Diamonds Steak & Seafood - Royal Oak
Food was good, however Service was not coordinated. Drinks were put in front of the wrong person. The same happened with the Food, ridiculous!! Presentation of Food needs improvement, a huge pile of mashed Potatoes and the Fish was thrown on top of it? Really not a nice presentation! Felt rushed between Appetizers and main course, for the amount of Money we spent the Service was far from adequate!!! Also very pricey
I had high expectations for this restaurant and my visit didn’t meet them for the reasons below:
1. The temperature in the restaurant was not comfortable (hot and humid).
2. It took a while to finally order our food.
3. I ordered a filet and substituted the mashed potatoes for Mac and cheese, however mentioned that I would still have the green beans it usually comes with. Somehow that translated into a shareable side of green beans (delivered 15 minutes after the rest of our food).
4. Ambiance wasn’t exactly what I expected. Not as formal as some of the other steakhouses I’ve been to (no table linens, etc.).
Other than the green beans that had no flavor, the food was great.
Excellent food and service. Will definitely go back.
Had the ribeye and while I appreciate a well marbled steak, there was more fat than I expected. Wound up cutting a sizable portion of pure fat away and left it.
Wife’s salmon was very tasty but portion seemed small.
Service people were polite and handled my wife’s request for fruit with the brie appetizer, but it was a good thing we weren’t in a rush.
The staff was new and unorganized and my old fashioned was basically a cup of ice, but the food was great and it’s a really well done spot. Dry aged strip for like $40 and comes with a shareable portion of a side, great value in my opinion.
The only issue is it was so hot in there! Otherwise, amazing!
Service, location, decor, and ambiance was great, however, food (main dishes) was not good at all. We ordered their signature ribeye and it was rubbery. We also ordered the guest favorite seafood dish and it was too salty. The appetizers and sides were delicious though. Their main dishes should be the highlight of the restaurant, but unfortunately that’s not the case. We’ve been to this restaurant twice already and the situation has been the same. If we go back again, we will avoid main dishes and see if their burgers and other non featured items are better. It’s a shame that the only steakhouse in Royal Oak is this place since we live in the area. We’ll have to go elsewhere like Birmingham or Detroit if we want decent steak. Just to note, we’ve experienced our share of going to other steakhouses with similar price range and this place is just not up to par to other places that are even what I’d consider average. To reiterate, the service was amazing, the ambience was nice, and the restaurant is beautiful, but the main dishes needs improvement.
The steaks were subpar. When you go to a steak house you'd think the steaks would be the food that shines. No, our ribeyes were boring and low on taste. The sides were wonderful so that at least made up for it. Overall, go somewhere else for great steak.
Overall, I enjoy everything. I will most definitely be becoming back.
Sat us in the worst Table in the place. So many tables they could of put us at. My food was cold, I sent it back to the kitchen, they brought it back cold again. I gave up - Menu items were overpriced. Being overpriced would not be an issue if the service was great but it wasn't. Waitress just didn't seem to care at all.
The lobster tails were excellent. Tender. The Brussels sprouts also wonderful. Ribeye was good but a little chewy. Great service and management checked with us more than once to make sure we were satisfied.
Food was perfection. Wait time for service even with a reservation was a bit odd, & at first it took awhile to get drinks but the food & birthday cake made it all worth it.
Our first experience here was met with mixed review. While our waitperson was attentive and friendly, she appeared to be inexperienced for this type of establishment. Our mussels appetizer was bountiful and good. Our main coarse of Filet and Dry Aged NY Strip, didn't come out as ordered. The Filet was perfect, but the $44.95 dry aged NY was over cooked and sent back. The correct temped NY was returned by a Manager, and done perfectly. A complimentary glass of wine was accepted. As always the problem here is, one diner is finished before the other is corrected, making the experience less appealing. I guess we could have sent both back, but didn't think of it at the time.
So, we'll chalk this up to the place being relatively new, and getting things running smoothly. We will definitely try it again!
Great Food, Fabulous Cocktails (The Bubbles & Berries and Life Is Beautiful are delicious!). The server seemed a little rushed and not very friendly at first, but she came around at the end and was great. I highly recommend, especially for a date night or special dinner.
We were excited to celebrate my husband's birthday at Diamonds Royal Oak. The food was fantastic and the service was great. A bit noisy, but it eventually settled down.
