Di Mauro's Restaurant and Bar
Over 10 years ago, Mauro came to Miami from Padova, Italy with a family history of Italian culinary knowledge. Having worked for years in upscale restaurants located in Italy and London, and after opening an Italian restaurant for someone else, walking one day in the corner of 15th & Washington Ave., Mauro realized his opportunity. He opened his own cafe / restaurant. For more than 9 years, he has been successful where key ingredients are quality, quantity, and his Italian personality.
While Mauro has traveled and discovered new tastes around the world, his passion is in serving authentic Italian comfort food. We look forward to providing you with a memorable dining experience.
incredible food and service! Highly recommend
😋 food nice clean restaurant great customer service
Mom and pop place that was delicious owner was there greeting everyone highly recommend
Worst restaurant, worst service, and WORST BUSINESS ETHIC: SNATCH-A-QUICK-BUCK-FROM-CUSTOMERS-DESPITE-A-TERRIBLE-EXPERIENCE!! GROSSED BY HOW THEY HANDLED OUR FOOD LIKE…DIRTY CLOTHES!!
We ordered breaded chicken breast for our 5 year son. We were crystal clear that it had to be just that: breaded chicken with NO SAUCES. She brings it with some sauce. We complained, she takes it back to the kitchen and brings it back to us right away…. washed out!! All soggy!! What an insult. They refused to do it from scratch as any decent restaurant would do. A $2 (cost to them) for a chicken breast was too much to spend on customer satisfaction, especially after THEY messed it up, not us.
We told her we were leaving, and they rushed the other dishes to the table so we would have to pay for them. The brave manager didn't show up even though I requested to speak with him. WE HAD TO PAY FOR ALL THE FOOD, WHICH WE DIDNT EVEN TOUCH (OUT OF DISGUST). They even dared to charge me a 20% service tip. I refused to pay for the worst service ever. Unbelievable, surreal negative experience.
Fabulous restaurant in the heart of South Beach! Authentic northern Italian cuisine made with the utmost care and creativity. Finished meal with a deconstructed tiramisu made at the table! Owner greeted everytable personally! 10 Stars!
I really love the atmosphere! Especially love the tiramisu experience!
Very delicious and takes you off of south beach which was perfect.
This is without question the best meal you can get on South Beach .
We visit South Beach 4 x per year and our last visit in May we found this restaurant and when we were there in July we had to go back. This is becoming one of my favorites. The Risotto is amazing!!
Definitely a must to visit if you love good Italian food.
Amazing good and service! Delicious homemade pasta!
This restaurant was amazing!!!
Sat outside which was nice, but there's a lot of traffic and goings at that corner. If you want quiet and romantic, better sit inside. That aside, the food was excellent, the service outstanding, start to finish. No problems with our booking as others have experienced. We are locals and it was nice to 'find' something new for us even though its been around for ten+ years. I was very pleasantly surprised.....not a typical tourist trap as most of the places down there could be.......
May have been an off night.
Service was very good, food did not impress.
Great atmosphere, service and food! I would highly recommend this restaurant!
The food is good . I would back again.
The ambiente is nice casual.
The food and service were fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Overall good experience and good food. My only comments relates to the table side tiramisu. It was not worth $9 for sure. The lady fingers were hard, the espresso was cold (it sat for over 5 minutes before the waitress picked it up), the Marscapone was
cold. Not at all what I expected. We told the waitress that tiramisu was not good and we didn’t eat it. She didn’t offer to bring a different desert or to take it off the bill. Probably because it was HER fault that the desert was ruined. It’s on her. We ordered the desert in the past and it was excellent; maybe because the waiter paid attention to what he was doing and wasn’t running all over the restaurant.
this was horrible! open table, you need to remove this restaurant. they absolutely do not honor reservations. the waiters were beyond rude. they closed the whole dining room for a celebrity, never informing any of their reservations, when they finally agreed to sit us, they told us the food was going to take an hour and throw the menus on the table. the waiters were rude and unprofessional. walk down to the next italian restaurant called pane & vino. all in all believe the previous reviews talking about them not honoring reservations because there’s a chance they could f you too.
We are from Manhattan and this is one of the best Italian restaurants in the US
This place was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. The pasta is fresh, they serve bread before dinner. The staff is very attentive to your needs. Manuel was our waiter and he was the best. He refilled drinks before we needed it and let us do a wine taste to see which one we liked the best. Absolutely recommend if you are coming to Miami and want a nice dinner. We sat outside at a cute little table and watched everything going on on the street while enjoying our meal. 5 stars for this restaurant.
