About Denver Chophouse
You'll find the comfortable, warm-wooded restaurant filled with a crowd as diverse as the menu there for a special occasion or a casual gathering. The nostalgic feel, including the sounds of Big Band 30's and 40's coupled with a current menu with generous portions gives the Denver ChopHouse its approachable, yet upscale contemporary style. Handcrafted ales brewed on-site, small batch bourbons, and a fine array of single malt scotches all add to the ChopHouse tradition.

Denver Chophouse Ratings and Reviews
Our evening was so disappointing because we had the worst table in the house. It was right next to the kitchen door and across from the waiters checkout station. The restaurant is noisy anyway, but add full, rickety dishcarts rolling across a tile floor, kitchen workers constantly in your line of view and waiters chatting across the way and you can imagine how awful it was. The pancetta shrimp starter and wedge salad were tasty, but both the filet and prime rib were underwhelming in both presentation and flavor. I will not be returning any time soon. Consider yourself warned.
Unfortunately, this was not our best experience at the Chop. We've been going for years, especially on birthdays, etc. This time was not good. We ran late and i called to let them know we had hit traffic. We always request the corner booth but when we arrived and they said they wouldn't be able to seat us there as the server for that area had just left. We did end up getting the corner table, but my husband's chix piccata was cold when the food was delivered. It seemed our server was less than thrilled to have our table. They also forgot (didn't even acknowledge) our birthdays. Too bad.
Took a group of business associates in for a dinner to wrap up a week of work. A few Americans, two Brits, and an Irish lady. Bobby was our server and my guests were well taken care of and very impressed with the level of service and comfort Bobby presented. They were commenting the next day at what a refreshing experience it was and how much it differs than service in Europe. The food as always was incredible. Proud to have such an awesome restaurant in my home town.
So the Ambiance was somewhat romantic. The service was decent not exceptional. The drinks were excellent. The food was very good. Never had rack of lamb. The prices were out the roof. I enjoyed the experience. It was a special occasion, my son was in town from Texas. We all enjoyed the experience. However we may not be back too often. A little too expensive.
Two of my girlfriends and I came in for lunch/brunch this past Sunday. Chop House has always been a favorite place of mine, but this was my first time trying their brunch.
I love the atmosphere at the Denver Chop House! The music is very eclectic, the booths roomy and very comfortable. They were starting to put up their holiday decorations, which were very pretty and added a festive quality to the ambiance. Our waiter greeted us right away. I didn't catch his name but he was very pleasant and attentive.
My two friends opted for the lunch menu. It's nice that you can do either lunch or brunch and not stuck with brunch like most places do. They both ordered the Shaved Prime Rib sandwiches with choice of side. They asked for au jus, which he accommodated their special request. The sandwiches were HUGE and they couldn't stop commenting on how flavorful the meat was.
I started off with a cup of French Onion soup. I have always liked their version of that soup and this time did not disappoint. I then ordered a "flight" of Eggs Benedict. The brunch menu offered 3 types of Benedict, serves with a side of potatoes. I loved that they offered the flight of Benedict as it gave me the opportunity to try all three versions. When he brought it to the table the eggs were not runny. I asked for them to be redone which he did so immediately and apologized for the inconvenience. When he brought out the 2nd plate they were perfect! The first Benedict was shaved prime rib and asparagus with White Cheddar Hollandaise sauce. The prime rib flavors were to die or and my favorite of the three. The 2nd had avocado slices and roasted tomatoes, again with the White Cheddar Hollandaise sauce and lastly was a traditional Benedict with Canadian Bacon with White Cheddar Hollandaise sauce. I was very satisfied with the portion size and kept craving them when I got home. The Denver Chop House is a great place! I would recommend it to everyone! Reservations are recommended!
The overall ambiance of Chop House is fantastic but the service and food destroyed the experience. We made reservations quite a while in advance as we were driving from out of state for my wife’s birthday. We were seated promptly which is a plus but our server was extremely uninterested and kept forgetting parts of our meal. The food was promising until it arrived my wife’s filet was very undercooked for a medium well and my ribeye was over cooked for a medium. I ordered Bernaise and it never arrived and the asparagus was basically raw and so fiberous that no one ate it. The Cheddar mashed potatoes were congealed into a solid ball of starchy mess. I am curious if all of this was because it was very slow and the eve of Thanksgiving which is likely but who knows.
Denver has a lot of choices when it comes to dining and brewed beers. We tried the Chophouse for my son's birthday and we were very impressed. From the moment we walked into the restaurant to the time we left, we were treated to friendly staff members, a great selection of food and drinks, and an awesome dessert! Our waitress (Megan) was off the charts in friendliness and service and she single-handedly made this birthday dinner a memorable evening. When you try the Chophouse, ask for her and you'll see firsthand why we had such a nice evening!
We sampled the beers that are brewed on prem and they were all fantastic! The wine selection is also great and as mentioned, our meals were all wonderful.
I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion!
The steak was very good, good wine selection and fair pricing. Service was not very good, waitress was not very interested in service, poured our wine to start then we pours our own after that!
We were there during Veterans week end, they should have not had NFL games on the TVs. Disrespectful to Veterans. I know veterans that can not kneel?
We have been to the Chophouse for dinner in the past but had not been there in a few years. Although our service was good, we thought the food was not that great... especially for the money. When my husband complained about his 16 oz prime rib being so fatty, the server acknowledged but didn’t do anything. I had the scallops and just felt they were overpriced for what you got. Wouldn’t recommend any longer....
We looked forward to dinner there. We work at Coors field and often hear nice things about the location. We had a reservation and were seating in basically a deserted part of the restaurant. The serve was slow to get to the table, and the first round of drinks were even slower to come out. We ordered an appetizer to share, and the server took our full order, which was fine. The soup arrived before the appetizer, and we had to remind the server we ordered one. So while the soup cooled, we waited. No one cam by to check on drinks unless food was delivered, so there was an opportunity missed. I ordered the rack of lamb medium rare, it came out medium, but was still very flavorful. The server did comp the appetizer, but that did not make up for the evening. On the more positive note, the valet service was excellent.
My partner and I went to Chop House for our 4-year anniversary, and were really impressed with the food as well as the service. I'd mentioned the occasion in my reservation, and the staff were kind enough to set us up with candle and cute anniversary message on the table-cover. They also took the time throughout the night to congratulate us, going above and beyond already-excellent service. We had the rack of lamb as well as the burger, and while both were excellent, the lamb in particular was a stunning dish at a VERY reasonable price. Chophouse is not cheap but there's no gauging, you pay for good cuts but they don't make you pay exorbitant markups. As for drinks, the specialty gin and tonic was delightful, as aromatic as it was well-balanced. My personal favorite is the Irish-style amber Red Ale they brew, which is just fantastically drink-able. I will have to try the other selectons next time. The bartenders are real professionals: I wandered in one night with a few friends, dressed in street clothes, and the bartender took the time to serve us quickly and check up on us often. As a young person, I can tell when I'm being blown off as a low-spender, but all of my Chophouse experiences have been truly incredible. Check it out!
Felt forgotten about on numerous occasions. Drinks left empty on numerous occasions. Had to ask alternate server for beverage refills, being a brewery we wanted to try a number of drinks but instead server assumed what our drink orders were and tried to bring the same drinks. Food and appetizers were good and so was the atmosphere. It was wife’s birthday and the two of spent upwards of $190 but server treated us as if we were there to drink water and eat an appetizer.
