First time dining here and had a great experience. Atmosphere is great and everything we ate was fantastic. Surprised there were not more people there on a Sunday night. Will definitely come back.

The food was delicious and our server was friendly and courteous. We waited a little bit for the entrees, but wouldn't have really noticed if we hadn't needed to be somewhere after dinner.
The A/C was out, which wasn't their fault. They did warn us when we arrived, and it was it was tolerable.
There is a problem with Blue Llama's noise from upstairs. We could definitely hear the bass thumping. I hope the folk who own each establishment can get together and figure out how to put some noise block in or Dessous will probably be the loser.
The food and the service were great. Truly a treat. The only thing that put a damper on the evening was the air conditioner was missing. I thought it may be that we were there at opening but it never cooled off. So strange being on the lower level but it was hot in the restaurant.
It is quiet early in the evening which is great. There are unique things they do in terms of flavor such as adopting Indian flavors pretty well. However for the price point their presentation is far below expectation. Flavors tend to be busy and the fat contents are pretty high. The wine listings are pretty poor.
Wow. I was intrigued by the menu and impressed by the reviews, but I still didn't quite expect this. The service was excellent and the food both inventive and excellent (two attributes that don't always go together!).
We went here for our anniversary and had a fabulous dinner with great service. We will definately come back.

Many locals don't seem to know about Dessous... whether because it's underground, or because its tiny sign and doorway are hard to spot on Main Street's restaurant row. And that's a same, because the cool, elegant decor, attentive service and Eve Aronoff-inspired menu should be drawing a larger crowd.
We stopped in during during Restaurant Week, but the place was less than full and the servers had both the time and inclination to give us full attention, along with some suggestions. All the preparations came off the regular menu -- we particularly enjoyed the shellfish ceviche appetizer and my wife's savory sea bass main. Desserts were indifferent.
Dinged one check for portion size; Dessous seems to think that Restaurant Week specials mean serving half-size portions at 40%-off prices. My 40-garlic-clove consisted of three thin, London broil-style slices of beef. Perfectly seasoned and cooked -- but really? All the other dishes were similarly diminutive; when asked, our server confirmed that portions had been scaled way back.
Nonetheless, we plan to stop in again, because what we ate was well-done and interesting, and there are multiple other items on the menu we'd like to try.
Lovely food, excellent service (after a bit of a wait to be greeted - they were slammed for Restaurant Week), and intriguing ambiance - clean/white without being sterile; comfortable.
‘twas a dream
The 4 small slices of steak they served was mostly tendon and gristle. I wouldn’t have served that to guests at my home, let alone paying customers. Best dish was the free naan. Appetizers were decent.

I really enjoyed the Food and drinks. Excellent. Really nice interior decor. The ambiance was marred by the squeals of a baby at a nearby table. Her Parents and grandparents were oblivious. When I was at that point in my life all the adults would take turns taking the baby for a walk away from the table so the others could enjoy part of the meal. Or get a sitter if you’re going to an upscale restaurant such as this.
Made a reservation here for restaurant week, and it turned out great! My partner and I each ordered something different for each course so that we could share, and everything was wonderful! We tried the Lamb Bolitos and Seafood Ceviche as appetizers, the Skillet Strip and Spaccatelli as entrees, and one of each dessert (the crumble and the tres leches cake). My favorite dish was probably the ceviche. The serving sizes were a bit small, but it makes sense since all three courses made for quite a filling meal. The price range is definitely out of my range regularly, but for restaurant week, this was a great deal!

Dessous was a great experience all around. Nice decor and ambiance, great service and food was excellent! Took servers advice and got the sea bass which was perfectly seasoned and prepared. My husband had the lamb shank which was also outstanding. Loved the Indian bread pudding for dessert! We will definitely be back
I experienced the most delicious meal in Ann Arbor (and anywhere else I’ve been). The waitstaff, noise level, presentation, and beautiful food were amazing. The sea bass was the best!
We were there for a soft opening for their future brunch. Despite the fact that it was just a "dress rehearsal," the food was excellent. Can't wait to go back for dinner.
This is our favorite upscale restaurant in Ann Arbor as we have had only good experiences here. For my husband’s 50th birthday, we had a party of 8 and I pre-ordered a cake from the kitchen. Everyone enjoyed the food, drinks and cake, plus the service was outstanding.

Food was tasty. Service in bar was not attentive - a friend in our group joked that the bartender had 5 jobs including dishwasher which gives an idea of how distracted he was.

The food is absolutely fantastic. Amazing flavors and combinations etc. We were sat a bit too close to the tables adjacent to us which was a bit less desirable, but didn't negatively affect the dining experience as a whole.

Great place. A bit tricky to find as it is downstairs. But as long as you follow the address numbers you'll find it without a problem. Great staff, amazing take on their various dishes. Although only in bottles, an amazing beer selection to complement your meal and what looks like a good wine list. Great place for taking clients or significant others. Really enjoyed it.
