Detroit Fish House

Fish was bland. Steak was over-cooked. Each meal cost about $40 each but left me wishing I had just gone through a drive through for a fish sandwich and a burger. I would not go back.

Our waitress April was awesome, very friendly and efficient! The food was outstanding as always!! What a treat for our first dinner out due to Covid-19!

I always order the scallops. They are usually fantastic. This time they were not very good. They were not seared and looked like the we’re boiled. I was disappointed. The waiter told me they had changed a few things in the menu. So, I will not be ordering the scallops again.

Our server Chelsey, was ANAZING.. knowledgeable with the menu and drinks! Excellent service!

I had a 6 oz filet, my husband had lobster mac and cheese, My Birthday son and girlfriend had swordfish. We were all happy with the dinners and service. Extra nice was the birthday cookie and ice cream!

So happy to get back to the Fish House! We had the new Papa Bear pots, highly recommend!

My husband and I had reservation for 6:30 pm. We were greeted by the hostess and seated immediately. Our server was fantastic, did a great job with menu recommendations. My husband had the swordfish, and I had the Maine lobster tail, both were excellent. The server recommended the butternut squash risotto, it was great. We will be back for sure!

Very nice dining experience, Jenny, I think, did an excellent job. She let us know about the menu specials and was very attentive without being obtrusive.
Will return soon.

We enjoyed our time and our dinner however.... we were unable to take our coats off as we were seated near the front entrance on a chilly day. And the front waiting area was covered in leaves. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu.

Four of us went. Waiter very pleasant friendly attentive. One in group got perch...one got scallops one got steak...and I wanted whitefish and actually looked on menu before going.looking forward to the whitefish. Unfortunately they were out. Big disappointment..but I opted then for perch. Satisfied. It's very nice but wine by glass is so expensive it's ridiculously priced.

Food was overpriced and lacked flavor

We had reservations and the hostess was planning to sit us next to a couple already seated although there were several empty tables around. I asked to be seated elsewhere and she said she couldn't since every other table was also reserved. I asked again but she was insistent that she could not move us. I know this is not true so we ate in the bar.

Great atmosphere and service.

It was great food and service. Tables were a little close together and slightly loud for a more romantic date night ambience.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. Me and my husband thought we would out branch out normals and try something new. we walked in and was seated right away. It didn't take long for our server to come greet us and take our drink orders. I don't remember her name but, she was very helpful and gave us suggestions on what we may want to try based on what we liked. she came to check on us every little bit to see if we needed any refills or anything else. She was very nice and pleasant to have as our server. I did go out of my normal food choices and ordered the special of the day in which was delicious, sorry i do not remember the name of it. Although, the wait for our food took a little longer than exspected but, it was still good and a good temperature to be able to eat it. I think me and my husband will add this place to our list of choices to eat at.

When we walked in a customer at the bar looked over at us and said i will find someone. Then when we were seated plenty of empty tables we were seated by the music which was rather loud. We were not told of any specials which the other guests were told. After having appetizers ready to order main course we were told no perch, because there was a shortage this season. That is what we came for and if we knew that ahead of time we would of left. Now we ordered something we really didn't want. First visit and probably the last.

Expected our server to be more knowledgeable about the menu. We have some dietary restrictions that need to be worked around. Our server didn't know specifics about menu items and had to ask the kitchen/chef for clarity - which in and of itself was ok. But questions regarding desert that clearly didn't meet the dietary needs didn't need to be asked. Additionally, didn't feel that we should need to ask for a refill on iced tea or that we should sit w/ dirty appetizer/dinner plates as long as we did. Simply, I expected more.

Our first time in the restaurant. What a wonderful treat! The food is great enhanced by the service by Jenny, who was so informative and gave us ‘service with a smile’! We look forward to seeing you again!

Valentines weekend date nice setting good food n drinks

My boyfriend and I came here for the first time the day after Valentine’s Day. (Valentine’s day was too busy)

The service was good. We were a little irritated that it took so long to receive drinks, but they were busy so we understand. The part that tainted our experience was the fact that we had both ordered the same Filet cooked the same way (medium rare) and this is how they came. I did send mine back and it came out more cooked the second time. Thankfully our meal did get discounted so that was nice, but for the price I probably wouldn’t go back there for the steak.

Overall a very nice experience. Started a bit rough though. Had to wait 20 min for our reservation. Initially a party with small children (<5 yo) was next to us. A Saturday night dinner at 7 should not have to contend with someone else’s lack of good judgment. ( Get a BABYSITTER!). Once they cleared out we could enjoy our meal. Food quality and freshness was spot on. Service was attentive without suffocating our experience. A nice break from chain restaurants.

Great restaurant! Their food exceeds any of the well known, long established seafood restaurants in southeast Michigan. They have a real nice bourbon selection as well.

Belated Valentine’s Day dinner

We had been waiting to try this restaurant since they opened and were really excited to have dinner here. The service was good and our waiter was extremely attentive. The piano player was a nice break from elevator music that is usually piped in at other establishments and she was very good. However, the filet was fatty and the calamari was what we usually receive from a bar that is deep fried; very disappointing for the price. While we are glad we tried this establishment we will most likely find another restaurant in the area that is worth the price.

The wait staff were very nice and professional. The presentation of food was beautiful. The food was amazing! I would recommend making a reservation. This is definitely my new favorite restaurant!

Pretty poor service. Had to wait for 20 odd minutes despite having a reservation. The front desk stares at the computer while greeting ppl. Restaurant business isn’t for everyone.

April is amazing we will be back

My lunch was delicious and my waitress was the best- sweet, professional, knowledgeable and had a positive energy!
I’ll definitely return when I’m back in town.

The service was amazing!!! Jenny was our server and she went above and beyond by providing recommendations and just having a great personality. We loved the lobster beignets but craved just a bit more pesto. My fiancé ordered the twin lobster tails and I ordered the filet mignon. The filet was slightly overcooked based on the way I order but still had a great charbroiled flavor.

Awesome food and the service was even better. Robby was our waiter and was perfect. Cant wait to go back again !!! It was my moms 89th birthday, she loved the place !!!

Our meal was awesome. Our Host April was no professional and nice. She made us feel like guests in her home. She made excellent recommendations. It was our Anniversary and I wanted a special place. I was impressed and will return
