Please remove this from open table as this restaurant is no longer open. It’s been closed now for over a month. Wasted my time.
We made our reservation on OpenTable. However, we arrived at the restaurant only to find that it is no longer open.
It's not even open. I made a reservation and it appears the restaurant is not in business. Even the provided phone number is disconnected.
Made a reservation, but when I showed up, the place was closed. Please update your reservation times/policy.
The restaurant is closed although open table took my reservation! Got there and doors locked. Bad experience since we had no where to eat and on a Saturday night at that time it was a real problem finding somewhere lease!
They weren’t open
No staff owner letting place fail
Matt Shenk and his band were great.
The kitchen was out of several key items on their menu, both pasta and chicken. Not impressed.
In short, we were surprised about the experience. I'd suggest checking with the restaurant before you go about the band/schedule etc. for the night. In person, this spot came off as mostly a music club with food and drink options which seem decent on paper. Service was friendly. If you go around an early-ish dinner hour like we did you might be there for an extended sound check by a band playing later that night-- Not great unless you like that sort of thing or used to be a roadie. I think if it was later and the band was actually playing music --the experience would have been better. Friends had been there later at night and enjoyed the bands but didn't eat or just had appetizers --which is probably their sweet spot?
The food and service were fantastic. We knew they had live music but didn't realize how loud it would be - if we return it would be when there wasn't entertainment.
Wine choice was very impressive. I probably did not read the chicken piccata description well enough. I was a bit disappointed it had a brown gravy as I was expecting a white wine butter sauce. The restaurant was not busy at 6:30 or so which is one of the ironies of many restaurants that the service is slow when a restaurant is actually slow. I find service better when a place is busy. Had to actually flag down the hostess and our waitress several times. They looked bored. LOL. The solo guitarist was enjoyable and the ambiance was loud but what would be expected and not intrusive. Had a great chat with an old friend. Would recommend. Menu changes regularly and seasonally which is impressive and commendable. This is the 3rd incarnation of Dexters as I recall the original on Fairbanks then their move to Hannibal Square and now to Ravendauge. All very well orchestrated.
I was there with my family from out of town. We enjoyed the service, food, and entertainment. They look forward to coming back on their next visit to Florida
Went to Dexters New Standard last night for dinner and to listen to one of my favorite local bands. I have been disappointed by the food every time I’ve gone there except one time. The first time that I went there after they moved to the new location, I ordered the hamburger. The patty was the size of a slider and put on a regular sized bun. It was the most ridiculous variation in size I had ever seen for a burger. I asked for lettuce and tomato on it and the server told me that they didn’t have lettuce or tomato….in the entire kitchen…..and that the burger comes as is and the chef doesn’t allow changes to the burger. On another experience, I ordered the wings, asked for ranch dressing and the server says that they don’t have ranch…..in the entire kitchen… and that they only serve it with blue cheese dressing. I would venture to say that ranch dressing is probably more popular than blue cheese. How can they not offer both? Now getting back to my experience last night. 3 people in my party ordered chicken piccata and this is what they served us. Chicken in marsala sauce with capers in it. There was absolutely not a even a hint of lemon in the sauce. There was no butter, no wine, and it was dark brown like marsala (which they had on the menu). I knew it had to be a mistake. The server told me that “the chef said this is chicken piccata”. I asked the server if I could speak to the manager and he never came by. I can’t believe any chef would try to pass off marsala sauce as piccata sauce just by adding capers in it. If not for the live music there, I would never step foot in that place.
thanks for the memories, but the music gotta go. HARRY POTTER IS DEAD HA HA HAAA
We were seated at 7pm, didn’t get food until 8:10. And, it wasn’t that crowded. Our server said being short-staffed was the reason.
We asked about possibly complementary drinks and she indicated she would ask her manager. Didn’t seem to happen.
She tried to be nice, and wasn’t her fault…..kitchen was so slow.
Cuban Sandwich was not great.
Far departure from the original Dexter’s in Winter Park. Loud, foul mouth drunk at the bar, that the bartender kept serving even after several patrons complained. Music too loud to even think let alone carry on a conversation. Food way less than average and cold by time it got to us. We came away agreeing to never go back- absolutely no redeeming aspect to this restaurant.
Birthday. Good but loud and no mimosas.
