I made the reservation for a friend’s niece who was in town from Europe. I’ve never met her but had her pegged for the vegan type, but this was the feedback I got from her … “It was amazing! Thank you so much for hooking us up! One of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at ever!!” Sounds like it could be a little exaggerated but it sounds to me the staff really treated her well as they do all their patrons based on my experience. Great job, DV staff.

There is one thing my family can agree on and it's dining at a good steak house. As such, Desi Vega's is a regular go-to when we visit New Orleans. This experience is not inexpensive, but it is worth every penny. Splurge on a variety of appetizers, steaks, and dessert, as well as a pre-dinner cocktail and a nice bottle of wine. Allow yourself to take recommendations from the attentive staff, because they know the menu best. Again, this restaurant is not for those on a budget. It is, however, the place to go for a fantastic meal and a memorable experience. Five Stars!

From the moment we checked in until the time we left, our experience was exceptional. Our server and his two assistants were very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. I recommend the boned filet Mignon. I don’t recall ever having it anywhere else before. It was very flavorful. Overall, a very good steakhouse. Good for special occasions or business. Walking distance from downtown.

This was our first time here and from the get go it was a little frustrating. There was no hostess in the front when you entered. The entrance was confusing itself. The table was nice but the room was very loud with a large group practically screaming the entire meal. The waiter was good in the beginning but he would disappear for large periods of time and it was difficult to have anyone help us with drink refills or anything. It took an hour just to get appetizers. The food was good though. The restrooms were very dirty. Overall, it was an okay experience but I expected better for such a well known steakhouse.

We anticipated a steakhouse experience, but it was more like a bar setting. Our table was right across from the hostess station and the bar. While the service was good we didn’t enjoy our meal as much as we had hoped. The lobster and steak were both covered with pepper. Both of our steaks were undercooked and the lobster over done. Dessert was very average. All in all we felt that it was also overpriced. I wouldn’t recommend.

With a commitment to excellence from the host stand to the table, this is a first class experience. Kevin, our server has almost ten years of experience at this restaurant to guide you through the menu. We are especially fond of the specials which skillfully highlight local ingredients. The special salad last night had local strawberries and fresh jumbo lump crab. Kevin recommend our bone in filet be pre sliced in the the kitchen which made it much easier to share. Plenty of staff are on hand to exceed your every expectation. Cannot wait to return.

I like how there was well staffed, the food came out in a timely manner and we were constantly checked on. Having multiple people working each table is brilliant.

We were visiting New Orleans for the weekend and friends recommended Desi Vegas. The meal and service were outstanding!! The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu and gave great suggestions! We enjoyed our meal and cocktails. Will definitely be back!