A uniquely excellent dining experience in South Beach. At the corner of 15th and Washington with sidewalk tables and beautiful interior decor and ambiance. Clientele is classy casual and respectful. Friendly attentive service and outstanding authentic Italian cuisine. I lived in Italy and rarely eat at Italian restaurants outside of Italy because they are rarely authentic or very good. At Mauro’s I felt like I was in Italy in every way. I loved my first dinner there so much that I returned the following night. The family next to me did the same thing. I highly recommend the Spinach salad with sautéed mushrooms, onions and goat cheese and the Seafood Paccheri pasta and chef’s Cacio e Pepe pasta. The warm sourdough bread is outstanding too. Easily one of the best restaurants in South Beach and a good value too. My new go-to. Jessica and Nicolas were excellent servers. Reservations recommended as it fills up and they don’t rush you out to turn the tables.
Service was spectacular! Our waitress Danelle made sure we had a memorable dinner. Food was excellent and we would definitely recommend.
Only good thing about this place is the service. The waitress was AMAZING and so kind. Food was not special at all.
went with a few friends. Wine was wonderful, food was even better. So many choices everything cooked fresh and to perfection. Would 100% go again
Danielle’s service was outstanding!
Would love to see you get Cannolis on the menu.
Always great service and excellent food.
If it was the first time I wouldn't write but on Saturday night our reservation for 8:30 was NOT honored with a statement about a system error. The first time we reserved the restaurant they were not open even though our reservation was accepted. Can't try again - they do not have proper management.
Table was not ready for us and we had to wait 20 mins to even be offered a drink after waiting to sit.
DO NOT EAT HERE! 0 stars! I made a reservation on open table and arrived at the Restaurant on time for them to tell me that they couldn't honor the reservation and the waiters were too busy. I told them I had a confirmed reservation and the hostess just shrugged and said there was nothing she could do. They seated a walk up table before us. So on a Saturday night at 8 pm we were stuck with nowhere to eat and it was my daughter's birthday. They made 0 effort and were rude. Open Table I would remove this restaurant from your listings! Do not book here and get scammed like we did.
They were running a bit behind so our reservation was late being seated. With that said they allowed us to sit in a quaint lounge area. They took excellent care of us a a team. My husband had the spaghetti and meatball he loved them! I had the Cacio de Pepe. That was supposed to be served table side out of a cheese wheel. I was looking forward to that to watch. It didn’t happen they said they were to busy. The tomato bruschetta was really fresh and balanced flavors. We were too full to enjoy any dessert. All in all would go back!
We had a 7:00 reservation. When we arrived we were told there had been a problem on their end and they could not seat us for 30 minutes. The hostess was very nice and apologetic, and she did end up seating us within 10 minutes. The food was not very good. My fish was cold and tasteless. My daughters spaghetti with clam sauce was actually awful. The pasta was overcooked and rubbery, and the “sauce” had no taste at all. My husband had lamb chops that were tough and tasteless. The rest of the family, 3 others, had flatbreads that were just ok. The service was fine, and we ate outside on the sidewalk which was lovely. I would definitely not recommend this place if you are looking for good food.
The server seemed very clueless of the menu when we asked. Took about 10 minutes to get greeted after we sat. Food was mediocre
There is a really cool vibe to the place, but unfortunately both the food and service left a lot to be desired. Lamb chops and branzino are dishes that you shouldn't mess up. And the wait staff needs to at least know a little about the items on the menu and be attentive.
We had a reservation, and we were seated right away. We were immediately greeted by our server, who made some wonderful suggestions on wine. He also explained some of the dishes on the menu, and we selected our choices. Warm bread was brought to the table promptly while we enjoyed conversation. We did find it hard to hear each other because the music was so very loud. We asked server to turn it down, and he said he would. But sadly, the loud music made it difficult to carry on a conversation without yelling.
Our appetizer of fried calamari was served, and it was delicious! So light and tender, and there were also shrimp and zucchini on the generous platter. The red sauce that accompanied the appetizer held just the right amount of spice.
For dinner, I chose the truffle pasta with porcini mushrooms. My friends chose the Bucatini Cacio and Pepe Parmigiano, and the Pappardelle with Tuscan Ragu. All of us enjoyed our meals thoroughly!
Excellent food and excellent service!! We sat outside so it was a little noisy but fun to people watch. Server was incredibly attentive and pasta was fresh and very good. I’d go here again.
Good service good food
We had the most amazing meal here!! Our waiter prepared my pasta dish in a Parmesan wheel at the table side!! It was a great show and something ive never seen before! Then he made tiramisu from scratch at the table side! Awesome place and ill 100% go back next time in Miami
Fabulous place, food and service. Please keep it going forever!
Great menu and service. Its a great people watching venue as well. Can sit at the bar or a table (we got a great window).
Great food, nice owners and staff . New bartender needed a little more practice we will
