Denino's Greenwich Village
We originally opened in 1937 as a full tavern on Richmond Avenue, Staten Island until Carlo Denino introduced Pizza in 1951. Since then, Denino’s Pizzeria and Tavern has been renowned for our pizza and Italian cuisine which we always prepare fresh daily. We use our family’s recipes for Chicken Parmigiana, Meatballs and past, over the years we’ve added our own version of tavern favorites like Wings, Scungilli and Hero Sandwiches.
Everything is always made from scratch, never frozen, and cooked to order.
Whenever New Yorkers come home, they come home to Denino’s Pizzeria
for thin crust, crispy, Cheesy Pizza piping hot right out of the oven.
When you visit a Denino’s Restaurant you are sharing in a part of our
legacy and family tradition that started nearly 8 decades ago.
I went to this restaurant with a party of 8 for a late dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant was busy but not too crowded. We were seated within 15 minutes of arriving. We ordered a vodka pizza, a margarita pizza, zucchini frittes, the mozzarella sticks, an arugula salad, and pasta. The pizzas were huge and delicious. We loved the arugula salad. I liked our appetizers (zucchini frittes and mozzarella sticks) but wish I had saved the room for the pasta, pizza, and salad. They had a great selection of Italian red wines. The wine was very reasonably priced for the quality. Would definitely go back the next time I’m in the area.
I wish I can give 0 star! The food very terrible . Everything Very buttery! Don’t waste your money here.
Absolutely one of my favorite pizza places. Pizza and service always excellent.
Great pizza. Fun spot. Highly recommend
Met up with some friends for drinks and dinner. We had the BEST time! Food was amazing. We got wings, sticks, pasta and pizza. Everything was amazing. Troy took such good care of us :) Can’t wait to go back!!
So fun and such fantastic pizza. Have been to the Staten Island restaurant several times. Food is as good and atmosphere is better.
Wait staff outstanding. Surroundings really cool. Calamari a little chewy, but good; pizza not up to Staten Island location standards. Wait til you get to Port Richmond. Or try Sorbillo in the East Village for honest-to-goodness Neapolitan pizza.
Loved everything about it! We were a party of 7 showing a friend from Spain around NYC. It was a great dinner spot for us!
Clam pizza mmmmmm.
We were in NYC for the weekend and had dinner at Deninos on a busy Saturday night. The place was hopping but with our reservation we were seated immediately at an open air table along the street. It happened to be the 3rd Anniversary of ownership so there were lots of friends of the owners there to celebrate. We were quickly part of the celebration and were even treated to glasses of champagne. Our dinner of Sangria, calamari and white clam pizza was delicious and the fun family vibe is what we hoped for on our visit to GreenwichVillage. We highly recommend checking out Deninos if you are looking for a good meal and a fun night out.
So we took my son and 5 other people for his birthday. Had someone call ahead who knew the owner who assured us of VIP treatment.
Sat in window. Noisy, hot, cramped but willing to accept all of that because if the food was as good as Staten Island it would be worth it.
Appetizers were mediocre but the pizza was good.
The food came out in rapid fire succession but did have trouble identifying the server when we wanted things like another drink or ice.
Then the check was delivered. When the owner saw my confusion he asked and I said, don’t you have desserts? Mind you, he knew we were there for my sons birthday.
So they bring dessert menus, 10 seconds later server asks if we want anything, I asked for a few minutes to decide. She disappears again. 5 minutes later owner, yes the guy who is supposed to be making us feel special, brings check and says they have a time limit on reservations. He said we didn’t want dessert and I told him I asked for a few minutes to decide.
So the special treatment was to be squeezed into a hot window and rushed through a $300 dinner to ultimately be kicked out because as you know, turning tables over is their road to profitability.
That was my being treated as a VIP. Very Insignificant Pion.
Have had three experiences this week of restaurants taking their customers for granted. The demand in NYC to eat out is so high, we are just nameless faces who they rush in and out, pad the bills, and then look confused when you don’t bow on the way out.
