A fine dining experience. Worth the trip.
Wonderful food and amazing service
Delicious food, we split the Delmonico steak and added truffle butter - soooo good! The signature dessert is good. The sides, mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts, were amazing! The bar was a fun ambiance too. I would definitely recommend!
Amazing restaurant, the manager of the restaurant always passed by our table and asked if everything was ok, very attentive staff as well. The food is top notch, we had the Steak Tomahawk it was AMAZING! Will definitely come back! :)
Predictable menu well executed but nothing exciting
This was the perfect end to a weekend of friends celebrating our 50th birthdays. Truly outstanding. One of the most enjoyable meals with friends I have had. The food was not just iconic (the Baked Alaska was created here in 1967 for goodness sake!) but truly divine tasting. A once in a lifetime experience.
Great night awesome steak and service
I chose Delmonico's for its history. I will be back because of the excellent food, attentive service and the "old steakhouse" ambiance. My husband devoured (yes, devoured) the Delmonico steak. My daughter and I enjoyed the petite filet (perfect size) along with the original Baked Alaska. When we are in town again, we will definitely dine at Delmonico's.
I treated my husband to oysters and steak for his 50th birthday trip to NYC and this was an amazing experience.
I feel the head waiter could be more friendly but the rest of the staff were outstanding.
Would definitely visit again.
Anniversary
Two of the three entrees were spectacular.
The salad was the best I think I ever had.
The desserts were great too and the wine was marvelous.
So why 4 stars?
Our server was a bit off. The wine took a long time to come, which I was OK with, however when it finally arrived he literally (no exaggeration) held it in his hand while flirting with a blond female server for a good 10 additional minutes. What does that tell the customer about where the priorities lie?
The other issue was mu meal -- I got the more expensive 9 ounce Kow Cattle Wagu filet Oddly it was noticeably smaller than the other two $49 filet mignons and more importantly the cut really was not as good. It part of it in the middle had sinew and grizzle (in a filet mignon???)
It's too bad because had the server been better and had my order been better, this would have been a totally 5+ star meal.
Great setting and ambiance. Excellent service and superb food! Highly recommend!
Birthday dinner
The food was a little underwhelming. The brussel sprouts were overcooked and pretty greasy too. The service was great though and the steaks were tasty. We enjoyed the baked Alaska as well. I also passed along that we were celebrating a birthday in the reservation but it was not acknowledged.
Celebrated a friend’s birthday. Food was delicious. Has a chestnut risotto and king crab ravioli starters to share. Rich and tasty. All vegetable sides and desserts were above par. Best vanilla ice cream I’ve ever had. Hash brown side was dry- would skip next time.
Was a great experience great food taste and value loved it definitely worth it
Unbelievable food!!!
Always a favorite when we come to NYC. Highly recommend!
Poor quality control on a slow night. I ordered the west coast oysters and they came out with no liquor. Also they mixed up the temperature of our stakes. I’m not impressed with a waiter that doesn’t write down my order. If you get it wrong you look like a fool.
This is our 3rd time eating at Delmonico’s, we have had Albert as our waiter each time and he’s really great. We sat in the Board Room which was great because the noise level was so much lower in there than the main dining room. Our steaks were done perfectly, as always. We will be back.
Amazing food and service!
Great food, great service. Fantastic as always.
The food, service and ambiance was great
There were several misses with our dining experience. While I won’t detail each miss, two major issues was with service from the staff along with passing a T-bone steak off as a 45 day aged porterhouse steak. The menu shows porterhouse but the wait staff, the steak itself, and itemized receipt shows t-bone. I would not have expected this from thus establishment.
The prefixed menu was off putting especially for someone with shellfish allergies and the up charge for the steaks was ridiculous especially with the already predetermined $130 per person. So your left paying for other people’s indulgences
Steaks were great. Service was poor - I don’t even think we had a waiter, never got a name. We were served the wrong desert - they ended up giving us both because of it. One steak came out the wrong temperature. Sides were nothing great. Not worth the hype in my opinion.
We had a fabulous Valentine’s Day dinner, the ambiance wasn’t what I was expecting when they put us in the bottom floor, felt like I was missing out a little bit. The food was out of this world plain and simple, but be prepared to expect a decent bill as well!
Spent a delightful evening. The food was well prepared and delicious. David, our waiter, was most helpful on picking the right steak for our tastes.
Delmonico’s never disappoints - we’ve been coming here for almost two decades and love the historic and civilized dining room.
We tried to use an opentable reward and the sever was unable to process it... it was a very bad experience. They were incredibly rude about it and we spent a long time on the phone with opentable customer service, who said the reward should have worked. I still have yet to redeem a reward ever from opentable... and I am still embarrassed by how it was handled at Delmonico’s. We were there for a long time + gave all the information + my phone to the server who was rude and never successfully used it. Disappointing.
Excellent as always.
The noise is always an issue, but incredible food!
I don't get to be in New York often. Delmonico's was all I hoped it would be. The place is classy, the staff is classy, and the food is amazing.
Great for a business dinner. We enjoyed our meal and the service.
My husband and I went on a whim because it was close to our hotel and it did not disappoint. The waiter was EXCEPTIONAL! Even found a wine I loved when I normally hate wine. Every recommendation was perfect and on point. Well worth the money.
Beautiful restaurant. Service and food quality not on par for the price.
Food was average. The Brussel sprouts were something you would get at a diner on RT 66. What a disappointment. This is a restaurant who gets customers only on name recognition.
Great! Great great
Ordered the Del Monico's steak, Filet Mignon and for the price those steaks were pretty average and not worth it. Both were chewy and overdone, despite asking for medium.
Delightful evening. Excellent food, service and ambiance. Nice touch with birthday candles on cake.
Food was good but nothing excepcional
