Was a great place for dinner food was excellent service was great will definitely be back !!
The food was delicious, overpriced and took forever. Thankfully my husband and I went without our kids. It was an hour before our entrees were served and the restaurant was not full when we arrived. The waitress was kind but messed up both of our side orders. She also took our order and then came back 5-10 min later and asked us if we were ready to order. I won’t return.
Amazing place. Great food and drinks
Atmosphere is lovely
The service was painfully slow. 2 1/2 hours for three people to have dinner.
The bus boys did not help the waitresses clear tables unless they were told.
Once it stated to get near closing time they were rushing to clean up the tables. ( very obvious)
My water glass was filthy and had to has for another. The bread plate was also dirty and greasy.
The food was good but they really need to fix these issues.
Love this new local gem for the community. Great atmosphere and vibe for just drinks or for dinner. The only close to home place that has it all,
Great food and even better service. It seemed a little on the pricey side, but overall likely worth the money. Very enjoyable evening out.
Went for my birthday on a Thursday during lent. My wife ordered the clam chowder and the barramundi. The clam chowder was excellent and the barramundi-unusual to find in this area was simply prepared and excellent. I ordered the lobster bisque and the swordfish. The bisque was rich and fabulous, but the swordfish was without a doubt, the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked with an undescribably delicious sauce. Large portion and the risotto that came with it was perfect as well. We split a key lime pie for dessert which was excellent. Service was top notch with a very relaxed pace. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return.
Thursday night. Not very crowded so nice and quiet. Good food and good service.
We started with Calamari to share , and it was delicious. The lobster bisque was wonderful too. I got the white fish as my entrée and that was delicious as well . Our waitress was friendly, fun and professional, and a special touch was her bringing hot towels and lemon for our hands at the end of our meal! I will definitely be back.
The food and service were both excellent. Our waiter was a fine gentleman that was knowledgeable about both the food and wine. He made the experience quite pleasant.
Food was very good, but the service was very uncoordinated. We had a table for 4 in the high top area. As we sat down and got our menus and some waters, in the same time three other tables cashed out and had already sat the other tables, got them menus water, appetizers and drinks. Meanwhile we sat with water for 20 minutes. The other here tables were done in an hour, but we were there almost 2 as we waited for lengthy times for soup/salads, and then for entrees. The soups were given out in wrong order and two of the entrees had reversed the sides and had to put up a bit of an argument to get replacements. Then the bill took another lengthy time.
Overall, the food is great. high tables better than low as the noise and atmosphere was a little better. But need to work on consistent service.
The food was very good Kathy was very attentive to all of our needs. She was one of the best waitresses I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
Overpriced more than anything, 6 of us there, 3 of us liked their meals, all thought it was priced over competition.
Service was horrible. It took 3 hours for 4 o us to have appetizers...dinner and drinks
We have been to the Detroit Fish House a few times now and have always had great food and service. Awesome place!
Great food. Waiter "Paul" is the best. He made you very happy and gave you 150% of him. Atmosphere
Was great. Tables close but clientele
Couldn't of been better. Thank you for giving my son a wonderful birthday dinner.
Food was deliscious, service was great. We’ve been twice now and plan to go back a again and again. It’s expensive, but it was worth it.
Good waitress but kitchen was slow and not very energetic. For instance we were told that the bread had been sitting for awhile so our waitress wanted to bring us fresh bread but said she had a hard time getting the kitchen to do that, and there were only 5 tables filled at the time in the whole place. Food WAS good though. My husband had the Tomahawk pork chop and he said it was great. I had ahi tuna and it was good.
Exceptional service, exquisite food. I had mentioned that two of my guests were celebrating their birthdays and the server brought 2 complimentary desserts that I had not asked for. Really professional ambiance! Highly recommend dining at the Detroit Fish House.
Food was amazing as usual but the service was second to none
Was not worth the $400 bill we received at the end.
I felt that the timing for the food was slow.
Almost 2 hours for 2 people for dinner was I felt was too long.
The food and the waitress was very good..
