As one of Sydney’s favourite brunch and lunch spots Devon runs on love, laughter with cups of strong coffee and good food. Weekend booking process needs review. One server great, others seem flurried and uninterested.

I had to change the reservation last minute due to a death in my family. The restaurant said they couldn't cancel my reservation because it was very last minute. They advised that I will be charged $20 per head if I am a no show by Open Table. I reached out to Open Table and they have advised it is up to the restaurant's policy. Either way, both sides are denying that they are the ones that are charging the fee. Eventually, the restaurant managed to changed my reservation. This is for sure something I don't need to deal with when I am trying to make arrangements for a funeral. Also, is it lawful to charge $20 per head for a simple 8 person table reservation?! On the day of the reservation, my group was seated outside which I was not advised at the time of booking. The restaurant is situated in a very windy area and I specifically asked to be seated inside. I was told my group can't be accomodate inside as there is another reservation. Which is ridiculous as no one was seated at the "reserved" tables even after we left. I had an elderly lady with me who shouldn't be sitting outside in the cold. When we asked for the blanket the heat lamps, the that worked there rolled her eyes when handing us the blanket. However, that being said, our server was really great. I think he was the ONLY positive service we received. I definitely wouldn't have dined there if it wasn't for the ridiculous $20 charge per head.

It wasn't that busy, but our dishes were dropped onto our table without being asked which was who's dishes. Pretty poor attitude from the staff I must say. The breakfast with the Sakuma's was really good despite the subpar service, which let the whole experience down.
