About Denver Chophouse
You'll find the comfortable, warm-wooded restaurant filled with a crowd as diverse as the menu there for a special occasion or a casual gathering. The nostalgic feel, including the sounds of Big Band 30's and 40's coupled with a current menu with generous portions gives the Denver ChopHouse its approachable, yet upscale contemporary style. Handcrafted ales brewed on-site, small batch bourbons, and a fine array of single malt scotches all add to the ChopHouse tradition.

Denver Chophouse Ratings and Reviews
I was disappointed with the initial service we received when we came in. We had a reservation and had to wait about 30+ minutes while they let people who did not have reservations and came in AFTER us to be seated. I found this to unacceptable and felt the hosts had some sort of a prejudice against us as it was very clear they were not thrilled to be serving us. The waitress was mostly polite and I don't have anything negative so say about her, but the hosts working the desk as you come in were absolutely rude and need customer service training. I would have expected better from a higher-class restaurant. The only things that I liked about the restaurant were the Food and the interior construction/look of the building and design.
I ordered the prime ribeye steak. I ordered it medium rare. It came out medium. It was tough and didn’t have the rich flavor of a prime steak. If it was prime it had been previously frozen but my guess is they charged me prime price for choice beef. If you go I recommend you skip the prime and just order the choice steaks on their menu. It’s probably the same thing.
We went for lunch to celebrate our anniversary. Our server, Megan, was one of the best servers I have ever had. Very helpful with great menu suggestions, very attentive without being intrusive. I had a beef fillet which was excellent. My wife had salmon with a beautiful lobster tail added. The food was awesome. Our server comped a dessert for us as it was our anniversary. The brownie sunday was simply sinful. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back.
We went here for New Years Eve. My husband's bone-in rib-eye steak was tough and the mashed potatoes weren't edible. I had a lobster which was stringy and the baked potato was hard. Service is poor for this price point. We valet parked the car because it was a cold evening and they charged $16! Overall, a bad experience for $140...not ever going back!
We came for Christmas Eve and he Chophouse did not disappoint! We had a corner booth which was perfect and our waiter Rikki was extremely attentive and fun. The food was amazing, portions were huge and the prices were just right! Can't say enough great things about our night. Thank you Chophouse and Rikki!
The Chophouse is our favorite for special occasions. The bone-in ribeye is my particular favorite, along with the mashed potatoes and cabernet mushrooms. Husband gets the beef tips pretty much everytime and the prime rib on occasion. The wine list is fabulous. Chris, our waiter, made a great red selection for me to go wih my steak. It was perfect. The added bonus of cheesecake for a birthday made the meal. We take Rtd down and it is within walking distance from Union station with a couple great places for a pre or post dinner drink. Since we take the bus, we dont worry about a DUI.
Ambiance and Service was excellent, Steak was tough and lukewarm and one steak sent back because cold. This is my third experience with the same issues. I remember having lunch a while ago there with my wife and having the most succulent chops ever, I have not experienced the same since. This last experience was with a group of 9 that go out regularly, most were less than impressed.
Not good, not bad. My filet was very tender but overcooked. My wife's prime rib was as well. It seems that they grill the rib if you order over medium+ but this was beyond well. They brought her another which was better, but we have had much better elsewhere (Poppies!) Waitstaff and wine were good. The crab cake was very good. Basically there are a lot better options for the money.
Our evening was so disappointing because we had the worst table in the house. It was right next to the kitchen door and across from the waiters checkout station. The restaurant is noisy anyway, but add full, rickety dishcarts rolling across a tile floor, kitchen workers constantly in your line of view and waiters chatting across the way and you can imagine how awful it was. The pancetta shrimp starter and wedge salad were tasty, but both the filet and prime rib were underwhelming in both presentation and flavor. I will not be returning any time soon. Consider yourself warned.
Unfortunately, this was not our best experience at the Chop. We've been going for years, especially on birthdays, etc. This time was not good. We ran late and i called to let them know we had hit traffic. We always request the corner booth but when we arrived and they said they wouldn't be able to seat us there as the server for that area had just left. We did end up getting the corner table, but my husband's chix piccata was cold when the food was delivered. It seemed our server was less than thrilled to have our table. They also forgot (didn't even acknowledge) our birthdays. Too bad.