First, the seating is a mess. The tables are way too close to one another. Wait staff as well as customers cannot walk in or out or to a rest room without bumping into seated customers. Second, there is not enough wait staff. Our waitress had at least one other table with 10 people seated and was clearly overwhelmed. We were seated promptly and served drinks promptly and then waited excruciatingly long to put in our order and then waited excruciatingly long for our food to arrive. Third, while the food was prepared satisfactorily, there was nothing spectacular about it except that it was plated nicely. The chicken rice soup was so-so; I didn't care to finish my cup. The oysters Rockefeller were served warm, not hot; they probably sat on the warming shelf too long, but they were tasty. They did have a fair selection of different fish for different tastes. If I go back, I think that I will try that pork chop on the menu. Fourth, the noise level was pretty loud; it was hard to hear someone talking to me that was seated across the table without having to lean in. If you go, plan on spending a long time to get a meal. Incidentally, our waitress was cordial and kept the drinks coming with no problem.
We order oyster and they were nasty waitress agreed she took them back and did not charge us for them. Wont be coming back sorry
Our server Kathy was amazing. Very engaging and made awesome recommendations. Ask for her on your next visit, you wont regret it!
The food was pretty good and was very well paced. It is priced on the high side however.
Awesome food awesome service awesome awesome awesome
Was impressed on how even simple parts of the dinner were done with skill make me feel like I was eating from a chef not a cook
Great food and atmosphere. Can’t wait for the patio to open up!
This was our second time .... made a reservation on line which was very nice... wait staff was nice and helpful... food was very good but Very Over Priced !!!! Waited for 15 minutes for our first round of drinks .... I would have given you a 5 out of 5 but the good was over priced for what you get and waiting for 15 minutes for drinks is to long .... will come back but not too often due to pricing ....
One of our favorite places to dine . Our waitress was not as attentive as we are used to.
The Lobster Beignets were to die for. The lobster tails were perfectly cooked and the service was awesome
Valentine’s Day. The food was really good, Halfway through my meal , discovered there was a hair in my plate, I couldn’t finish my dinner. I did t bother to tell the server, even though my husband said I should. Wine menu is a little weak, not many choices if you want to order a glass.
We came here for Valentines Day. Been here a number of times. Service is always solid and food is very good. Ambiance is a bit lacking and the front end staff needs a lesson in working that area if you’re going to charge what they do.
Our first time here and it was fantastic. Our server, Anne Marie, was friendly but professional. She was cheerful and informative. Her timing was very good and made our dining experience very enjoyable. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and it was delicious. My wife had the shrimp trio and the chef swapped out grilled for fried without an issue. It was excellent particularly the scampi. I had the Scottish salmon and was very happy with my choice. The salmon was perfectly grilled and the baby bok choy was a perfect match. The asparagus cooked exactly like I like it. Let me say a word about the coleslaw, I am a coleslaw snob and this coleslaw was the bomb. Creamy but not overly so and with a kick. My wife got the bleu cheese crumbles with it for another layer of flavor. Finally, for dessert we had the key lime pie, the ubiquitous dessert that rarely lives up to its promise. DFH key lime is outtasight. Very light despite its custardy goodness. The micro-zest in the sauce really amps up the flavor. Overall an excellent meal and a very pleasant experience. We will return.
Excellent food and service!!!!
Excellent food and service. Lots of choices on menu and specials. Every course was tasty. Everything came out promptly
Having bad service ruins the entire experience/evening. Do you vet your servers? Cathy said she was new, but was alone. When she was around she explained everything very well, but she was rarely around. Before dinner drinks were slow, soup/salad delivery was slow too. Empty glasses for a long time, need other items too but gave up. Why isn't a manager present to oversee the dining area? Overall a bad experience for such an expensive meal. She was very nice, or we would have asked for the manager. Please manage the dining area!!
Even though it was a little pricey, the food was excellent! Our waitress was training another waitress while she took care of us so we weren't taken care of as I thought we should be. She was pleasant though! While we made the reservation online we were asked if we were celebrating anything & my husband checked off Birthday. No one asked or acknowledged the birthday whatsoever.
Overall the food was very good!
Food is good but too expensive for what you get. Quality is good.
