Owners Luis Raga and Raul Aguilera brings you their vision of a casual bar/restaurant in Spain: a fun and unpretentious spot to gather friends, family, or dates. We bring you flavors from all over Spain, the concept is tapas and paellas to be shared at the table. You'll see dishes come on and off the menu often and while we offer a broad selection of dishes, due to our small kitchen, certain tapas will run out during the service. Don’t miss our Happy hour Mon-Fri 5-6pm ONLY on BAR & HIGH TOPS for heavily discounted tapas and drinks.
Also, make sure to check our back patio, it will transport you to a warm summer night of the south of Spain.
If driving street parking could be tricky, check out the SF general hospital parking structure just 2 blocks away from the restaurant. If coming from the East Bay or Peninsula location is just a few blocks from the freeway (exit Cesar Chavez/Potrero on the 80 freeway). The nearest Bart station is at Potrero & 24th, a 15-minute walk.

i coordinated with Raul, their events/large party manager, to host a surprise dinner for my husband which had 8 final attendees. the attendees kept fluctuating but raul was super accommodating. everyone was BLOWN away by the food! everyone at the table has been fortunate enough to have spent time spain and agreed it is the BEST spanish restaurant outside of spain itself! a total hidden gem. no one had been before, either! am so grateful that the destapas team made my husband’s birthday memorable. thank you so much! first time but not the last!

Had a wonderful dinner at Destapas. Very happy to have found this neighborhood gem! The food, service and staff was amazing. It is my new favorite spot in SF! I highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

Destapas is my fave place to dine in the Mission! Luis and his wonderful staff truly have beautifully delicious food that pairs excellently with their hospitality and service. Always a hit with local friends and guests!

Great experience at this wonderful neighborhood gem. All the tapas we ordered were both beautifully presented and delicious, and the squid ink paella was outstanding. Service was five star too. We sat in the quaint and very comfortable heated back garden.

Service was excellent. Attentive, friendly, competent and helpful. Food was delicious. Arugula salad was dressed perfectly, veggie empanadas were tasty and most paella was very good if not slightly too salty. All I all, appreciated the food, service and ambiance.