Went for my birthday dinner with 20 guests and all of us were completely satisfied with the food and staff. Corrections were made immediately and I felt I picked the perfect place to celebrate another year of life. This was my first time going and I will definitely be a returning customer
It was Mother's Day and very busy.
We waited over an hour to get our food and the sides were wrong because they had run out of items and did not inform us.
People near us had multiple wrong orders and one table waited over an hour and a half.
The managers were very gracious and tried to be helpful.
The waitress was clearly overworked and stressed but tried her best.
I went here for Mother's Day and it was an amazing time. The service was slow extremely slow, however, my family and I still managed to have a good time. Due to the slow service the manager came by to let us know that our meal was on the house. I thought that was GREAT. It showed alot about their restaurant and their hospitality. I will definitely go back for food and drinks
From start to finish a bad experience. I was told “check back every 10 mins” by the useless host. 20,30, 45 minutes after our reservation nothing was available despite being told we were next.
The female hostess apologized and promised to ‘make it worth my while’ but not a single discount or return to our table. The steaks were mediocre and they ran out of mashed potatoes. Really?? I’ve had better at Applebee’s.
Go to Mr. Paul’s for a good local steak house. This diamond is a fake.
And now I see someone got a free dinner for Mother’s Day due to slow service. All I got was a $300 bill. No thank you!
Food took two hours. Was cold and terrible. Service very slow. Not a great experience for Mothers Day dinner
Our server was very friendly but that did not make up for the food. Subpar at best. The bar area is large do it may be a good place to go for happy hour but would not dine in again.
I was very disappointed in the food. My food came out cold. The food came out cold for the entire table.
Great dining experience! Excellent food and service; absolutely loved the drink Berries & Bubbles!
The steak was hard. Waitress and ambience was nice.
This was for our anniversary dinner with our 2 adult children. Although the food was very good and a good value (compared to a more exclusive steakhouse), I was somewhat disappointed in the ambiance for a “milestone” type of dinner. Perfectly fine for a nice dinner out, but maybe not for a special occasion where you’re looking for something truly exceptional. Also there was a lot of street noise that came into the dining room from motorcycles and cars with loud exhausts from the nearby intersection, since it was nice weather and they opened the doors and windows facing the street.
Ordered a bottle of wine by the vineyard Camus. Was not a Camus wine. The winemaker was a family member. When brought this to the attention of the manager was disappointed in his response. While the wine was good it was not from the Camus vineyard.
Excellent service from the time I walked in. Delicious food and drinks. The dinner arrived at the table and tasted very good. The carrot cake is exceptional. I was very pleased with everything.
Amazing service. Everyone was very attentive. The drinks were a little too sour but overall I would give it a A experience.
This was our first time at Diamonds Steak & Seafood. We were celebrating our anniversary and they made it very special. We both had steak and it was excellent. The smashed potatoes were also great! We will definitely be back!
Things began a little slowly. I believe our waiter was new to the restaurant but, after we received our drinks and ordered our food, things went well.
We would return.
Made a reservation for my boyfriend's birthday and they sat us at a tiny table for 2. Hostess did move us when asked to a 4 top. He got the ribeye medium but looked rare. Food was good but I was expecting better.
My wife and I truly enjoyed the tomahawk for two... this is a quality steakhouse.
Wonderful place, Had my friends birthday there and she loved it. I would definitely go back
A mixed vibe of hipster (royal oak culture) with high end restaurant. It was good food(nice selection), polite staff, good ambience, & we didnt have to talk in hushed tones.
We used Open Table for our family dinner of five reservation and the super sweet hostess greeted us and promptly gave us our table. Overall, we won’t be returning. We are avid Town Tavern people (local dinner spot in RO) but we wanted to give this cute new place a try. Service was subpar and food was even worse. I’d suggest one of the many great alternatives Royal Oak has to offer!
Food, drinks, dessert, and service (Susanne was exceptional) were great! Our one recommendation, is fix the French Onion soup. It was pretty bland, no sherry flavor.
Great food. Awesome service! Went for my boyfriends birthday and everything was great. We both got steaks with sides and everything was cooked perfectly.
The food and service was awesome! We will be back.
We have been to Diamonds 3 times since their opening and have never been disappointed.
