Welcome to Destination Grille. A contemporary, upscale yet casual restaurant that reminds us of travels and destinations around the globe. We are an experience like non-other!

Please join us Monday through Friday from 11am-9pm to enjoy our FULL MENU from open-close!
Saturdays 10am-9pm and Sundays from 10am-2pm! BRUNCH every Saturday and Sunday, FULL MENU plus BREAKFAST items from 10am-2pm.

Don't forget to join us for a night cap Fridays and Saturdays, our bars remain open until 11pm on both levels!

We have a lot of options with a fabulous ambience on each level, but it can be overwhelming your first time, please call if you have any questions!

    Food was good we got the mexican corn appetizer and pizza. Loved the roof top sunset view. Music was a little loud up there.

    2nd trip here and the food is just ok for very expensive prices. I guess you are paying for the decor and building. Had the bacon mac and cheese and it was very plain tasting. The other trip to this establishment, I had lasagna and it was plain tasting. I think they need better food!

    Jay our waiter was on point, personable and attentive. The horseradish sauce with the ribeye was a little weak but other than that everything was good.

    Tried brunch today. The breakfast cheesy potato was hard so we didn’t enjoy that, they did take that off the bill the omelet was good. Bloody Mary make your own for $5 was a good deal! Server was nice but new and had to go ask a lot of questions. Love the atmosphere. Will go again and try something else.

    I ordered a pizza and it was disgusting. It has absolutely zero flavor and it looked like it had been frozen for weeks and recently thawed. Would not recommend

    We’ve had the same server for the third time, tonight was the worst service yet. Took our app order, he came to check on us once that was brought out and to take our order. Our food was brought out, he didn’t clear any of the app plates and again we had to ask for more water. The 3 times we saw him we had to ask for water which was all we were drinking. I had looked over the menu/specials before arriving and was able to order the corn ribs and told one of the ppl in our party that it was prime rib special night. Nothing was told to us, there was no communication and the food was sub par at best. My chicken sandwich bun was completely soggy and gross my fries were brown and burnt. Maybe old grease? Unfortunately for a place that use to be our go to we won’t be back for quite awhile if at all.

    Our waitress, Grace, was amazing! We loved her sense of humor and how well she took care of us. The food was delicious! Chicken de burgo, Asiago potatoes, Brussels sprouts— all were so good! The bread was a treat as well!

    Destination Grille in Grimes Bar is very nice and colorful alcohol bottles background wall is beautiful, trouble is from your seats what you notice is the wait staff at the counter below waiting on for their orders to be filled, so their bodies are in the way blocking the pretty view above and of course they are constantly moving and talking, is distracting of a relaxing experience. Bar maid was accommodating and nice, just super busy. Hostess Grace was very accommodating on our change of seating three times to accommodate our 6 guests needs, we ended up at round table. Restaurant is beautiful providing a variety of seating arrangements, but inside is very very noisy due to the high ceilings and floors. Our party could not hear the waitress at all, we had to ask her to please come over to each couples’ seats to take their drink and dinner orders, this should be a staff process anyway rather than trying to talk to 6 guests across the table from one standing location. Wait staff was very nice, but did not seem like they coordinated our orders or with each other. We never got our appetizer at all, waitress took off the bill but we had to reminder her that food did not come out. Our same orders for burger & beer night for all 6 came out pretty fast, but the well done and medium selections came out on at least 4 burgers as not done to order, the meat was way pink, my husband’s said his burger was raw. But we did not complain when asked by 2 staff as we were with guests. Burgers were tasty but the candied bacon was not crisp in the least, very tasty but under cooked and limp, not appetizing and some guests took off their buns and did not eat, think the buns were toasted which is a plus. The seasoned French fries were tasty but not hot, just warm and a lot of them were broken, and again not served with any condiment for dipping. The chips were nicely crisp but had absolutely no salt or seasoning at all, why serve plain chips with no taste, guests were pretty disappointed.

    Requested a low table on reservation but was sat at a high-top table. Asked receptionist if we could be moved to a different table that wasn’t high-top or a booth. We were taken to a booth. Ended up going back to the high-top table. Our salads were brought out and then immediately our mains followed so we had no time in between. Dishes that were listed as spicy on the menu (Diablo pasta and spicy salmon) were not spicy and instead sweet. Bun on canoed bacon burger was hard around edge. Overall service was pretty poor. Was hoping service and food would be better. I’ve followed DG on Instagram for a while and really felt let down.

    The food is fantastic and each time I've eaten there, the owners have stopped by and asked me how it was. Servers are very attentive and very pleasant. I highly recommend making the short drive from Des Moines and taking in this up and coming restaurant.

    We stopped for drinks and dessert tonight at 8:30. As we arrived, we asked to sit on the rooftop patio. We were told they were just closing the rooftop area, but we could sit on the 1st floor patio or anywhere in the restaurant. We were disappointed & said we would just go elsewhere. The hostess then checked with the manager & said we could be seated on the rooftop. Disappointing that they want to close that area so early on an 80 degree beautiful Saturday evening. We were very happy they changed their mind & accommodated us. We enjoyed our drinks, which came out very quickly, as well as the devine flourless chocolate torte on a scrumptious blueberry compote, topped with a delicious amaretto ganache. Will definitely be back soon!

    Overall, it was a good lunch. However, two areas were annoying: (1) a fly kept buzzing around our table. Who still allows flys in restaurants these days? Pretty surprising in a new restaurant. (2) we prayed before our meal and the server came up to us and interrupted the prayer. He may not have known what we were doing, but it’s generally pretty obvious when both people have their heads down, one is talking, and we’re half way through it. Just a tip for servers: observe what the patrons are doing before you interrupt them.

    Sat on the back patio for Father's Day brunch. Everyone loved the food, though I think Chicken & Waffles was the best. Wait staff was excellent. Food came out faster than we expected. Not my first time eating at DG and won't be my last. Reservations through Open Table is a big plus.

    We went to dinner for my birthday. We started with shrimp cocktail followed by the lasagna. The lasagna was amazing! Very large portions. Took home some Tres Leches cake for later. Tried out the Island Daydream cocktail. Also very delicious.

    We went here for my birthday dinner and had a great time. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and let us know about their specials. We had the Mexican street corn dip as an appetizer and it was very good, and the $7 margaritas for the Thursday special were delicious! I had the lobster roll for dinner, lots of lobster meat was included, the flavor didn’t pack much of a punch but I still enjoyed it and felt it was good value for the amount of lobster you get. They also gave me a free skillet cookie with ice cream, which was outstanding! Overall we had a great time and I would recommend Destination Grille to anyone looking for a slightly upscale and modern dining experience.

    Good service once they finally touched the table. Long wait been being sat at the table and first touch by the wait staff. Food was good, but came out wrong and cold. They did remake the food relatively quick and was better the second try.
