We ordered a drink, but we were not compelled to order food. My drink was good, but not $14, over $18 with tax & tip…
brought friends for their 1st time, and they loved it. food and service was excellent. have been and will be back again. love the decor and location.
Both of our dishes were very good. We were a bit rushed to get to the symphony so it was hard to take it all in. Our server was helpful and timely at getting us out the door.
On vacation in Minneapolis and decided to try Devil's Advocate. We ordered the stuffed meatball and the Pepper pizza. Both were extremely delicious. The ambiance was nice -- great place for date night. The staff was super friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Good food but they didn't have everything on the menu. Were out of several sour beers. It was also VERY hot in the restaurant, on a very hot day.
Onsite menu didn't match the online menu.
First drink request, they were out of.
Very tiny tables, barely fit entree for two.
Service was relatively slow, but it seemed that the server maybe had some difficult tables away from us. The server that came to help out was very friendly. I am so bummed that they don’t have Mac n cheese anymore.
My meal was great, my wife’s was not...her wine had sediment, and the salad was fair. Overall service was ok, however, experience was a disappointment
Great food and service.
Delicious food - just know that the garden pasta isn't actually "pasta" - it's spiralized vegetables.
My first time there, lunch with business associates. While the staff was friendly and accommodating it took over an hour for our food; they were shorthanded and serving WAY too many people outside which required so much attention going in and out the very crowded entry with food while lines of people waiting to go in. Our food was ok, a bit disappointing in price vs value (too expensive for what we got) in our view
Not suitable for hang outs - drinks/eatery, seating uncomfortable, food overpriced good thing place is new
The ambience is very cool; contemporary, warm and approachable. Just like the waitstaff...we had a great waitress that helped us navigate the menu for the best dishes - and was spot on! EVERYTHING was amazing! The burrata board the house greens, pizza's, the giant meatball...you cannot go wrong! We will have this on our #1 restaurant picks for visitors - and for every other occasion!
Food was excellent, decent atmosphere and energy. Service was slow and inattentive.
9 people for lunch. Pizza was very good. Cubano was very good. Service was good and everything delivered as ordered. Meatball was in need of a bit more flavor but quality was there.
Good selection of beer.
Thought some of the portions were small like the skillet lasagna. It was also burnt on the edges.
The bone marrow not hot enough and dripped juice onto the table as it was served on a wooden board with no sides.
The pizza was excellent.
I thought there could have been a bigger menu selection.
First time at new location and won’t be the last! Both the Minnesota Grain bowl and the Garden Pasta were beautifully presented and equally delicious! Top notch service and very pleasant atmosphere.
Our Brunch was Fantastic! Good friends are moving to the East Coast, so this was our farewell send-off. The food, drinks, service and the atmosphere was top-notch and a great value. This was our 5th visit in as many months. This is a true gem and great addition to the downtown scene.
We live in the neighborhood so have been to Devil's Advocate's prior location. The ambiance at the restaurant on Nicollet Mall and 12th Street is WAY better. I love the fire jets and hope they operate all year round. The food was very good and the service was excellent. It's one of our new favorite neighborhood restaurants.
Very cool spot, pizza wasn’t great. The set up there is neat.
Unfortunately we went on a night that the restaurant underestimated the crowd. It was the Twins opener and the Dessa concert was across the street. The restaurant admitted that it was understaffed. Water glasses were not refilled, the waiter admitted that he forgot to put in my order for a glass of wine and service was generally uneven. The food, however, was very good. The giant stuffed meatball was nestled in a pool of wonderful sauce. The romanesco was cooked perfectly and the lemon caper parmesan topic was great. I plan to go back sometime when there are not multiple events downtown.
Dined at Devil's Advocate Minneapolis this week twice. Stopped in for a late lunch and liked it so much we booked for the next night. Loved the farm to table philosophy and the veggie alternative menu. I had the veggie pasta which was delicious and beautiful! My companions had salads and sandwiches which they all enjoyed. We shared Minnesota wild mushrooms as an app with fresh bread. Good wine selection too! Would recommend for a fun evening out!
Inattentive server. Burger fantastic.
This was our first visit, for a friend’s birthday. Our new favorite restaurant!
This is a fantastic venue, with spot-on attention to details. Inventive menu, eclectic decor. Staff anticipated our every need!
Bloody Mary drinks are awesome! Lobster Benedict is champ!
I wish prices are reasonable... Just saying.
Great food. Great service. Nice atmosphere.
Will definitely be back! Food was amazing! Service was as well!
We had a great meal, good options and prices were good for downtown. Would definitely go back.
Did not enjoy eating dinner at small round cocktail tables of which there a many in the dining area. I would not dine there again if only cocktail tables are available. Two in our party of three had different pasta dishes that were gummy with little flavor. On a previous day we had a very positive happy hour experience. We hope things will improve and will try again.
Great environment. Service was friendly yet real. Great food. Reasonable prices. Excited for the big Bloody Mary in February.
The food was very good except the lobster cakes were definitely not worth the money. You got 4 quarter size bites for 3.50 a piece. The rest was excellent. Service was bad, took 20 min to get drinks, waitress never came back after we paid so we moved to a new section for another drink. Waitress came over to clear the table next to us and totally ignored us. We went to Brits for our after dinner drink. Will give it another try in a few months after they have been open more than a month.
For lunch, nice portions, nicely presented. Service was a bit too overwhelming, but forgivable.
Obviously, this venue is still getting their menu together. Please note that we loved the old menu and location from past years. We ordered pasta dishes on our first visit which were returned because they were very poor quality. The service and beverages were otherwise good. We won’t return anytime soon.
Had lunch there—great food! Southwest salad was delicious, and my friends had the Bahn Mi and Chicken Sandwich—likes them both. Glad they are back!
Fun, trendy ambiance. The menu has quirky options not found at other restaurants we have been to. The pizzas wete delicious! Tjey had only been open one week, and the service was slow and disjointed - but they will work that out. We hope to return.
Group of 8 on Friday night. The service was a little slow but all our food came out together. It was delicious!
Went on first day, so hard to tell what this new location will be. The decor was not at all expected - way fancier. Food was worth a second trip, but super salty.
