Dia de Campo
Día de Campo owners Chef Tin Vuong and Jed Sanford’s vision for a Mexican and seafood restaurant set in the South Bay of Los Angeles. Located in Hermosa Beach, just a block off the sand and strand, Día de Campo is a modern surf lodge, of sorts, catering to those who want to disconnect, leave the day behind and gather with friends and strangers over flavorful food and drinks. The menu has Chef Tin paying homage to the array of Mexican and Latino food he’s enjoyed growing up in LA, mostly coming out of cocinas east of the LA River, while also taking inspiration from the fish houses, oyster bars and surf shacks along the coasts of California, Mexico, Hawaii and wherever the Pacific meets the sand.

Birthday, it was nice
We had a great time!! Good food and great service
Staff was attentive and nice. Food was good. Enjoyed the brunch.
Loved the food and the ambiance!!
Service was the worst part. Took over 30 minutes for a waiter to actually show up to our table the first time. Food was ok but somewhat bland. Don’t think I will return.
The host with whom we tried to check in with was minutes whilst we stood right in front of her. There didn't appear be any acknowledgement of us or effort to get someone else to help us. We began to show irritation to each other loudly. she just moved away, leaving us to nd there for another 5 minutes at an empty host station.
After that, food was mediocre.
Amazing food, love the vibe in there too. Can’t wait to go back
Food is always great and service is typically amazing. Although this night I felt outlet server had ADD and just lost track of our table over and over again. I had to ask for 2 additional water cups multiple times (took 30 mins), extra water multiple times, and out of three drinks they never got it right once. I order a spicy margarita- I received a mango margarita, then a spicy mango, and then a spicy passion fruit…. Lol
Just not what service should be.
Great service, food, and music
Our server was amazing! The weekend HH was all-time. You rarely see a weekend HH.
Heavenly all around
Our dining experience was amazing! Definitely recommend the bottomless mimosas!
Food was great but service was very poor. Unfortunately went for Mothers Day and had to be chasing servers and remind them of what I was missing or ordered. Not the best impression for mother who had never been there.
We sat outside, it didn't seem that busy but maybe they had lots of diners indoors because the service was really terrible. Everything took a really long time - 3 of us were there for over 2 hours, and we ordered 1 dish and 1 drink each. All the dishes came out at very different times so we barely ate together. We ordered a side of tots, half of them were cold inside. Our waiter wasn't very nice or patient, and very unhelpful when we asked to make a substitution in one of the dishes.
Tents in the parking lot. Lovely view of in ugly grey wall. Asked for indoor seating for our Mom who’s in a wheelchair. They told us when we got there that inside was first come service.
We all ordered the grilled lobster brunch plate and they burnt all three lobsters. The drinks were weak.
Considering the prime location of this establishment, the food and service were absolutely atrocious. I have been to several modern Mexican restaurants and this did meet my expectations. The menu is very basic, the food ordered was tremendously bland as was its presentation. The servers also did not meet expectations, now it makes sense why this place was almost empty on a Saturday evening.
Reserved a table for inside but was placed outside due to “open table reservations being all over the place” according to the host. Waiter did not come to us for at least 15 mins after initially sitting down.
The food here is simply divine. Every time I try something new, I bite into and think, “Oh my god, this is really good!” It is take your breath away yummy.
Great place. Really enjoyed it.
Nice place food tasty. Appetizers were very tasty. Try the chips and salsa negra, the chicharrones, and mulitas.... these were my favorite.
1st time to this mexican restaurant close to the Hermosa pier. Food and margaritas were gr8! Service started slow, but the manager rallied for us! We'll be back!
We were looking for a nice brunch spot. The food was great and they also had mimosas :)
The service was very slow and the food was bad and expensive. The drinks were weak and overpriced. Very disappointed
We did the travelzoo voucher with $50 food credit and 2 all you can drink mimosas for $39. It was a great deal. The food was great and who can really say no to unlimited mimosas. We ordered the cactus salad, mixto ceviche, with hangar steak & eggs. Everything was yummy!
Great spot for a brunch on a nice day. Lots of outdoors seating, but also very safe for the pandemic. Food was fantastic - I definitely recommend the ceviche.
I love Mexican food but really struggled with this menu. I ended up with a few mediocre tacos - I tried a variety (Carne Asade, Shrimp, and Mahi). There were no real options for kids so I ended up ordered a chicken quesadilla for my 2 year old, which was extremely greasy. The redeeming quality was a good weekend happy hour and tasty margarita. So while, I might go back for drinks, I will go elsewhere for dinner after.
Very satisfied customer, excelled with Customer service
Our host Hannah and our waiter are both excellent in what they do. Brunch celebration was success because of them.
Such a fun restaurant! Amazing food, atmosphere and staff!
Food is always excellent. Service could be much better. However, the manager is great and she’s super helpful.
One of my favs! I love this restaurant. The food and service is excellent. And our server went above and beyond to ensure our party was happy. Fantastic cocktails too!
Best service ever!!!!!
Delicious food, great happy hour
Love this place! Never disappointed
If you want great food, a great drink selection, and great service at affordable prices. This is the spot!
Been here before and loved it! This time we got forgotten about twice! Others that got in after got served first and nothing was comped for our wait(approx 1/2 hr and parking is metered!)! We got virgin drinks that turned our stomachs sour as well. Will not be coming back!
