Established in 1837, Delmonico's remains the oldest restaurant in New York City and returns for the fall of 2023.     This was the first time I had the opportunity to eat at this iconic restaurant. My expectations for the food and experience were beyond met. This goes down as one of the best steakhouse experiences I’ve ever had. This is a must try if you’re ever in New York City and love traditional steakhouses.

    Excellent in all aspects and a superb dining experience! Service was excellent! The staff was attentive but not intrusive. Special requests were attended to. We were not rushed as we dined for over two hours. We were able to carry on a normal conversation without raising our voices. The steaks were perfectly cooked.

    Visiting Delmonico’s for the signature ribeye was going to be a highlight of our visit to NYC. We chose Delmonico’s over some of the other famous NYC steakhouses after reading and watching reviews online. Unfortunately, while the service was very good and the steak itself was very tender, high quality, and perfectly cooked (medium rare), the flavor was really mild and not as tasty as expected. We actually had to request some salt for the steak to increase the flavor. So the experience was somewhat of a let down and didn’t compare to some of our favorite steakhouses in Texas.