Maybe it’s time to start eating home.
What a novel idea.
Eat here it's phenomenal! Right up there with the other great pizza joints in the area (Lombardi's, Joe's, John's)
Food was terrible. It’s not an italian restaurant, it’s a pub with an italian name. Food was not to the standard of us European. Pizza had no flavor...
Food was tasty and the staff was great!
Amazing food, incredible service, great places! Absolutely love this place! I go again and again
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. The only issue we had were these young boys approaching us and panhandling candy for sale. They wouldn’t take no for an answer. I am all for helping kids in needs but felt a member of Deninos should have handled it. Other patrons were talking about it as well. However I love the food and service and we frequent this place a lot and will continue to !!
Good thin crust pizza, great wine, wonderful, friendly service!!
So glad we discovered this restaurant. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable with fantastic large windows that open up to the street. The restaurant is located on a great street with lots of activity. The pizza and garlic bread were fantastic. I will definitely come back next time I am in NYC.
We were entertaining relatives visiting New York from Central America and wanted to expose them to the Greenwich Village experience. At the same time, with two children ages 7 and 8, we needed to find a setting appropriate for them that still offered great food, service and ambience. Denino's delivered on all counts. Although the restaurant was very busy (every other table appeared to be taken), our party of six was seated immediately inside an open window. We ordered two pizzas and several dishes -- the best of which, to my taste as an Italian-American and fairly harsh critic of Italian-American food, was the broccoli rabe ravioli with sun-dried tomatoes and sausage. Our server was very attentive and understanding of our situation with two young kids, who were very happy. As were the rest of us. After dinner, we got ice cream at a nearby shop and strolled through Bryan Park, where he encountered a large crowd gathered around a tenor singing arias while standing on a Steinway. It was a great meal and authentic NYC experience for our guests!
Best thin crust pizza and wings In NYC. Always great either in Greenwich Village or SI!
Great place in a nice area but I’ve had better pizza and it’s pricy. If I’m gonna pay that much for pizza it needs some improvement!
We had Pizza and some various appetizers before our entrees arrived. Everything was delicious and the service was great.
A little pricey for Pizza but food and service is excellent!
Wonderfully accommodating staff, excellent food, can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Fun place in the West Village
Great food and amazing pizza! Excellent service!!!
Pizza is super big.
But not very tasty.need to add salt and pepper...
Share with min 2 more people one pizza
Try the pizza. It’s the best in the city.
Great food and service. The pasta with the veal Marsala was unbelievably good. Great location, great food, great value for the money.
The food was outrageously delicious ! Better than the pizza I had in Naples !
Fantastic food. Pizza the best in nyc. Great service and owner very hands on. Great place!!
Great pizza and appetizers!! Can’t get enough!
My husband and I decided to try Denino’s based on the review by the Pizza Guy - he gave it high marks. He was absolutely right! Their pizza is amazing - the perfect crust. We got the original - we loved it! We also got the clam - we liked it. The service was terrific- it was just the two of us - the staff came back to make sure we really wanted two pies because each one is huge. Our plan was to take home what we didn’t finish. Their pizza was still delicious heated up the next day. We also ordered the buffalo wings - delish! Keep in mind that we got there at 5:30pm, so it was quiet. I doubt that it will be this way during a later hour. We also loved how spacious and far apart the tables were. We plan to go back to try the other pies! We highly recommend this restaurant.
It was worth the trip as we live close to your Brick location. The manager could not have been kinder. Thank you.
Love the food and service!
Pizza was great! Super thin crust and tasty. The spinach was loaded with flavor and my son enjoyed his wings. A good time was had by all!!
Great food. Great host. Make you feel like your just a family neighborhood spot
We were able to make a last minute reservation for a larger party the day of and were so thrilled with the food, service, and ambiance. We were not rushed at all and were comfortable in the space. It was also great to be able to hear everyone at the table, as the restaurant is not noisy at all, even on a Saturday night.
