Grill!
Delicious meal. There is a Prix fixe menu, which I appreciate (even if it a bit pricey for lunch). I've been waiting a long time for them to open after the previous restaurant in that location closed. It was worth the wait!
Everything was good
Although the location and service were both excellent, the food was 3rd rate and very overpriced. Items on the menu seemed appealing but were poorly executed with low quality ingredients. Disappointing.
We came back to Diana after receiving a very nice note of apology from the Manager. He went over and beyond to make sure all went well that evening. And he achieved it! We were very impressed with his GREAT customer service. I can tell the restaurant is really trying to listen to and keep their diners.
We have been back again since this visit.
It really is a great place to eat before seeing a show.
Good food, good service, good ambiance, but overpriced for what you get. Very convenient when attending an event at the Hobby Center and I go there often because of my season tickets for TUTS and Broadway Series, but that does not make up for being overpriced compared to other restaurants.
The ambiance is excellent, but don't go for lunch unless you have extra time. One of my guests had to leave because our order had not been taken in a reasonable amount of time. I had to ask twice for my ice tea. My lunch was fine, but my other guest sent hers back because the crab cakes were dry and hard. This is not what I had experienced when dining at this location in the past. Hopefully, it was a very off day rather than being the new norm. I won't be back any time soon.
One of my favorite spots for business lunch. Offers great cuisine and solid service. Generally quiet and offers a stellar view of downtown.
Love the restaurant and people! We are season subscribers to TUTS and each at Diana's every time we go the theatre!
I had an amazing lunch at Diane American Grill. They have really improved their food. The chips and dip that you start out with were delicious. They are making them thicker and changed the dip. So good! Of course, we had their soup because it is absolutely the best soup ever. Today, I tried the gulf snapper. Wow! I can’t wait to order this again. Just a side note, as we were escorted to our table, we were told that our waitress was new. You’d never had known it. Shae took great care of us. We never wanted for anything. I would absolutely sit in her section again. We finished our meal with their cheesecake. I can’t say enough about this incredible dessert. After eating Diane American Grill’s cheesecake, you will never want cheesecake at another restaurant. We just had a wonderful experience today. Thank you, Diane American Grill!
We enjoyed the atmosphere of the restuarant and very much appreciated the service if our wait staff, Selina. We also liked how the manger walked around and checked in with us about our meal.
Worst experience ever
Soup was lukewarm and flavorless. No seasoning. Had to send crab cakes back because they were literally cold. They didn’t make new ones - just reheated what we sent back. Chef apologized and gave us card for free crab cakes on next visit. Ha! Why didn’t they comp them? I can’t use the credit because I won’t be returning...
Fantastically convenient prior to or after theater! Bright, light and pleasant in the day time and elegant views of downtown at night. Enjoy a varied menu of choices that will (or should) meet everyone's desires. I especially recommend the house salad and the lobster mac and cheese side dish - together they make a great meal.
Maurice was an amazing waiter! He was attentive without hovering and knew the menus well enough to make great suggestions.
The food was excellent, as usual, and the service was great. Our server was Oseas, and he was attentive to our needs without hovering. Much appreciated.
In the Hobby Center, connects to TUTS Theater so really convenient if you are going to the theater. Fast service since they know many customers are going to the theater. Highly recommended.
Great food and service. We’ll be back!
As always, Diana American Grill came through with delicious food, delicious wine and the friendliest service. This is the perfect pre-show dining spot for the Hobby Theatre. Our waitress, Angie, was delightful and very helpful with her suggestions. The proprietor, Marcello, knows wine very well and can suggest wonderful wines to go with any dish. We’ll book at Diana for every show!
Celebrating my deceased mothers birthday with my sisters then the show
We arrived a few minutes after 6pm with theatre tickets for 7:30. Waitress eventually got drinks and entree order. then came back and asked for entree order again. in the meantime people all around us who arrived after us were eating. but not us. eventually the three orders came. all were cold. not warm. cold. it was returned. shortly after 7pm the entrees arrived again. manager came by and comped dessert. all in all not a pleasant experience. we were rushed to make the theatre and took our drinks with us
Love Diana. My friend and I go there every time we go to a show and the fabulous service and food are consistent every time
Enjoyed our experience - not fond of the food, but I think it was just a bad choice on my part... I would go again and order something different!
A bit pricey but worth the splurge. Angie was our server and she was super helpful.
Our waiter was not organized at all, and he was very short in his answers - bad day?
The soup as always was spectacular. Wendell, our server, did an excellent job taking care of us. The restaurant was crowded but we never even noticed because everyone made sure we had everything we needed. We finished our meal with the cheesecake. This has to be hands down the best in the city. The nut crust is amazing! We have reservations for the next few Hobby Center shows and can’t wait to return.
Perfect and convenient restaurant the play
The service was excellent this time, and the food was great. We finished dinner in time to have dessert, and it did not disappoint. We will definitely go back before the theater.
The service from Maurice was exceptional. The food was good but not great. The lobster on the surf & turf was ice cold. Drinks & dessert very good. It is a good place for convenience when going to the theater but wouldn’t go there otherwise.
