We regularly ate in prior to COVID-19 because we enjoy the food and beer. It was just okay this time. I was kind of disappointed in the beer selection and the ambiance was missing something.
Looking forward to things becoming more normal and appreciated dining out.
Everything felt safe. Great airflow.
Sat outside comfortable in the sun attentive service, great hamburger with lots of goodies, great fresh fries with aioli. Best hamburger I have ever had. Very nice evening.
Dining at Deschutes was great. This was our first time. The ambience was great. Not too loud. My bf and I enjoyed both beer samplers and food. Everything was delicious. Cannot wait to come back again
Great spot to grab a drink and bite before the Thorns. Helpful we had a reservation since it was busy on a Friday night. Felt very Covid safe.
The pictures make it look a little bit fancier than it actually is, but we still had a great time! The mac and cheese was delicious and their garlic fries were bomb! I'm not a big beer fan but the spiked marionberry lemonade was good!
Very casual, fun, we didn't feel rushed at all and our server answered our questions and gave recommendations. It's also on the nicer side of downtown!
Great service & food.................................................
Love going here! Went for an Easter Sunday brunch with my family and we all loved it! We had the elk burger, garlic fries, fried brussels, steaks and mac/cheese. Service is always good!
Every time I have family or friends from out of town come to visit, this is one of the few places we have to take them to. Thank you!
Great food and service! Would absolutely recommend!
I really feel like the service was lacking when we went for my birthday this last week. It was hard to get any waitress, waiter or staff to help get our food ordered? And then when it did half was cold which was super disappointing.
Great ambience and excellent food and beverage. Steak Frites was excellent and my wife loved her elk burger. Black butte porter completed the excellent evening.
The pretzel was great! The cheese to dip the pretzel in was even better. The marionberry lemonade was amazing. I highly recommend this place!
Nice to be able to get out-- safely-- amid the continued COVID safety measures.
We love Deschutes. Happy to be back inside dining and, more importantly, imbibing. 🍺
We went on a weekend for lunch. The food was delicious, a roasted red pepper soup, macaroni and cheese, veggie burgers, and marionberry cobbler. Everything was well prepared and delicious. One of the best veggie burgers around. The service was great. We were greeted promptly, the menu was explained to satisfaction, and the beers were described well. In terms of safety during COVID the social distancing was comfortable and the staff was appropriately masked at all times. This is not fine dining, but it is really good brew pub food, served in a pleasant atmosphere by helpful and knowledgeable staff.
We enjoyed our flight of IPAs and then a pint of our favorite. Our server was pleasant and well informed about the beers. We only ordered the pretzel, but that was plenty for two to share. Loved the cheese sauce and mustard that came with it.
Service and food is awesome, as always! They take particularly good care when it comes to safety and sanitation, and they are attentive as it relates to cleanliness and COVID precautions.
Menu has slimmed while prices have gone up, beer prices are silly-$7 pints?!
Tried Deschuutted first time since lockdown. It was a very good experience! A little sad to see fellow patrons so far apart but the world we’re living in. Food was great! Choices plenty, service pleasant , just go and see for yourself.
I love this place. It is a jewel of the community. We’re from out-of-town and they made us feel very welcome. Server was great, food was awesome. I expect to stop by every time I visit Portland.
It was so great to get back to Deschutes! We had an amazing experience as always! And with the social distancing in place they do an amazing job.
It was so nice to be inside a restaurant after not being able to for such a long time!
Deschutes Brewery is now open at 25% capacity. There food and service are very good and up on par from there full open level. Of course the ambiance can't be like the lively place Deschutes should be, but people were enjoying themselves. It was a fun night out.
We wanted to find a place that had indoor dining near Living Room Theater for my nephews birthday so we chose Deschutes. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy our experience due to the lack of customer service and food quality. So we wouldn’t recommend it to the others for dinner.
As usually had a great time .. the turn off was that we were told like 5 times ... you know it is only 90 minutes that you can stay .. we understood the circumstances.. but saying it once and display it on the menu would’ve be sufficient.. the entire time I watched the time.
The restaurant adhere to social distance and was very accommodating.
Great food, beer Ann service! We’ll be back.
Everything was delicious, beer is top notch. Well worth the afternoon to go have lunch!
Great experience, and good set up for social distancing
Chose to visit again before the 2nd (3rd? maybe 2nd) Covid shutdown because this is one of my favorite Portland places for happy hour.
Good service and we like the food, especially the pretzel, steak frites and the beer flights fun and affordable. All the food is tasty and with the spaced seating I felt very safe. Consistently great all around.
The food was fantastic and timely. Our server was attentive and made great conversation. I needed a toothpick and they didn’t have any, so my server fashioned a skewer to help me and it was greatly appreciated! Above and beyond!
I had the blazing bacon burger...it was really special!
Great place to grab a pint - especially with the shutdown.
The restaurant confirmed my reservation but upon arriving there was a note on the door saying they were closed temporarily with no explanation nor communication from the restaurant.
Full disclosure, I didn't experience Deschutes at all - because despite having a reservation and confirming it for 10/31, I got in an Uber to find it closed with just a sign on the window with no explanation. No email or text notification that they'd be closed at all. I wanted to just leave a 1 star for customer service for that reason, but OpenTable made me rate everything so here we are. Moral of the story, I guess after you make and confirm your reservation you should call ahead anyways.
We had a reservation for Saturday night & when we showed up for our dinner, the entire restaurant was closed and empty. I would have appreciated notification so that my out of town guests and I could have made an alternate plan. Very disappointed by the lack of communication.
They were closed and never canceled our reservation or let us know at all. We showed up to an empty dark restaurant and a hasty sign on the door.
Last minute closings happen but at least cancel reservations
they closed unexpectedly. no email or text to tell us. very unprofessional.
The food was incredible, the beer was amazing, and the staff was fantastic. Could not have asked for a better experience!
Very nice. Enjoyed the beers
Awesome, socially distanced dining experience. Food was fantastic and so so glad we went.
Lucked out that we found a reservation time within 30 minutes the time we wanted. Really recommend getting one so you don't miss out on this food and drinks!
