Nice environment, very accommodating, food was a bit of a let down from other authentic family-owned Greek restaurants we've patronized and too expensive for level of cooking. Would benefit from addition of wood-fired cooking like its Persian restaurant neighbors on Westwood blvd
Did not know how to use Open Table reservation
Hello, I'm sorry you feel that way . we tried to serve all customers best way we can. please let me know in advance and I'll serve you myself as owner. Thank you again for let us know. Roozbeh
Just bad Greek food, plain and simple. Gyros were a step above canned spam, “pan fried” squid was actually deep fried frozen squid. Walls were dirty, flies in the dining room. Were it decent, might have been worth it—but clearly not.
Hello Ron, I'm sorry you did not like your octopus. if you told us we could changed it for you. but we don't have fryer at restaurant and we use only pan fried, let me know next time I'll show you our certificate of fryer and even I can give you a tour in our kitchen. Also our building is old and Delphi is here same location since 1985 and also we try to keep décor country style. Thank you for visit. Roozbeh
This was a great place for our graduation celebration! They were great to accommodate our large group! I like that larger group reservations are so easy on open table. The food and service were fantastic! Prices were good too! Try this place, you will not regret it!
The large windows and glass doors, the street noise, and the ice cream place next door give Delphi a pleasant sidewalk cafe feel, even though it is indoors. We had the smelt souvlaki, braised lamb shank, and Greek village salad, all superb. Greek music just the right volume for ambience and conversation. A winner.
Great place period! Amazing wine list and private reserve list as well. Food is spot on take the family here weekly.
Great for kids with all of the fish and environment.
Nice place but just a street side eatery. It’s difficult to understand why they are so expensive. Good food and quick service. At around 9PM on a weeknight I was the only customer there!
Good food, good service.
I will admit, we were the only customers on a Sunday evening. The staff said that was not common.
The owner even came out and joined us for a few moments after he uptrend from catering an Oscar party.
Like most West Side establishments parking can be a challenge but it is worth the walk.
After reading numerous reviews about this restaurant I expected much more. The food was bad across the board. The dolmades were tasteless and gummy, the spanakopita was tiny and tasted like it had just been taken out of the freezer. The tabouli salad was dry and bland. All four people in our party were disappointed with their meals and we will certainly never be back. I question how there could be that many positive reviews, something must have changed.
Good food and great service can't be beat. Love the decor, particularly the aquariums. Parking can be a bit tricky, but this is L.A. It's kind of par for the course.
Enjoyed our dining experience and have returned many times. Delicious food and closest greek cuisine to Greece in LA.
Food was really quite good, but the service left something to be desired. Although we asked for water, we sat for 15 minutes after ordering before being served with water! Really enjoyed the octopus salad, but seriously guys! You are in the hospitality business!
Great food in a cute ambience with all the trappings of the Greek culture we love. Love the aquariums! But most of all love the food. Extensive choices in all categories.
So amazing, felt like we traveled to Greece for the evening and the service was very attentive! They are very friendly and the food is amazing and decently priced! Their happy hour is so fun, 20% all apps and $5 wine and beer!! So glad I decided to try this place- I’ll be back with my whole family!!
Excellent food and coffee! Very tasty, fresh, right size portions.
It might have been an off night but the restaurant was super quiet. We were the only ones dining. Of course we were doted on and our food was tasty and appetizing. We enjoyed our meal.
Enjoyed the ambience and fish tanks.....They really kept it Greek in style.....Food was terrific. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was that it was pretty empty and then you think something is wrong....Service though was excellent!
Another superb meal, with attentive wait staff, and owner. I don't eat lamb that often but I've eaten it twice at this restaurant and it's been great each time. This is the best Greek food I've ever eaten and my dinner companions have all agreed. The saganaki is flamed at the table and is a must-try dish. This Gem of a restaurant is a Westwood best kept secret. I'm conflicted about sharing how good my experience has been because I don't want to have to stand in line to eat there, but they deserve lines of diners waiting to get in.
This is a very small restaurant and buried between other shops. Very limited outdoor dining and very difficult for parking. Parking is street parking only and metered. Decor is very Greek in traditional blue and white. Surprisingly extensive menu for such a small place, featuring breakfast, lunch and dinner. Would assume that breakfast and lunch are their main traffic times. We were the only people in the restaurant for dinner the evening we went. Service was good, food was good, not exceptional, but good basic Greek food. If you're looking for an introduction to Greek food this is a good place to go, not if you're looking for upscale Greek food. The Saganaki was one of the best we've had in the many Greek restaurants we've eaten in. The meat domades were good, the filling had a good taste and good seasoning, though heavy in grape leaves wrapping. The chopped Gyro salad had plenty of lettuce and other salad fixings along with a plenty of Feta and a good dressing, but the gyro meat was thin sliced and there was a very small portion of meat on the salad. They have a good wine list with plenty of overpriced Greek wines and an unrealistic corkage fee for a restaurant of this type at $20, even with bringing a Greek wine, not on the menu. If in the area, we would consider going again, but if we're going specifically for Greek cuisine, Stephen's Greek or the Great Greek run circles around Delphi. For just a quick meal and a taste of Greece, this would be a good introductory place to dine.
