The service is excellent so is the food and the portion sizes. Bread needs improvement. Although the restaurant was packed on a Tuesday night, the service was excellent. The best crab cake we have eaten. The filet mignon was excellent too, as well as the Amish chicken. We didn’t like the Baked Alaska dessert because of the banana ice cream. We would come back and we would recommend it.
Absolutely amazing, wait staff could not have been friendlier or more attentive. Being ranked by the Manager was a very nice touch. The food was deliciousl and the portions were very generous. This was clearly one of the finest meals ever.
Great ambience. Solid steakhouse with great service. Had the wagyu steak and it was great!
Everything I expected
Great food, great service. Met with 2 colleagues to discuss future business opportunities over high quality food and drink, and it did not disappoint. Highly recommended.
Great steak at a historic place. Meet with friends who were visiting NYC.
Excellent food, Great service, Highly recommend , Hey great place for steak and seafood
Went with 6 people. The Food was excellent! Tasty, and cooked perfectly, sides were amazing too. Service was perfect! We ordered the Tomahawk steak and 2 Ribeye. Mac & Chesses, Fries, Delmonico’s Potatoes and creamed spinach. Dessert: Raspberry Chesses cake donut and crème brulee. Plus lots of wine from the Sommelier David! We will be back by the end of the month!
Food was very good, but we were seated downstairs. Not nearly as nice as upstairs. When reserving make sure you get a table upstairs. It was extremely noisy considering the few tables downstairs. Had the feel of being treated second class downstairs.
Great place in New York. I must to do in the Big Apple.
Very classy place , great service.
I went with my parents and we all loved it! We had the Delmonico's steak and we all thought it was one of the best steaks we've ever had. It also felt very classic New York, which is what we were looking for.
This restaurant is know for the historical presence. The food is okay, does not seem high quality. Service is moderate not high end.
Food was delicious. Not many people around for lunch so dining room was quiet. Service was excellent. Waiter put a candle in our dessert for my husband’s birthday. Great experience all in all.
I went for a birthday dinner date with my boyfriend. We both requested our steaks medium rare and they were cooked to perfection.
The whipped potatoes were creamy and super tasty.
The foie gras “melted in his mouth” and he loved it. I hated it but I have an aversion to foie gras so my opinion probably doesn’t count.
The only complaint that I have was the creme brûlée. It was served chilled on a large plate on some strongly flavored orange sauce. I order creme brûlée everywhere I go and I wasn’t impressed.
The service was excellent though, the wine menu super impressive, and the meal definitely worthy of the cost.
The food was good but not outstanding, but the ambiance was nice. The head waiter was poor - always seemed rushed, looking elsewhere, and generally disinterested but nice that caused a couple of wrong items being delivered and having to ask for bread. The other waitstaff was pleasant. The waiter kind of ruined the dinner experience, which was also a birthday for a special friend.
Given the price and options available elsewhere in NYC, we won't risk a return, unfortunately.
4 of 5 stars.????¡!??¿?????!!!?????¿?!?¿!!!†***
Dining at Delmonico's was on my "bucket" list and was worth it. The 19th/early 20th century charm, the service, the food -- all excellent. My only complaint was our fault -- ordered too much! A huge meal; and, everything was very rich. The main courses, the sauces, the side dishes -- everything. I had the lobster newberg and afterward wished I had ordered the steamed lobster. All the food was great and the seared foie gras was superb! All-in-all a delightful evening.
The place is awesome; food and service was impeccable!
Had the tomahawk steak very delicious. Sides were good and great service. Overall great experience.
Incredible steak and service. We never had to wait more than a few minutes to ask our waiter for anything. Food came out in a well-timed manner. Baked alaska was extremely good, and the prices were reasonable for the high quality of the menu.
Came here with the family and had a wonderful evening. The staff were so nice and the food was delicious! Not a cheap meal but a meal worth while! Get the baked Alaska! You won’t regret it!
Dining in the oldest restaurant in the United States was a wonderful experience as is, but the great food, friendly staff and amazing ambience really made it a night to remember. We'll be back!
First trip to New York. Wanted to try a true New York Steakhouse and an iconic New York restaurant. Delmonico’s didn’t disappoint. Lovely atmosphere with excellent service and the food was very tasty. Delightful experience.
Everything was great, except they ran out of Scallops.
As expected from an establishment that prides itself on being the first fine dining restaurant in America, the place has a very "old school" kind of atmosphere, which is nice. The menu is short and centers around their specialist - steaks, which were outstanding. The place is not cheap, and you should expect to spend around $75 - 100 per person.
Their wine list is extensive and quite impressive, however with most bottles priced at above $150 , only a small part of it is relevant for the average patron. Even with that restriction, the wine selection is generous and quite good.
Great experience and Phillip was excellent!
One of the best dining experiences ever.
Excellent experience! Their signature Delmonico steak is incredible!
good food but not amazing service. waiter couldn't really explain the difference between several of the steaks beyond what was said on the menu. that's pretty much the only reason to have a water at a steak restaurant.
It was our Anniversary and actually had planned to come last year but we had to change our plans. So this year we made it and we’re so glad that we did. Our reservation was for 8pm, we arrived 5 minutes early and we were seated almost immediately. My wife ordered the Filet and I went with the signature Delmonico. The flavor was amazing and they were cooked just as we had requested. Our server was very attentive as were all of the other staff that work hard to make the experience something special. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great steak house in lower Manhattan.
The food and service were exquisite! The ambiance is elegant.
Delmonico’s lives up to its reputation as a first class restaurant. From cocktails to wonderful crab bisque to an extensive wine list (pricey) the steaks that made it famous and BAKED ALASKA, a terrific anniversary celebration experience. Thanks to waiter Frank for everything.
Great birthday dinner spot and all occassion. Favorite steak house ever.
Birthday for my daughter. Service and food outstanding!!
Amazing place, the best stake in the city
Phenomenal food. Every bite was perfection. Service was impeccable and nonintrusive. It is excellent value for you money. Fantastic for a special occasion or celebration.
Poor service. Wait staff was rude. Our waiter was obviously making comments about our table, because I at several times saw other waiters looking over at us after our waiter quietly said something. We Had to send all steaks back because they were undercooked. The table next to us sent their steaks back as well and received a whole new meal; we received our same steaks back charred. Would not recommend this restaurant and definitely would not return.
This is an institution that lives up to its history. Excellent in every way. We had Delmonico ribeyes, Delmonico potatoes, mushrooms & onion, and asparagus accompanied by a phenomenal Caymus Cabernet. Outstanding. We couldn't finish - we had doggy bags for leftover lunches!
