Excellent food, good service . It was a little cold (too much air con) and a little noise
We had a wonderful night at the restaurant and felt perfectly on the food. The taste of steak was unforgettable.
Great steaks in an old world atmosphere. Great service and excellent wine list.
The steak was the best I have ever eaten, and the wine list was impressive too. My new favourite restaurant anywhere in the world
hostess wearing inappropriate outfit. poor attitude. told us to close our tab at the bar before going to the table. it can just be combined. they gave us our hot plates way before the steak came out. the plate was cooled down before the hot food came out.
The food was done to perfection no complaints at all
it was ok but i am not gonna recommend to my friend.
Signature steak was undercooked and did not live up to expectations.
Steaks were excellent as were the sides. Tuna was tasteless. Baked Alaska is no longer flambeed. They should tell you. Great place to take visitors!
Steaks were ok, but did not match with the price point and did not look/taste as Prime USDA beef; it is a nice tourist experience given the fame of Delmonico brand and the old fashioned steakhouse appeal. Nevertheless, there is an opportunity to invest more on the beef quality to match it to the price point. Furthermore, for a top price restaurant, owners need to address the restrooms: extremely tiny for men and only one slot for women! Btw, women’s restroom was actually clogged the evening of our visit.
Food was EXCELLENT. There was a loud party nearby so it was a bit noisy for our visit, but this probably isn't the usual. Also the service was good, but not overly attentive. Worth coming for the steak, but not an overly remarkable experience beyond that.
The filet mignon was to die for. Perfectly tender and delicious. Also loved the Delmonico's potatoes.
The only thing that ruined our experience was a group of 15 to 20 obnoxious people not properly dressed for such a nice place. Several people at other tables asked to be moved, luckily our group was about done.
Excellent service, delicious food & beautiful atmosphere. So happy I was able to dine at such a historic establishment.
I spent about $1,300 and out of 6 very expensive steaks 3 of them were cooked incorrectly. 2 were rare instead of medium and 1 well done instead of medium. Our waiter, David, saw this first hand and agreed. Great atmosphere but very disappointing especially since I had important clients with me.
A nice historic place to spend a quiet, leisurely lunch.
We had heard of Delmonico’s and were enthusiastic to see that reservations were available during our visit to NYC. The meal lived up to all expectation! Excellent in all aspects!!!
Everything was very good, getting a $90 Wagyu Filet mignon, sitting naked on the plate was a bit discouraging. Baked alaska look amazing though. Side dishes were very good as well. Service was also good
to the owners. #boardroom #BLE #slices #regularprotestant
Have always wanted to try Delmonico’s, but never have. It is remotely located and unless you live or work in the area it’s a haul from anywhere. Once there, it’s very good. Old fashioned atmosphere with great artwork on the walls. Service is impeccable without being overbearing. All of our steaks were cooked and served to perfection. Sides were great - save room for table bacon. It’s fantastic.
The wine menu is deep with many price points. A pet peeve is that it is on an iPad. I still like turning pages of a menu to look at selections. Something I’ll never get used to. I thought the iPad wine list fad had died an ugly death but apparently not. Still, the wine selection is very good and we had trouble deciding from many on our “short list”.
Desert list is good but you might not have room!
I’m glad to finally have made it to Delmonico’s, but due to location, not sure when I’ll be back.
Nice atmosphere in the dining room but the bar area is very cramped and excessively noisy. The service was prompt and the meal was excellent. Had the signature Delmonico rib-eye. Delicious. We split one entree between us two and it was plenty with a starter and sides.
As always, the experience and food was amazing. The staff is great and the food is second to none.
Incredible food and service from Igor, who was superb. Wonderful birthday experience. We will definitely be back.
We were celebrating a birthday and couldn’t have picked a better place. From the greeting when we entered to the thank you when we left everything was done to make certain our meal was superb. There were 3 in our party and we took our waiters advice and all ordered Delmonico’s signature rib eye which was cooked to perfection and large enough to bring some home. The sides and appetizers were also terrific. My only disappointment was the deserts. I didn’t care for the baked Alaska or the unusual peach pie. Will I return to Delmonico’s? Definitely! It was a treat and we were treated like royalty.
Simply awesome. The food and service was top notch. I recommend this spot to anyone visiting NY.
The entrees were somewhat below par of what they usually are then again it was restaurant week otherwise very delicious
Delmonico's has excellent staff though sells horrible steak yet passes it off as USDA Prime. My wife and I live in Manhattan and have been to many steakhouses. We also regularly prepare ribeye at home so we know what's acceptable.
The ribeye is extremely tough like a bad NY strip, filled with tendon, and not much fat. Not a ribeye I would ever recognize or recommend and certainly not Prime! The seasoning isn't memorable either. Not enough salt or pepper.
The Baked Alaska might have been invented here though mine came sans ice cream and had an artificial taste.
The bar area was filled with obnoxious drunks which you're forced to deal with as the tiny men's room happens to be in that area. One of them tried to fight me then proceeded to verbally assault his female partner outside the establishment.
So whether visiting or an NY resident go somewhere else! I would consider this place a tourist trap that suspends reality given the allure of its history. Well that does not nullify my taste buds.
Our steaks were very tough. Waiter inattentive. Disappointed in meal/service.
After 3 months of planning this is where I proposed to the love of my life. The food was out of this world. The staff was.....there are no words that I can give for the attention to detail, the professionalism and most importantly the way they treated my fiancé and myself. I don’t think I could have pulled this off without them. Thank you so much for everything you did to make this a most important evening that we can both remember for the rest of our lives.
Full Disclosure, this was the final day of restaurant week. Overall a nice dining experience. The Lobster Newburgh was good but not great as it typically is. The "Delmonico" steak was seared nicely but unfortunately a little rare for medium. The chocolate mouse was heavenly. Service was excellent.
Amazing for restaurant week!!!
Delightful experience. My annual must visit restaurant
Food is delicious and service was great. Definitely intend on coming back.
Enjoyed beautiful fellowship and a scrumptious meal on last night, during 2019’s Summer Restaurant Week. The service was impeccable. Our server, Alexander, along with his colleagues, made sure that we were treated with the utmost care and attentiveness. Great job Delmonico’s!
I feel that the Restaurant Week Menu is not a good value.
The surcharge for the steaks is one thing but the miniscule appetizers and desserts were disappointing.
I had not been in this fine dining establishment since I was a young girl and my parents treated me but since I work in the area I decided to treat myself. It did help that it was restaurant week so I received a bang for my buck; but, everything was delightful and decadent even if smaller portions for some items.
For the Summer Restaurant Week lunch, the value was terrific and seeing this very old restaurant was quite nice. We have eaten at quite a few steakhouses during NYC Restaurant Week. Yes, I eat steak out twice a year!
Maybe I would recommend -- if the friend was on an expense account and happened to be in the Financial District. It was certainly a good place, and the history is well worth a visit, but it was not an exceptional experience and it was definitely not worth the heavy price tag. The service is somewhat attentive, but the bus boys were taking away plates that still have some sauce that we were hoping to enjoy with the bread. We were not asked if wanted another bottle of sparkling water. Nothing was wrong, but we just weren't overwhelmed.
Delmonico's was just perfect for the celebration of our 50th Anniversary-plus a Birthday! Lobster Newberg and classic Fillet, followed by celebratory desserts! Our server, Alexander, was top-notch: knowledgeable, professional and charming. A perfect meal, making for a perfect memory! Thanks so much!