Wow, what a great experience! The service was good, and the food was very tasty. Also, decent portions and left very full. Highly recommend the gyro.
Excellent quality with real greek authenticity and a passionate proprietor.
Delphi is a family run Greek restaurant which we have been to several times. The food is usually very good. This time, however, I had a shrimp and it was overcooked and dry. Everyone is entitled to a bad day. We will go back.
Food and service were as good as I remembered it from times before!
Attentive service and excellent Greek food at this Westwood Blvd. restaurant. Very attractive restaurant, surprisingly quiet. One drawback is limited parking on the street. Recommend the traditional Greek chicken/rice/lemon soup, avgolemono, the moussaki, the souklavi and and excellent huge portion of grilled trout.
A proud, attentive owner, great service, reasonable wine prices, excellent lamb dishes, and a noise level that permitted 2 old buddies to catch-up without shouting.
Delicious food. Great service. Such a great place for family, friend or work gatherings!
It´s your basic Greek restaurant. The meals we have eaten there have ranged from good to very good. That also applies to the service. If someone in that área wants some Greek food, we would recommend it, especially since there isn´t another one within 5 miles.
The food is very authentic and delicious. The portions are large, the ambience is great, it almost feels like you're visiting Greece. Service is terrific. The lamb is especially good.
We enjoyed our meal in this quiet place. The menu has great variety of Mediterranean choices!
The owner was there and could not have been nicer, but our entrees were just okay. Two greek salads, one with falafel and one with chicken gyro. One falafel plate. One chicken skewers plate. The last one was pretty good, but the falafels were hard as a rock and not particularly well-flavored, not a great portion of gyro on the salad, and both salads were cut up in pieces too big with way too much oil. We did order an appetizer platter of Greek dips, which was delicious, especially their version of baba ganoush. My friend said it well, "there are just too many restaurants to get away with being mediocre." I hope with this review the owner checks in with his chef to make some improvements. He was so nice and we want his restaurant to do well!
Authentic Greek food, delicious! Restaurant took us back to Greece.
I highly recommend this very good neighborhood restaurant! The food and service were very good, and the portions were very generous!
I wanted a satisfying meal where I could conduct business maters that was convenient and not a grab-and-go spot. Delphi's full menu was a great surprise and my entree was delicious. Highly recommend the Flaming Cheese appetizer! Now that I know where it is, I will be back more often!
A standard favorite with good food and service.
Easy to understand why they've "survived" 30 years there.
I have been to Delphi a few times because (1) I like Greek food and (2) it is convenient to Royce Hall UCLA, a popular venue for concerts. There are better Greek restaurants, but it is good and reliable and can be recommended to people in the Westwood area. Also, it doesn't hurt that there is a fantastic ice cream shop next door that specializes in the Persian version with many unusual (wonderful) flavors.
If you want succulent lamb - we had skewers - that is moist and bursting with taste AND you want to actually have a conversation, this is a good choice. We went early on a Saturday for dinner. We were the only people there. Clearly, not a 'scene'. The restaurant has been on Westwood Boulevard since 1985! Give it a try!
It was spooky because we were the ONLY ONES in the restaurant all night long. We went out to dinner to escape Halloween madness at home, but this was like being in the Twilight Zone. And because we were the only ones there, the service was overly attentive ( bordering on interruptive) and there wasn't enough time between courses. The food was fine. Between the 4 of us we shared a cold appetizer combo of various dips and pita bread that was tasty, then we had shrimp souvlaki, chicken souvlaki, and moussaka. All were seasoned and prepared well. The baklava for dessert was quite sweet though. I felt badly that we stayed and talked after dinner since it appeared that the staff had nothing to do after our plates were cleared and it looked like they wanted to leave, even though it was still early evening (9:00-ish) and we'd been there just over an hour. As we got up to leave the host rushed to the door to escort us out, so I got the impression they were glad they could close up shop. All in all, kind of a strange night, since I don't know why there weren't any other customers.
The gyros were pre packaged, not cut off of a gyros roast. The avgolemono soup was thickened with something that made it slimy. There was nobody else in the restaurant the entire time we were there. I will not go back.
I had a party of 8 here on my birthday because I think this is such a great place. They surprised me with a beautiful flower arrangement especially for me!! SO sweet. The food was absolutely amazing. We ordered a few favorites, but left most of the ordering up to our waitress who did not disappoint. The whole group loved everything and the price was more than reasonable for the quality of food and service. I love this place!
I am not sure if this place is more of a lunch spot. I took my parents hoping for a nice evening...but we were all alone in the restaurant (felt a bit weird...i probably would have liked it if I need the space and the privacy). Restaurant manger super nice and very kind.