Food was great, we really enjoyed the experience. The scenery was beautiful we’ll definitely be back.
We made a rsvp for 1130 got there on time sat for two hours ! Got our appetizer at 1 after getting the manager involved because the waiter avoided the table. We knew it was a busy day and could tell they were short staffed but that was unacceptable. We didn’t get to eat and just got frustrated and left @130 because the waiter said I food order was two spots behind 🤦🏽♀️
Rhythm and Brunch event was fantastic! Perfect venue, great food and service, music was on point and it was a fun day!
Not sure what was going on, maybe understaffed due to the pandemic. We had to wait to be welcomed by the hostess as no one was at the stand when we arrived. It was awkward just standing waiting to be acknowledged. Once we were seated we were told that they were out of menus but that some would be brought to us as more were being printed. Water was delivered in disposable plastic cups. We waited for 1 hour 45 minutes for our food to arrive. In the meantime, we did not even have place settings or napkins. No bread was offered or any explanation for the wait.
There was a nice covered terrace outside that made the unreasonably long wait time for food much more tolerable. Food was very good but it was over one hour for our order to come out. Waitress came at least 4 times to apologize
And explained that they only had five people in the back helping to make and prepare food. I guess a byproduct of Covid and difficulty hiring.
So so food and service. Band was good.
The atmosphere was nice with the live band playing. At times it was a little loud and doesn't make for an environment to have conversation.
The food was edible but mediocre. I had such high hopes and was let down.
The food was good and the live band was great!
Food took over an hour to come out and then it wasn't very good. Felt like it was rushed.
We had seriously good food. Very slow selective in a restaurant with 4 tables total. The food came out quickly. When I wanted another refreshment with my dinner - I could not order one.
For appetizer we had the crispy Brussel sprouts and cauliflower- amazing. For dinner I had the strip steak with wine sauce - terrific. But by then we were tired of waiting for our server so we ordered the check with no dessert.
Me and my guest both agreed the mixed drinks were way too sweet. (Me a smoked gin thing and my guest a spiced margarita). Like syrup. I would not recommend those.
I might try it again - not sure.
Went to dinner early on a Wednesday. Staff was pleasant. The New Standard burger
was delicious and fries were very tasty.
I as not too impressed. Limited menu and mediocre service.
It would have been great if there was no live band performance. It was way too loud! You can have the 10 pm band but let your customers enjoy their dinner quality so they can have a conversation. The money you save from the band you can invest in improving your food. Wine list is insufficient.
Hamburger tasted tart, steak was tough as hell, waitress was slow and kept forgetting everything
There was a live band there which is nice but Extremely LOUD i mean I could nor hear anyone in my party. I asked to be moved outside but it was still very loud. I eat quite often and this the loudest dinner entertainment I’ve experienced.
The food was average but everything is pre-made
Tried to order a side of pasta for my chicken and was told everything is premixed. Service was average for this type of place and took long for everything. Overall average and more of a drinking environment then a nice dinner place.
It was a beautiful night, so we sat outside on the patio, and I’m so glad we did. Although the band sounded incredible, the music was way too loud. We could barely hear each other talk and left with headaches!
The food was great. The music was excellent, just a little loud . Service was 5 star. Great lunch experience
The food and music were great!
The food was good not great. Prices were high for the quality of food. Service was good but the kitchen was really slow. I loved the outdoor seating area. I’m not sure that I would go there again though.
We had a wonderful time; really good food; great service and a very enjoyable outdoor dining experience
We went to Dexter's about a week ago. They said only one Chef was working so the food may come out slow, which was fine. we appreciated the heads up. however, the wedge salads came out with no dressing, and only one had tomatoes on it, none had bacon. we had to wait for them to bring us salad dressing. the other salad that was a main course, came out with no dressing as well and missing some of the ingredients to the salad. The chicken marsala had a gel like consistency and was not good. The chicken sandwich and chicken wings were good. Our server was attentive and nice but too many misses on their part even with slow service, which we would have understood the wait if the food was better than it was. and the restaurant was not busy. Not even half of occupancy. I emailed them a few days ago to provide feedback but never heard back from them.
took to long to get our food.
the menu is over priced and the options are not what we spectec
The place is beautiful and I will definitely return. I just have never had a server mess my orders as much in a while.
