Owners Luis Raga and Raul Aguilera brings you their vision of a casual bar/restaurant in Spain: a fun and unpretentious spot to gather friends, family, or dates. We bring you flavors from all over Spain, the concept is tapas and paellas to be shared at the table. You'll see dishes come on and off the menu often and while we offer a broad selection of dishes, due to our small kitchen, certain tapas will run out during the service. Don’t miss our Happy hour Mon-Fri 5-6pm ONLY on BAR & HIGH TOPS for heavily discounted tapas and drinks.
Also, make sure to check our back patio, it will transport you to a warm summer night of the south of Spain.
If driving street parking could be tricky, check out the SF general hospital parking structure just 2 blocks away from the restaurant. If coming from the East Bay or Peninsula location is just a few blocks from the freeway (exit Cesar Chavez/Potrero on the 80 freeway). The nearest Bart station is at Potrero & 24th, a 15-minute walk.

Destapas is our favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. We love the food and the staff is awesome. The patatas bravas, beef empanadas, croquetas de jamón serrano, pan con tomate and serrano, tarta de Santiago, sangria are the best. My husband loves the cachopo and Montsant wine. We visit Destapas every 3 weeks, we live on Marin.

Wonderful Birthday dinner for our vegitarian son. Friendly helpful servers. Lots of options. Food was very tasty and varied. Especially liked the paella!

Really enjoyed the food and the sangria. We had veggies and fish and it was all delicious. The cheesecake is yummy too! A little bit of Spain in SF!

i coordinated with Raul, their events/large party manager, to host a surprise dinner for my husband which had 8 final attendees. the attendees kept fluctuating but raul was super accommodating. everyone was BLOWN away by the food! everyone at the table has been fortunate enough to have spent time spain and agreed it is the BEST spanish restaurant outside of spain itself! a total hidden gem. no one had been before, either! am so grateful that the destapas team made my husband’s birthday memorable. thank you so much! first time but not the last!

Had a wonderful dinner at Destapas. Very happy to have found this neighborhood gem! The food, service and staff was amazing. It is my new favorite spot in SF! I highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

Destapas is my fave place to dine in the Mission! Luis and his wonderful staff truly have beautifully delicious food that pairs excellently with their hospitality and service. Always a hit with local friends and guests!
