We had a great comfort food dinner, loved that portions were not too big so we could try different things, flavors were great, ambiance very relaxed, cozy, we will be back.
Had not been here in years. Really used to love this place. Lost its charm and food quality/flavor seemed to decrease.
Family event dinner! Love this place!
I would never recommend this place to anyone, service is very poor food was more or less in edible. I think maybe it’s a little bit more of a bar scene.
Excellent innovative original dishes. Delicious food and great service. Great ambiance. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Heavy traffic and very limited parking only downside. Must take MUNI next time!
Excellent service. Flan was delicious as were the empanadas and yucca nachos! We sat in a nice quiet corner of the bar.
Great dinner! Awesome staff!! A hundred percent recommended!
Great food! Very quiet..
We had an awesome time at Destino! Brought a big group (22 people) for a birthday celebration and Destino accommodated ya even though our reservation was for 16. Great value/food/drinks!
I’ll be back!
Always great food here and good service. Very consistent.
Always good food and great service. Would highly recommend any occasion here.
The food appears pre-made and not fresh or interesting. I would not recommend this restaurant to others.
Great service! And pretty good food.
Loved the food! Fav is lomo saltado and pork empanadas
I gave them a second chance thanks to the owner extending a gift certificate. The food was great! The Lechon is very tasty and everyone at the table wanted a bite.
We happened upon Destino on a Sunday evening and it will be a new go-to restaurant for us in the city. Every item we ordered from the small plates/tapas options was incredible. Full of flavor, clean finish and really perfectly done. We had THE BEST service from the bartender Aaron. The restaurant was slow and he basically served as our own personal mixologist. It was such a pleasant change to have a bartender who mixes so many different drinks with joy. The hostess was amazing too. We will be back!
the best peruvian!
Great food and service. My go to spot for Peruvian!
Great food and drinks
Really enjoyed it, but was a little pricey for what I got.
Great place and good food!!
The neighborhood restaurant featuring really good cocktails and food!!
A favorite in SF- a go-to spot for yummy latin cuisine....They are pretty good at consistency for their tapas and cocktails...good wine list too!
They don’t adjust food items everything is pre made. I’m allergic to quinoa and it was in majority of their foods so I could not try anything
The food is terrific! That said, the service was goofy...though probably not the server's fault. The place was less than half full and there were only 3 people at the bar, but it still it took 25 minutes to get our drinks. And then our courses came out very slowly and in random order. But each one was delectable and worth the wait. Be sure to try the antichucos and the quinoa balls (their version of arancini).
At the very least, have some music playing in the dining room (not just the bar) and DIM the lights!
Great Latin-fusion experience. They had a rice with duck special that was phenomenal. Ceviche is pretty good but not the best I’ve had (more rich than acidic). Tasty, fresh empanadas make for the perfect appetizer. Pisco drinks are yummy and strong - prepare to stumble on out!
Decor is very cold looking, food was so so nothing spectacular. Host was very sweet and meal prep was fast. Good Value just nothing special.
We were in San Francisco for New Year’s Eve! Good was good. Pisco sours were great! Company was the best! ❤️
I remember going to this restaurant many years ago when it first opened. It was pretty amazing. The food was good and the owner was there.
I went back yesterday on 12/30. The place was extremely quiet probably because of Holidays. The food was ok. Since I do not eat beef, there maybe the reason also. But the service was below par. The waiter was not attentive. He was trying to rush us out the whole night. Also, we did not order alcohol and dessert. We just ordered their specialty drink and coffee and tea. By the way, they don’t have Iced tea there.
Probably won’t go back again.
We were coming for dinner with 4 people, a bunch of people we knew showed up and decided to join...even though only two people were working, they were most accommodating and service was still great!
Great time. Service was wonderful. Even moved us to a better table after another group left.
Destino is our favorite Peruvian restaurant --- seasonal rotation of locally sourced produce and menu to match. Always excellent!
Lovely place and food. Music was a bit too loud to have a conversation, and service was a bit slow. Also was disappointed with table as they sat us in bar instead of dining room and there were open tables that never sat the entire timer we were there in the dining room which is a nicer atmosphere. Also they did not acknowledge Birthday as was noted on the reservation.
The food was good. A bit difficult for a low carb diet but good. The chile rellenos were quite good, the calamari rellenos very interesting. The fried plantains would have been totally blah without the dipping sauce. The butterfish ceviche was a bit too fishy. The empanadas were probably the best item, except for the multitude of onions, not listed on the menu, in the vegetarian empanada.
The cocktails were great, interesting and unique.
Okay experience overall. The texture of the ceviche was a little off but the flavors were good. I had to send back a cocktail since it was awful and ordered a glass of wine instead. The empanada appetizer was delicious. Service was fine but I would not recommend this place to a friend.
I really wanted to give this place a positive review. I had not been before and a friend stated that it was a great place that had been around for years.... The drinks and appetizers were good. I think my entire meal was ruined with the final dish. For my final dish I ordered the cornmeal biscuit with pork shoulder, then was told they were out of it. The place was not full and we dined at a reasonable hour of 7 PM. I had to quickly make a decision and decided on a cream corn dish with chicken and beef......it arrived and the minute it arrived I knew this was going to be a challenge. The top was totally burned......I mean black.....I gave it a taste and have never tasted a dish that I did not like so much. I was polite and did not send the dish back. Not sure I will go back.
I want to add that the owner took time to send me an email after my review. I will give them another try and update review. We need more owners like him.
This was for an anniversary celebration (which I noted when I made the reservation) and mentioned to the staff. No one seemed to care one way or the other. The cheese plate was served too cold but once given a chance to warm was delicious. Overall the food was good but as a special occasion it lacked distinction.
eaten here several times and have never been dissappointed
We went for a friends birthday and had a good time. They even brought out a special dessert for him!
