Always love Deschutes! Great food and bomb beer. Staff is always super nice as well!
Best in class service, great people, great atmosphere, amazing food. I come back for the service alone.
Very well done... We appreciate all their efforts during this time.. We are happy they are back! Food was great.. Service was superb! Great beers! We will go back often!!
Great job with social distancing. I felt very comfortable with the whole experience. Even got 10% off for wearing a mask while moving through the restaurant.
We had an amazing time. Very appropriate for these strange times. Atmosphere was perfect. Food delish! Wait staff attentive and masked. The experience was exactly what we wanted.
Awesome food and drinks! Our waiter helped with drink recommendations and brought them out quickly. All of the food that our group had was phenomenal! Would definitely recommend!!
The vegan quinoa burger was great! The drinks were amazing and our server was the best. I wish I could have caught his name. He was very friendly and attentive!
Great food, amazing service and of course delicious Beer
We ate at Deschutes before heading to a Blazers game. We were pleased with a great dining experience down town. The only off putting part of our visit was being approached for spare change on our way in AND on our way out of the restaurant by a loitering citizen.
Great food even better beer
Ambience and rustic deco were nice. Drink selection not varied for non-beer drinkers. Spicy chicken and waffles were more chicken drowned in buffalo sauce. Server was horrible and inattentive.
Large party- great service
Fun place. Good for big groups and families. Menu is on smaller side. Our group thought the burgers were great but also on small side. Kids loved the house root beer.
Our server was simply the best, wish I had caught his name. He noticed it was my fiances birthday and went above and beyond with just a simple candle and a free beer. Can't beat that. Small menu and a bit pricey for what you get but we would definitely be back. Thanks again!
My husbands favorite brewery and it was great for Valentine’s Day dinner.
I mean, we WERE able to get a reservation for Valentine's Day, but my Coho salmon was dry and rubbery, and the dill spaetzle was kinda like damp then dried breadcrumbs (maybe it's supposed to be this way?). My friend had a burger that he enjoyed. I should try again on another night (as this place has a lovely reputation). But I would never get the salmon again.
We eat here before going to the Armory at least a dozen times a year. Always great food and beer! The interior is beautiful with lots of carved wood.
Our friend from Texas came into town and we thought this would be a great place to take her. We were not disappointed.
Great food!
Good food but a limited menu. The focus is on the beers but overall, a great place for good beer, food and friends.
Our waitress was very good. The food was excellent. The price was within reason.
Fabulous food. Helpful waitstaff. We were visiting from out of town but will definitely be back
Great food and even better beer
A get together with family members who were part of a group on town for a bar Mitzvah
Great food , many beer choices. Gluten friendly. I kept wanting those delicious looking soft pretzels being served around us. But, our food was great too.
A great location for a small bite with great ales on tab. Conveniently located in downtown Portland very close to Portland Center Stage in the Armory.
A very enjoyable date night! Very quick service and the food was delicious! We did beer flights which were a really nice way to become more familiar with the menu. We started with the appetizer board and then my husband had the pub burger and I the Crab roll. Normally would have not picked the crab roll, but I am so glad I did it was delicious!
The roasted vegetable salad was great. I added chicken which was also very tasty. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Great dinner! Will go back
We arrived to a noisy and
Crowded atmosphere, there seemed to be adequate staffing, however, the time between the greeting by the waiter and the delivery of both food and drinks seemed longish.
That being said, we would go back.
Great pre-play celebration spot! We had a great time. The table for 10 is a little tight for 10, however
Service was slow and inattentive, salad was overdressed, bloody Mary was terrible (FYI the beer is not a chaser, it’s in the drink). Overall very disappointed and we won’t be back anytime soon.
Deschutes is a must--creative and delicious craft beers with equal attention to creative and delicious food. Moreover, the servers are almost always friendly, competent, and knowledgeable. And the ambience could not be more appropriate. Expert hand carving contributes to a unique Oregonian feel.
We enjoyed our time there! Our server was great and the food was very good!
To he honest, my recommendation is based solely on the garlic fries at this point. We were at Deschutes 3 years ago and was so excited to be back and enjoy their burgers and brews. We were disappointed by the food to be honest and it wasn't great value. We would prob go back for the fries or appies but not dinner. Service was good despite a packed Saturday night! Handled an incorrect order efficiently but no offer to discount meal and only remade part of the meal.
Service was great and the food was amazing! Would totally recommend to anyone!
The whole dining experience can be summed up by the arrogant server who, when I asked for a cup of decaf coffee, responded, "this is a brewery not a coffee shop, we don't have decaf coffee." This set the tone for the evening. Is it that outrageous to ask for a cup of decaf coffee in a full service restauarnt?
That is totally unacceptable! I will reach out to you - thank you for providing your email address. Kitra Musick - General Manager
Good food. The crab salad was wonderful as was the bread that came with it. The pork over grits was also delicious. My husband loved the beer. Good service.
This is a place I ate at 6-7 years ago and remembered fondly. I came back for a quick trip as we passed through town and was blown away, just as good, maybe better. Food is out of this world, not just your average pub fare. Just amazing. Very loud and busy even on a Thursday so I was very happy I had a reservation.
We were just going for a work lunch, (no beer), so maybe this review isn't your typical patrons.
The atmosphere and service were good, no complaints.
What did surprise me and the other 3 guests were the lack of any healthy type proteins or dishes.
It felt like 80% of the menu was red meat. Could really use more variety in the menu.
Otherwise a nice lunch.
Really enjoy their beer and casual dining experience.
